[LFP] D&D 5E - Fridays, 6:30pm -- Starting TODAY! Need ONE Player

Hello!  So, I'm a new DM doing my first campaign -- so far, I'm homebrewing everything except the first dungeon we did, which started as a oneshot, and my current players are enjoying it!  What I need is a SINGLE player to fill the party (For a total of 5 players), thanks to one of our party members having disappeared.  We currently have a Tiefling Cleric, a Human Druid, a Half-Orc Barbarian, and a Half-Elf Sorcerer.  While party balance is nice, I don't particularly mind what you play!  Repeats will be given lesser priority than classes we do not have, however. For those of you who wish to know, the party is currently level 3, and you will either start at level 2 or 1 -- I haven't decided yet. One thing I would like you to keep in mind is that I hope for you to be MORE than willing to actively roleplay with your fellow party members.  You don't have to be experienced, you just have to be willing to give it a shot. In any case, please give me a basic idea of your character, and if I select you, you can come up with a full-fledged backstory.  Or, feel free to apply with one now!  But, all I want for this moment is your class, race, and a basic character idea.  Thanks!  

Hi! My names Collin. I've never played DnD before, but i am familiar with how the game works. I would love my first game to be a bit laid back and with a group of fun people. Name: Claudius Gallum Class: Wizard Race: Half-Elf Backround: Claudius was born of a human woman about 25 years ago in the city of Suncrest. He never knew his father growing up. His mother never told him much, except he always had wanderlust just like his father. Childhood was tough. All the other children outcast him for being different. Because of this, he spent most of his time with his nose buried into a book. Unfortunately, he was not a very strong child, so he was bullied relentlessly. To get back at them, he learned a simple spell to get back at them without direct confrontation, Magic Hand. He would pull their pants down from afar, pull their chairs out from under them, and slip bugs into their food while they weren't looking. At the age of 20, he set off from home attend the Valengate University. He spent several years there learning all about history, medicine, religion, and numerous other subjects. But nothing interested him more than the Arcane Arts. After intensive studying, he managed to learn several other spells. Recently he was assigned a project to research the practical use of magic in society. Rather than just read a book on the subject, Claudius decided to go on a journey to the wilderness, to learn about how the common people used magic first hand. He plans on taking notes on just about everything that happens out there. He took to the road, and even though he had high expectations, he never could have imagined the adventure that laid before him.

Hmm. A half elf sorcerer who was a product of medical/magical experimentation animating a Frankenstein like individual made of half human and half elf parts. His memory is hazy and scattered between his former selves so he strives to create his own future.

Would this be every Friday or is it flexible?

It would most likely be every friday, with RARE exceptions.  Out of 5 or so sessions so far, we've only had to cancel one.  

I'll keep looking, then. :(... Unfortunately, my work schedule doesn't allow me to be available every Friday (hence why I was asking about flexibility). 

Heyhey, what timezone are you guys in and when do you start ? I've never played D&D before, but have the 4E/5E Rulebooks and am eager to play. I also dont have problems with roleplaying. I would prefer to play an Elven Ranger, that due to his character butts heads with the elders of his birthplace. Being more or less exiled, he took up Training as a Ranger and Archer, brooding over the trouble with his own kind and in search of some sort of company.

Thats a good question. If you guys play Fridays 6:30 its around 00:30 here and I would be able to play like 4-5 hours. So it would be fine, depending if you still have the free slot.
