Is it just me, or are there a TON of D&D games up right now?

I've noticed a surge in D&D and Pathfinder games recruiting right now. Normally, I've noticed a fairly wide range of games that are being offered or requested. But at the moment, it's all D&D. Any particular reason for that? I know that D&D and Pathfinder are popular. That's not what I'm asking.

Gencon is the primary reason plus the other online cons tend to draw more D&D style games but that is only a guess since I don't study trends and such.

I am not aware of any reason for a surge but I also don't pay attention to Cons. Perhaps it was the recent Con that Roll20 attended creating a surge in the more popular games? Just as an example: If 10% of the population of each game type were to start using Roll20 today you would see many more D&D/Pathfinder games based on volume. While the ratio of percentages may be the same, the sheer volume would be different.  - Gauss
Yea, I love D&D but I do wish more people were more open to trying new things.  There's ALOT of really good pnp games and settings out there.  It's hard though for new smaller games to get the word out though, advertising is pretty expensive and if you don't get some good word of mouth going early on things can stop before they even start.

Buddy Christ, you could do something similar to what I did awhile back, make a thread to discuss a specific game or genre of games. Because it is a discussion rather than a LFG it can go in Off-Topic where it is less likely to get pushed to the bottom like in the LFG forum. - Gauss

Plus more people are willing to discuss a product first before jumping in and trying to play it. You could supply examples, picture, and other tidbits about it.
