Freezing/Lagging

Within the last few days, once I am in a campaign, whether as a player or a GM, Roll20 freezes up on me or experiences severe lag every time I attempt to make any action - dice rolls are incredibly delayed, and if I attempt to move a token or an object (as a player or a GM), the game freezes up. I can still exit out of the browser and use any other window on my computer, but the map completely locks up. I had to cancel my game session last night because of this, despite using two different browsers. It seems as if this problem has begun in the wake of the recent updates to the site, but I can't be sure that it's not something to do with my system. Computer set-up: Windows 8.1 - fully up to date with all required patches/security updates Google Chrome - fully up to date Internet Explorer 11 - fully up to date Wireless keyboard and mouse Dual monitors
Can you please follow Steps 1-3 of our Solving Technical Issues wiki page, taking special care to temporarily disable all browser add-ons and extensions, temporarily pause your anti-virus, and try switching browsers (for Chrome/Firefox specific issues) to see if one of those components is causing the problem. If all of that fails, please follow Step 4 , including providing all of the necessary information, so that we can further assist you.
Hello. I have gone through Steps 1-3 as described above with no effect. The issue continues to remain that, when I log into a game, the browser either becomes very laggy (if I am in the game where I am a player) or freezes up when I attempt to make changes to the tokens and backgrounds on the map. I am usually only able to make one small change before the freezing occurs, and the lagging seems to most commonly affect dice rolls and the locator pings that occur when you hold down the left mouse button. Step-by-Step Instructions (GM'd game) 1) Log in to my GM'd game 2) Select a token/background object 3) Attempt to make a change (resize, change position, etc.) 4) Browser freezes Step-by-Step Instructions (Player game) 1) Log in to my Player game 2) Browser becomes laggy at random intervals Computer Settings: 1) Web Browser = Google Chrome 2) Browser Version = 44.0.2403.157m 3) Operating System = Currently, Windows 8.1 (up to date with all patches and required security downloads) 4) Javascript Enabled = Yes 5) Anti-Virus Software = Windows Defender (up to date) Console Log for GM'd game: e inline script because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "script-src 'self' 'unsafe-eval' https://*.googlesyndication.com https://*.doubleclick.net https://*.googlesyndication.com https://www.googletagservices.com https://*.googlesyndication.com https://www.google-analytics.com https://*.googlesyndication.com https://d3clqjduf2gvxg.cloudfront.net https://*.googlesyndication.com https://*.firebaseio.com https://*.googlesyndication.com https://*.opentok.com https://*.googlesyndication.com http://www.google-analytics.com". Megan, are you still having this issue if you switch to using Firefox. Can you test that?
Yes, but in Firefox I also get an error message that says: "Warning: Unresponsive Script A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue. Script: https://app.roll20.net/assets/base.js?1436377404:1"
Does this only happen in one game? If so, can you private message me a link to the game so I can see if it lags on my end too.
I didn't notice a problem in one of the games I GM, but the other one I sent you a link to. The issue in the game where I am a player seems to be random lagging, and seems mostly to do with dice rolls.
Megan, We've had a couple folks hop in the game and so far we aren't experiencing any lag. I took a look at your game data and it doesn't look particularly large or anything so I'm not really sure what would be causing this. The unresponsive script error message is interesting. When you say you are having lag on rolls, is this just regular old "/r 1d20"? Or a macro of some kind? Also are you experiencing lag when you use the "Rejoin as Player" button in the Settings tab in-game?
It's just the regular old /r 1d20, etc. No macros. Rejoining the game as a player didn't have any issues - whatever is happening seems to be linked to my GM role, and it seems to be exclusively regarding my ability to move tokens and background objects and manipulate them - change sizes, reposition them, bring them to the foreground/background at need.

Strange. I will make a copy of your game (if that's okay?) and make myself a GM of the copy so I can see if I can figure it out.
That's fine.
As a test to deal with this issue, I went ahead and launched a new game. I recreated the maps I had built for the lagging games, and so far I have not had any issues. If something is wrong with the other game, it is not making a reappearance in the new version.

This is almost identical to the problem I was having a couple of weeks ago (it is posted in the bugs as well) and started having again this morning. I am renewing my bug complaint as well and will post a link here for you megan so you can see if you can spot any differences between our problems.... https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2343760/inoperat... edited: in order to add link to my bug report
I have the same issue and will post as well. I am happy to know that it isn't just me.
Yes please make your own thread Gin. It could be a different issue and will be easier for me to follow it if you make a seperate thread for it.
