GM LFP - Pathfinder Hybrid AP Campaign

The year is 4666 AR, and the burgeoning city of Magnimar is looking to settle nearby farmlands to feed its growing populace and increase its political power as it vies for regional dominance with Korvosa. To this end, the Lord-Mayor has begun levying resources for building a new colony along the Lost Coast to the east. Some families have contributed coin, others have supplied tools and material, but your own family has chosen to provide you. I am attempting to put together a campaign that combines elements of the Kingmaker and Rise of the Runelords adventure paths published by Paizo. This will be a level 1-20 campaign, and may eventually incorporate elements from Mythic Adventures. Expect to be fighting a lot of monsters, but also to spend plenty of time roleplaying at various junctures throughout the campaign, and of course there will be an abundant amount of downtime activities available, including kingdom-building. Key Elements 1 - Time I am on Pacific Daylight Time (GMT - 7 presently), and am available on weekends or on week nights other than Thursdays. 2 - Rules Characters may be constructed utilizing any Pathfinder book published by Paizo, with the requirement that any non-hardback books (those not in the PRD) be specifically noted, with the exception that only races from the core rulebook and the following list are permitted: Aasimar, Dhampir, Fetchling, Ifrit, Oread, Sylph, Tiefling, Undine. I expect a backstory which at a minimum describes the character's family, birthplace, two or more formative events, and why the character is in Magnimar if not a native of the town. Each character will receive one free campaign trait of my choice tied to their background, and two additional traits of the player's choosing. 3 - Campaign Log I don't want players (or myself) to have to constantly sort through logs to find crucial information, the name of an NPC, or even just what day it is, so I will be developing a wiki over at Obsidian Portal. If all of this interests you, please send me a message at (trystiafarrower) on AIM or post your character concept and how I can get in touch with you to discuss the campaign, character development, scheduling, etc.
Hi Alyssa, I am working on a Pathfinder halfling bard character. I have the nuts and bolts of character creation done: <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=604377" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=604377</a> I used 20 point buy. I still need to write the finished character profile and history. The general concept I am shooting for is a non-musical, stand up comedian/storyteller type whose charisma pulled him from a lower class city background. He's been working in his major city as a small time comedian/entertainer in pubs, though he also likes to gamble. He will have elements of a scoundrel, trickster personality and is focused on himself above all, but recognizes the importance long term relationships over short term gain so is not quick to burn his bridges. He is not above working well with others, his eye is on the long game so to speak. Combat wise I intend to build an ranged (most feats go to archery) support build, focused on buffing, illusion magic and/or healing. I didn't want to dump stats in favor of character optimization because I want a complex, all round build. If this is interesting to you I can be reached at greasyskillet at gmail.com - I will read up on Magnimar (or maybe more specifics about your campaign) in order to incorporate those elements into the backstory. I could have the backstory completed in a few days. I'm available at the times you've listed.&nbsp; This would be my first time using roll20 and playing an exclusive Pathfinder campaign. I've played some 3.5 ed. Thanks for the consideration.
I didn't post which point buy because I'm still not sure how high I want to go with it. Possible patrons for your character (since a low-born scoundrel wouldn't be able to be sponsored by his family) would include the Magnimarian Opera or one of the non-Sczarni syndicates.
I would be interested in becoming involved with this. I am EST but a bit of a night owl so time difference is not that big for me. Have pathfinder experience from a few campaigns. I tend to lean to more tanky fighter types but depending on the setting might try one of the many other characters I have been brewing up in my head. Send me a PM and we can chat some more about the game and what you are trying to do and we can see if that will work.&nbsp;
Good idea. I'm going to create a midlevel Magnimarian Opera official who is his mentor/father figure to act as a sponsor and create internal tension as he tries to reconcile his low birth with his new place in cultured society. I will post the background tomorrow.
Hey guys. I can usually play any kind of filler role. I am mostly looking at a dented Helm dwarf fighter, a dwarf wizard armor maker/tank(weird experimental build) or a Half-elf arcane archer. Can play the holy roles if needed though :D
I'd be willing to play and I've been itching to work with this character concept, I just need some time to adapt it.
hihi, little new to roll20, interested in the campaign. have a char sheet filled out of a half elf sorc (&nbsp; <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=604400" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=604400</a> &nbsp;) but would be willing to play any class if needed. Backstory is already made but isnt on the sheet yet. im avail any time past 3pm est or 1 your time. you can msg me at <a href="mailto:caruprecht1144@hotmail.com" rel="nofollow">caruprecht1144@hotmail.com</a> if i can join = ) tyty
So, right now I'm seeing: Halfling Bard Half-orc 2-handed Fighter Half-elf Sorcerer Dwarven Fighter/Wizard or Half-elf Arcane Archer Some sort of tank character This leaves the party in need of a healer, but it's okay if everyone wants to stick to their present character concepts, since six people would likely be ideal anyway, especially for maintaining momentum and keeping the campaign from falling apart.
And to give somewhat of an idea of what I have in mind:
First off, the temp stuff is just the racial modifiers since I don't know how you'll be making us get our ability points. Second, I put the 2 minimum skill points into the two skills that might be the most useful to me and the group. Also, no idea how we're getting our money. I'm assuming you'd want to post how we're getting that or how much we're starting with. I based buying off of average starting gp. <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=606225" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=606225</a> Not sure if you'll allow the feat since it's from Blood of Angels. You can either PM me or e-mail me at <a href="mailto:robert_ringel@yahoo.com" rel="nofollow">robert_ringel@yahoo.com</a>
if i remember correctly, Paladin healing in PF can be pretty respectable if you spec for it.&nbsp; So with&nbsp; 1. Hafling Bard 2. Half Orc 2h Fighter 3. Half Elf Sorcerer 4. Dwarf Arcane Archer(Just realized you don't have to be an elf anymore hehe)&nbsp; 5. Tank 6. Aasimar Paladin with some Extra channels&nbsp; That seems pretty balanced. 3 up front with good soak and damage, 3 in the back with good support and damage. And our racial diversity should help with diplomatic endeavors!
I also have this human cleric of Erastil that I could switch out in place of the bard: <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=600637" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=600637</a> I created him for a different campaign and he didn't get used. His backstory could easily be changed to fit this campaign.
If you guys got room I have a Human Summoner Made up. Did a basic roll 4d6 drop lowest for the stats and rolled for wealth(which i got jipped in xD) His <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=605060" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=605060</a>&nbsp; His Eidolon Aria <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=605063" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=605063</a> As for why they are in that town, they are simply looking to ecape their past and a new town looking for settlers seems promising.
Alright I've made up my mind, I'm gonna make an Eldritch Knight. Looking at it, to make an Arcane Archer you basically need EK anyways, and you can still use the capstone ability with a bow. So I'll be an all arounds Dwarf arms-wizard.&nbsp;
Alyssa, I assume when you threw in tank character you were referring to myself. Would be playing a Human Fighter, maybe Oread but would have to look at some stuff first. Standard Sword and Board knightly character.&nbsp;
Sorry I've been a bit slow getting in updates. Some stuff came up at work and I've been abnormally busy. Also, still putting together artwork and descriptions and stuff for the first chapter so things can go speedily and we can maybe just chug along merrily once we get started.
If you've still got a bit of space I am interested and willing to fill any desired skill &amp;/or ability set. When do you plan to run this? &nbsp;I am available 9pm CDT / 7pm PDT onward.
Hey, thinking this over, I would prefer you consider my cleric for a spot in the group vs. the bard. I tweaked the background for the campaign setting: <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=600637" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=600637</a> Thanks.
Okay, I think I've got just about everything assembled on my end to get started, which means we need to finalize the roster, make sure everyone has a nice background, and determine when to play. Obviously it will be easier for most to start earlier on weekends, which might be better for those over on the east coast, but if everyone could post a link to the character you plan on playing and what times you're most available, I think we can get this show on the road. Maybe even this weekend if Saturday/Sunday works out for everyone.
Sunday would be nice for me. I'm in a campaign that is going all day Saturday. I forget is this 4 or pathfinder. I have apps to so many I'm available anytime tho
Oh, and I've decided to go with 20 point buy, and 150 gp to buy starting equipment. You will all receive 'free' light horses as part of the funds provided to the expedition, but these are expected to be returned to their original owner after selecting a site to build the new colony.
Sunday works best for me as well. EST but early evening, night is fine.&nbsp;
<a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=607106" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=607106</a> &nbsp;I probably missed something. Will fill in description + backstory later.&nbsp; Gist is, his family are craftsman, but they don't trust arcane magic much. Magic weapons and armor are -blessed- by clerics and the such, not crafted by the arcane. Of hearing about the recent Korvosa devil meddlings, and Janderhoff's turning an apparent blind eye he leaves home forsaking the Brimshield name.&nbsp;
((Will also take spell requests once we're in game and such. There are just so many good ones, having you guys request some to narrow it down in character would make things easier hehe))
thing is i will be busy all day sunday. also, i am on my phone right now so that is why there is a lack of capitalization and an overpowering presence of stick up hindquarters. anyway, it will only be this sunday, as far as i can tell, that sunday is not possible for me. i am wondering if we can maybe do it on friday instead
Tuesday through friday nights after 8 or 9 PM are perfect for me. All day sundays work most of the time.
<a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=600637" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=600637</a> I could do it this weekend, any time is fine. I would prefer weekends since Alyssa is Pacific Time. I am CDT. I could do weeknights but not Tues.
Since I didn't see a scout, here is one:&nbsp; <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=589576" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=589576</a>. &nbsp;I will drop him from 3rd down to 1st upon acceptance. &nbsp;Not too much to change but seems application posts do not always result in campaigns. &nbsp;I'll go back over it all to make sure it fits all the rules but it should play the same. If a melee type is more desired I can quickly put together a barbarian who had lost his tribe or had been outcast and has been wandering the wilderness or a mercenary/army fighter that has been out of work and down on his luck. I am currently available 9pm CDT+ all week.
<a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=605888" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=605888</a>, I can do pretty much any day but Wednesday but weekends are preferable.
Robert R. - Kelnett: Aasimar Paladin Samuel T. - Madachius Brimshield: Dwarven Wizard (Needs description and background) Tom H. - Bertrand Dow: Human Cleric Towowo - Davril Shieldheart: Half-Orc Fighter Still missing CBNYC's character sheet, and Corey R. needs to update his for level 1. Otherwise I think we're all set to go with the above party of 6 starting next Sunday (the 21st), as everyone seems to have indicated that Sundays work after the 14th. Does anyone object to 4+ hour sessions starting at 1pm PDT (4pm EDT)?
Hello, is it too late for anyone else to join in? I am interested but as a fair warning I am new to role playing in general. I have an idea for an Alchemist in the making that will have a focus on healing and heavy bomb usage. If it would be possible for me to join still I would be thankful. I can be reach through a reply here or a private message here. I appreciate you spending time to read and/or reply. Thank You
1 PDT Sundays are perfect.
That time works wonders for me 4-8 est. i updated my char sheet, and i even have an epic backstory. lemme know if i need to change anything.&nbsp; <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=604400" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=604400</a>
<a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=607106" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=607106</a> &nbsp;swapped first level feat to something useful and added backstory.
For clarification, 4+ hours means "4 hour minimum session length, can keep going until someone whispers me that they're too tired to keep going or otherwise would like to stop for the evening."
ok no worries length shoudnt be a problem
Damn, these games fill up so fast. :(
i can do sundays from 1pm for for hours. i have another game at 5pm so i am limited to 4 hours on sunday
That time/date works great for me.&nbsp;
I properly updated my character to fit the model. I think I changed like one or two small things including the armor that I'd be using. Probably the biggest thing I changed was posting my two traits along with skill point distribution. <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=606225" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=606225</a>
Oh, I forgot to take traits &gt;_&gt; I took Eldritch Smith(dwarf, 5% less craft cost for metal or stone items) and Hedge Magician(5% less craft cost for magical items) Do they stack to 10% for a magical metal item?
They sequence, rather than stack. You can use the Eldritch Smith trait to pay less when crafting a sword, and then use Hedge Magician to pay 5% less to enchant it. So, if you wanted to make a +1 adamantine battleaxe, you would get 5% off of the 1505gp to craft the battleaxe, and 5% off of the 1000gp to enchant it. Without both traits, you would have to do one of the following: purchase the adamantine battleaxe for 3010gp and then enchant it for 950gp craft the adamantine battleaxe for 1505gp (without any discount) and then enchant it for 950gp craft the adamantine battleaxe for 1429.75gp and then pay for it to be enchanted for 2000gp craft the adamantine battleaxe for 1429.75gp and then enchant it for 1000gp (without any discount) Does that make sense?
i jsut want to play, sunday at 4est right?
Eeyup.
Right ok. I'll take both I was juss' wondering :)&nbsp;
Hey Alyssa. I'm kind of interested. Do you use Skype? Could have a chat on there
I am excite for tomorrow :D
Okay, I've sent out invites to everyone, so please let me know if you didn't get your invite or have a problem joining. Hope to see you all tomorrow (Sunday) at 1pm PDT!
