The title is self-explanatory. I am constructing a space horror campaign and I am stomped, I have no idea what module or rulebooks I should closely follow. I already know that it will be a homebrewed campaign but I want a specific book to rely on for the foundation of the campaign. I have narrowed it down Call of Cthulhu, Ravenloft, Pathfinder Carrion, and D&D 5e. Here are the pros and cons for each one: Call of Cthulhu Pros: Most tables and features are already built in and has the atmosphere I am looking for Cons: It seems like the modules won't work well with a space campaign since the eras end on Modern days. Ravenloft Pros: Space and future oriented, lots of detail for a space campaign Cons: It seems like the most modern modules use 3.5e? I am very inexperienced with 3.5e and tend to keep my distance to such campaigns, seems like the least horror based from the bunch Pathfinder Carrion Pros: A lot of people like Pathfinder? Cons: I do not know a single thing about Pathfinder, it seems more combat driven, can I make a full campaign off of this? D&D 5e Pros: Very flexible and customizeable (Is that even a legit word or am I spelling it wrong?) Cons: Have to build multiple features and tables from scratch That being said I am just seeking advice on what I should base my campaign off of. I am open to alternative modules or rulebooks, but if you have no alternatives then I am in need of your suggestions/advice/preference. Now I shall go work on the backstory of the campaign while I await the community's response. Edit: P.S. Has anyone tried the modules for Call of Cthulhu 7e? The Investigator and Keeper books?
