Hey guys -- a couple of extra-game things. First, do any of you use Google Plus? I am on there just for gaming stuff, my name there is Gray Freeman. I don't use google stuff if I can help it, but there are some cool old-school gaming communities on there. Second, if you are into 5e you will already know this, but I am not and so I just saw this supplement they came out with. It's interesting to me, and I'm guessing Gold at least, both for races (5e version of a flying humanoid (Aarakocra)) and for all the elemental stuff in there, including new spells. Maybe there are some ideas for our game in there. Kryikh would certainly be into it ..! http://media.wizards.com/2015/downloads/dnd/EE_PlayersCompanion.pdf
Ohh, new 5e content! Especially great because I started playing a bit of 5e with some friends yesterday. I like the drawing of the Aarakocra! I do have a Google+ account but I don't really use it. Any specific reason why you ask?

Gray, if you don't mind me adding a bit to this topic (I can migrate it to its own topic if you want), am I the only one feeling that we can't just leave the "town poisoning incident" the way it is now? I mean, whoever did it should be held accountable, right? I bet our DM will make a sidequest for this. And since we are all so well-aligned, how can resist investigating this? Not to mention this incident reflects BADLY on our party (and especially Horukh). What if the town decides we are a danger to them and they decide to put us behind bars? Imagine how terrible it would be if it turned out one of our group members was actually responsible for this... my oh my...
I have a few comments on it. If Gold was a particularly nasty-spirited DM (which he isn't) then the incident could be spun up to be a Big Deal and Horukh would be in big trouble, esp. since he'd take the heat for it himself rather than implicate the party. Pragmatically that would be, in part, because he feels adventurers are needed in the world rather than behind bars, and he can make bargains to lessen the damage, due to his rank and dplomatic skills. Nextly, I think the most likely outcome is that people will figure, hey, they're giant frogs, and since most people there aren't really used to giant frog meat, they'll just blame the runs on the unfamiliar meat. The butcher & cooks have a good rep so they won't get the blame. The higher-ups who got the runs will just avoid frog meat, and that means it'll become commoner-food rather than a delicacy. Horukh, himself, doesn't know how to cook or be a chef. He eats what's presented to him, and presumes it is guaranteed to be good. It sure wouldn't cross his mind that any poisoning was involved; he does know that some regular frogs are poisonous, and he'll just figure they got one of them.

My friends, I'd like to participate and respond here, but instead I'm just typing this to let you know the DM continues to exist. Talk to you Tuesday (game time) if not sooner. Keep the chat going as much as you like.
I wonder if we can get the samurai lizardman to go with us as a swamp guide/cultural expert?

Funny that you mention. I think we passed him a bit too easily as well. Not meant as meta-gaming, but he wasn't there for no reason at all. Was he waiting for us? If we take him, it could turn two ways. After all, we're going on a spying mission... What about the other Lizardmen from the ship? There was one that seemed a lot more reasonable to talk to. He would be an excellent guide. About what you said about the town's poisoning: makes perfect sense to me.
I was referring to the other lizardman as SiSi. Horukh liked him because he thought diplomatically. The samurai lizardman would bolster up our combat ability, and the two of them would be able to communicate with the other lizardmen, as well as show an example of solidarity to the other lizardmen.

I agree with Larry's scenario for the poisoning / laxative spiking. Airen meant it as a deterrent to eating frog meat, and no one got hurt, so I would just say he was successful there. I also think the more reasonable of the Lizardmen should be who we go after, but Mora never met him so won't have anything to say there. She does think that we passed up the first Lizardman a little too soon, and while she isn't sure she can trust him, he may be able to navigate them along some of the safer paths through the swamp. As for G+, I don't really use it, but I'm interested in the RPG resources. Does anyone here use Twitter? I'd be interested in following you guys if you had accounts. I'm @jengendler. Sidenote, I also just started streaming again on Twitch. If anyone's interested: http://www.twitch.tv/MsGendler . I'm live streaming a full playthrough of Baldur's Gate EE right now 3x a week, then a random game 1x a week. For anyone in European timezones, you'll probably miss me, but you can always catch past broadcasts here . Shameless plug... sorry. ;)
@Jennifer: I've added you on twitter. Don't use it much personally, but I do see we share Addy Osmani as a contact :) On another note, we're in good company:
Oh and I do want to see that stream! I am curious about BG. Am I going to have to pull an all-nighter?
Vin is a well-known gamer. Riddick was based off of his old Witch Hunter RP character. I have a pal who's running a game for him later this year.

I am not in Google Plus. I'm big in Twitter though! Early adopter there (2007 IIRC). I tweet about Music Events primarily, not about RPG. Connected with Jennifer there, I'll tell my Twitter name in-game verbally so Hans can find me. I'm going to Move my responses about In-Game stuff, to the Journals thread. Look in the Journal thread for my responses about the 2 Lizardmen, and about the fallout from the Frog Leg Cookout. Thanks for your Player-chat between sessions! It's been fun and entertaining to see some of the side topics that are coming up as we get to know each other, both out-of-character and in-character interactions developing.
Hey Gold, I don't usually do this, but I know you have a lot going in your life, so if you would like me to co-GM some for you, let me know. I can run some subplots and action for other players, to take some of the burden off of you. Just tell me what you'd like fleshed out or done.

I appreciate the offer mate. I originally tried to recruit you for a Co-DM a couple months ago, but nooooo, you wanted to play your very own Full Time Fancy Happy Bird Guy. So now you're stuck steering Horukh around, and can't be told the DM Secrets (Trademark, Copyright). Ha.Ha. I am making light. It's looking like the next 2-3 weeks will continue to be usually busy for me, but in starts and stops. I'm planning to fit in game prep whenever I have breaks in time, and need a fantasy break in my mind. Based on the progress we made last week in-game even after I had a low-prep week, I think we've got plenty of material to continue proceeding on schedule. There are 100's of acres of swampland waiting for you, just chock full of grinning leeches and glowering swamp spirits, to say nothing of the Lizardman Colonies. Look out. The one case where I would take you up on the offer would be: If I turn up absent for a session due to some matter calling me away. Then I would be happy for Larry and Hans to organize some kind of roleplay, adventure, monster, place, encounter, to keep the characters going & the group playing. Until then, I would say please continue the style we've been playing, and give your game energy into your art & journals between sessions. If you feel like doing organizational action, make sure you've got a nice comprehensive list of all the 1st level spells, in all the Spheres that you can access. Make a separate listing of all the 2nd level spells in all your Spheres. Plan ahead and type up your list of 3rd level spells in all your Spheres. This is the formatting that will make spellcasting easiest for the Player, I've learned from experience playing Priest/Clerics in 2E. 1st level spells I can cast (How many per day? ____ ) SPHERE THIS: Spellname 1 SPHERE THIS: Spellname 2 SPHERE THIS: Spellname 3 "Reminder to self: This is the spell where I can do this _______ " SPHERE THIS: Spellname 4 SPHERE THAT: Spellname 1 SPHERE THAT: Spellname 2 SPHERE THAT: Spellname 3 "Note: Damage from this spell is _____, the Saving Throw is ____" 2nd level spells I can cast (How many per day? ____ ) SPHERE THIS: Spellname 1 SPHERE THIS: Spellname 2 You don't need to put the whole spell description here. SPHERE THIS: Spellname 3 Just put a few notes with each spell for the main points. SPHERE THIS: Spellname 4 SPHERE THAT: Spellname 1 SPHERE THAT: Spellname 2 SPHERE THAT: Spellname 3 3rd level spells I can cast (How many per day? ____ ) SPHERE THIS: Spellname 1 SPHERE THIS: Spellname 2 SPHERE THIS: Spellname 3 SPHERE THIS: Spellname 4 SPHERE THAT: Spellname 1 SPHERE THAT: Spellname 2 SPHERE THAT: Spellname 3
your very own Full Time Fancy Happy Bird Guy. You can say a lot, but I wouldn't call him 'happy' exactly.
