LF Player, Eclipse Phase 2nd and 4th Sat.

We play on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. Usually starting at 11 am PST and running for 3-4 hours. I know this is long but I am attempting to give information that generally gets asked.  Players new to the setting are more than welcome. Enthusiasm to play, being a friendly player,  as well as a desire to learn the setting and game are qualities I prefer over experience. This is an Eclipse Phase game and a Non-Fire Wall campaign. My goal is to have this be a long-term campaign. Players are playing as a team for hire starting in the asteroid belt between Jupiter and Mars. PC’s will be able to pick from a variety of jobs. The skill set needed for these jobs will vary. The team is currently working within the asteroid belt so the PC’s can be provided the largest variety of habitats, politics, economies, and societies. Since the PC's are working for themselves they will need to be conscious of the resources they consume, the most important being morphs. Story arcs will be derived from multiple sources such as jobs the team accepts, backstories, PC motivation’s, disadvantages, advantages as well as happenings throughout the solar system. Do not expect stories to be linear and always set out neatly in perfect order and aligned for the PC’s convenience. They may be messy and difficult to put together. Some may be out of the teams league and they will need to run if they wish to survive. Some jobs will allow the team to shine and show off the skills they possess. Others will be a cluster fuck that no member of the team is prepared for. The type of skills to complete each job will vary. Being able to do more than one thing will be useful and keep players involved in game play if their primary skill(s) is not currently needed. The game is currently being rebooted, so I am not sure of all the roles currently being considered and filled. The campaign is based within the asteroid belt as of now and has its own ship. Also we have only played a few sessions so far. I do want to point out all players will be making characters with skill and aptitude caps. I allow for 3 skills at 70 with the rest capped at 65. Aptitudes capped at 25. This is not written in stone but something I would like to stick to, nonetheless feel free to ask if you need to go beyond the caps. For those that do not know, EP is a game about Transhumanism with post-apocalyptic, conspiracy, and horror themes. "Eclipse Phase is a post-apocalyptic roleplaying game of transhuman conspiracy and horror. Humans are enhanced and improved, but humanity is battered and bitterly divided. Technology allows the reshaping of bodies and minds and liberates us from material needs, but also creates opportunities for oppression and puts the capability for mass destruction in the hands of everyone. Many threats lurk in the devastated habitats of the Fall, dangers both familiar and alien." (pages 18 and 19 of core EP book) Eclipse Phase homepage Eclipse Phase PDF's thanks to the Creative Commons License As I have stated earlier I have given the team their own ship. It is a GEV on page 348. It only has one desktop CM ( a nano fabricator ) which is not functioning at max capacity. The GEV has been modded for flight in the asteroid belt to handle the debris found in them including micro asteroids. It is also slightly larger than usual and with one big room. Because the team is primarily working around and within the Asteroid belt currently and a team for hire, Credits and Rep are both equally important. Your PC's are responsible for buying their gear, No Firewall means NO Free Gear. In addition to the GEV, everyone gets Tacnet for free as well. Lastly if your not too familiar with the game the game publisher has the pdf's for the game out for free and they are very good quality. Links to the PDF's . So take a look and see if the game is for you. Be forewarned that I like to bring in Mature Content/Adult Content to my games. So those that are not comfortable with this or under 18, perhaps this is not the game for you. If you have questions by what I mean by Mature content. here is an answer: I'll try my best to answer your question. My default storytelling method is sandboxing but for this EP game I am going to try to run missions and do some planning. The reason why this is important is that I dont know exactly how I will use such latitude exactly yet. Sex or the implication of sex happening for me is a given in story lines. As far as i can tell, even in EP sex can still be a driving force and motivator just like modern times. that said I know that some people dont even like that in their rpg's. I am referring to the implied sex. I am talking about darker issues. For some even the strangeness of bringing up the Neotenics, a childlike morph, might be uncomfortable. I know this because I was already told this by a prospective player. I am open to bringing up issues such as rape, child abuse, mentally devastating someone, or even extreme acts of violence. It is possible i will not touch on these at all but I like to have as many options open when i start thinking of plot hooks and then carrying them out. I generally do not believe in bringing up these kinds of topics just for shock value. I will also attempt to not treat them in an immature manner thinking it will be funny or cute. I would also like to state that I will try to avoid going into extreme detail when it comes to topics that are considered uncomfortable, unless I feel it is necessary for the story. In other words, I would like to think I do not be gross just for the sake of being gross and shocking just to attempt to shock. Also just because I do not want to be shocking a player may decide to be, I am not always in full control as to when these topics come up or not. I cannot say i will be able to warn any player(s) before it comes up because I do not know what the players are thinking of doing. I am aware that I may not be doing a good job at explaining myself but I hope I am making some coherent sense. In the end I saw that EP could be a dark game that can touch on difficult and uncomfortable topics, which is something I look for in rpg's. If possible, over time, I would like to explore these topics but I do not want to make players feel sick or disgusted either. That is fun for no one and everyone having fun is what I primarily strive for. If I am still not clear enough for you then feel free to ask any question if you like.
I'd be interested in playing. Always had the books, but could never done anyone who wanted to play. Only have cursory experience with the system, though
The game is at max capacity currently.  Thank you.
Hows the game going? still live? Any spots? Throw me on the waiting list if you get an opening.
I'd be interested as well if there are still spots around. Though what format is this going to be, text only or voice?
The game is still full currently.   I can put both of you onto my waitlist if you wish.   As for the format it is done over Roll20's Voice for the majority of the time.
