Character Name : Genesis Appearance : A late twenty-something young woman with long, blonde hair and a clean, polished look. Never a hair out of place or a thread ripped. Clearly taking pride in her looks and her attitude, but can come across as cool and cold. She stands at 5'8'' and has ice cold blue eyes. Primary Cliché ( 4 ) : Nano-Shaman Tools of the Trade : Nanobots, personal computer, variety of books on various subjects, make-up, outfits for every occasion. Notes/Specializations : Nanokinetics: The ability to control not only one's own nanobots, but able to control other nanobots as well. The Right Tool: Not specializing in a certain area, Genesis has the ability to use her nanobots in anyway she sees fit. Cliché (4) : Combat in High Heels Notes/Specializations: The School didn't hide combat from it's students and trained them to fight with a variety of means. For Genesis' benefit, this allowed her to use her nanobots as tools as well as weapons. Although pumped with the idea that talking and using her appeal could get better results, she is not without her means for combat. The School also allowed her to handle herself in social situations, whether it be torture or interrogation, she is able to use her abilities or her looks to get what she needs. Cliché (2 ): Book Smarts Notes/Specializations: Sheltered from the outside world, Genesis only had books to go on about what went on in the space outside her "home". This led her to read a variety of books and gain knowledge on a variety of subjects from science to medicine to history to different sex positions (she read A LOT of different books!) Sidekick (2): Cyrus Axion The closest thing Genesis has to a friend, Cyrus is a sharpshooting, wisecracking gentleman who, much like Genesis, went to the School and was trained. Though they tried, the teachers could never break his spirit or his drive. Cyrus has a bionic eye, allowing him greater ease in shooting the baddies. He also considers Genesis to be like a sister he "may never have had." He also doesn't know of his past beyond the School. Sharpshooter (4): Training and technology has allowed Cyrus to favor guns and use them to incredible lengths. His favorite gun is his Laser Pulse Pistol that he may or may not have gotten illegitimately, but he also has training in other firearms, but doesn't carry them on him as they are "too baggy". Socially Acceptable (2): Unlike his "sister" he relishes social interactions and has been known to deal with the most unsavory types and gotten away with minor rips and tears (a feat to be seen). He also enjoys talking up ladies for his own...personal agenda. Optional details: Admires: The amount of progress that has been made up until this point, looking back to when humanity first dreamed of setting off into the stars and now are exploring planets and interacting with other species. Careful About: Maintaining her appearance, both in looks and attitude. Nothing but the best in every regard. Everything else is failure. Careless About: Interactions with others. Although she tries not to be rude and mean, and though she likes other people and considers some her friends, she comes off as an Ice Queen because that is how she was trained and bred. Curious About: The need to depend on other people, instead of doing everything alone. Despite the weaknesses and trouble it can be to have multiple people in a situation, there is a benefit to it as well that needs to be explored. Dislikes: Anyone who feels they can get what they want the easy way, whether it is by stealing it or maneuvering their way around a task. Hard work is important and valued and most things can't be gained going from Point A to Point B. Embarrassed By: Her past, despite not knowing most of it. She was sent to the lab for a reason and, according to her teachers, it was because she was worthless and common and she needed to be the best in order to receive any recognition. Enjoys: Despite it's relative ease, she enjoys reading and time alone with a good book. Though she won't admit it outright, she doesn't just read books to gain knowledge and has been known to enjoy a good mystery novel or a seductive romance. Favorite Kinds of Excitement: She has been known to enjoy combat from time to time and gets a small thrill from fighting. She also enjoys seeking excitement in different planets and exploring ways that settlement "has fun". Favorite Way to Relax: As above, reading is a huge past time she partakes in, but she also enjoys learning new things, whether it involves history, science, or art. Proud Of: Her training and her accomplishments. She has gone through multiple hurdles to get where she is now and to gain the recognition and praise she has received and doesn't have time for failure. Remembers: Her time in the School and seeing the other children grow and evolve with her. Although it was frowned upon, the children formed a small family with one another and looked to each other for support. That time, however, is long past. Scared Of: Failing when it matters. Failing can lead to disappointment, danger, and death. Any mistake could be tragic and no one should strive for less than the best. Wants To: Explore the world out there and gain more knowledge as she travels. Having been behind the walls of the School for most of her life, she has relatively little knowledge about how the world actually works, other than what she read about. Worries About: Her past coming back to get her. She was sent to the School for a reason. Although a small twinge in her wants to know why, she can't help but feel a sense of danger from her past that could rear its ugly head again. Backstory: "Hustle!" She heard her teacher yell as she ran to catch up to the other students. Sweat dripping from her brow she forced herself to speed up even though her legs were telling her to stop. She trudged forward, but collapsed on the track inside the gymnasium. The other students ran past her without so much as a nod or a helping hand. "Pathetic," was all her teacher could manage to get out, "you'll get nothing unless you are perfect." Her teacher left her there, sweating and crying from the pain. How did she get here? The School. It sounds ominous, and perhaps it is. It isn't on a Galaxy Map anywhere and those who know about it know for a reason. You don't choose the School, the School chooses you. Such is the way of Genesis. What is her real name? That isn't important anymore. She is Genesis and she is perfection. That is all that matters. The School doesn't choose randomly. The students that attend there are chosen for different reasons and those students that walk out of its halls go on to do different things, from military to political, even to janitorial if that's what they choose. The School doesn't care. They want perfection in every form. You have to be the best or you are a failure. Genesis was told she wasn't special. That her parents didn't love her, that she was destined for nothing before the School came and got her, that with the School's help, she could achieve all she dreamed of. The only catch: Perfection. Trained, conditioned, bred, injected, and enhanced, Genesis felt more like a science experiment than a human being. She wasn't some random student, she thought to herself, no random student got that much attention from the teachers. No random student was pushed 24/7. While other students had days off to explore at their leisure and interact with others, she was given no choice but to train. Years went by. Slowly the training took shape. The Genesis from before changed and became new and improved. She knew she was perfect. She knew she was great. Her skills got better, she was able to run faster, fight better, think smarter than her peers. Instead of being labeled as such, she was seen as a role model, something all the students should strive towards. Finally the time came when her purpose was given to her. The Administrator, an older woman who, despite her age, still resembled power and seduction. Her scientists worked quickly, but the results showed themselves instantly. Injected with the Nanobots, she was the first student to receive this gift, and if all went to plan, she wouldn't be the last. Training continued to master her gift. Combat, espionage, maintenance. All forms were given to her Genesis knew no better, knew no other life. A pit deep inside of her ached to find out what really happened to her, what the true purpose of the School was. But the brainwashing of the School took over, until Cyrus came along. Cyrus had been with Genesis since the beginning classes. He admired her from afar, but kept appearances up or be beaten and punished. He sensed something in her that resembled himself and he could never let that go. He played the games, he jumped the hoops put in front of him, if for no other purpose than to make sure in the end, the School payed dearly. The time finally came. In the cover of night, Cyrus snuck out and made his way to Genesis' room. Quickly dispatching any opposition, he entered, only to be met with a punch to the gut to greet him. Before she could finish him, he stated his purpose "I know who you are and I want to help!" Although her training told her to finish him, she let him go to explain. "Later!" he said, "We need to get out of here first, I'll explain everything later." Their escape was loud, Cysus managed to hijack a ship and jettison out of the School's reach before the heavy infantry could get at them. First chance they got, they ditched the ship and made their way to land, a nearby space station. Cyrus explained to her that the School was no good, that it was a place that bred people for their purposes only. Genesis fought every urge to turn back and head back "home" but what hold they had on her broke when Cyrus looked into her eyes. She never looked back. Never had a reason to. Her place was now and in the future. Her and Cyrus both looked for a place they could be. "Somewhere that moves, preferably," Cyrus said with a smile. It was that decision that led them to a ship and it's crew and the destiny that awaited them all. Motivation: Explore the far reaches of the galaxy in pursuit of knowledge Flaws: Unknown Past: Not knowing where you came from can be hard. For Genesis, it's especially hard because, deep down, she knows something happened and that there was a reason the School wanted her. She is both curious and terrified to find out what happened and how she got to the School. The School: She and Cyrus may have left the school behind, but they will be damned if they'll give up on those two. A pet project doesn't just walk away without any scars. It won't be the last time Genesis sees the School.
