Map Image Improperly Scaled on iPad Retina

Logged into my desktop as a GM, and on an iPad Retina as a PC.  The desktop system functions as expected.  The iPad has the tokens and the dynamic lighting boundaries in the correct location, but the map image is not scaling properly. This is the screen shot of the desktop system map.  Tokens are properly spaced, dynamic lighting in effect, and the background map image is scaled properly. Desktop running WinXP SP3 32-bit using Chrome 28.0.1500.72. This is the same screenshot taken from an iPad Retina.  The tokens and dynamic lighting display correctly, but the map image has been scaled incorrectly, effectively placing my tokens 24 units south (and slightly east) of where they should be and into uncharted territory. iPad running iOS 6.1.3 using default Safari browser.
Following up, i checked another map i recently uploaded (using the same systems as above).  The map was segmented into 2x8 tiles.  The position of each tile seems to accurate, and the horizontal scaling appears correct.  The vertical scaling has been compressed.  On this particular map, a zoom level of 30% or less displays the map accurately.  Anything greater than 30% compresses each image vertically. iPad screen at 40%. iPad screen at 30%. Player tokens (1 unit x 1 unit) appear normally and in the correct position at any zoom level.
Hi, Matt .  I just wanted to double check -- you're using safari, correct?  And was it an iPad 1 or 2?
Third Generation iPad, iOS 6.1.3, Safari browser.
