Player Questions & Concerns.

I believe the problem lies on the 2gp per day. I have no idea on how map scribing will work, but scribe scroll explicits that it takes you 1 day per 1000g of scroll worth (limited to 1 scroll/day) [If you fail the roll, you just don't scribe and lose all the materials]. For the mission, I engraved the ship here and there, not using the unchained system, mind you, and the progress was made on a weekly basis, based on the roll, the DC and the target value. I guess every item has its gold progress per day :/

yeah but keep in mind for scrolls your limiting factor is your level .. so you can really only spend 12.5 gp for a 25gp scroll at level 1 daily and this is a magic item that requires a feat and has restrictions .. In looking at the old crafting system you should average 2gp per day with that kind of skill level for that type of item .. it should take you quite a few weeks to get there .. 3-4 using the old crafting you take a 10 for a 15 and the DC is 15 so you multiply them .. you need to get 50 gold (500 silver) and 15x15 = 225 silver and it would take you 2 weeks. so .. this is a case where the old crafting system may win out .. however .. you might consider a map is not a normal mundane adventuring gear item and place it in the complex category (DC 20) and 4gp progress per day. If you were skilled enough to take a 10 and get a 20 (your mapmaking kit should give you +2) then you would average 28gp / week and make the map in under 2 weeks which may make more sense for such a skilled item valued at 50 gold. I mean consider why is a map that expensive in the first place.
Would it be possible to make lower-quality maps that would be worth less than 50 gp, so making it as a 1st level character is easier to do without taking over two weeks per map?
A 50 to map would only take 12.5 to to make.
What do you mean, the crafter only has to earn 1/4 of the item's full value?
I've changed my downtime log, instead of a full map I made survival kits. If I've acted improperly, or not fulfilling the quest's rules, please point it out.
Kirby V. said: A 50 to map would only take 12.5 to to make. right . but you still have to make checks until you reach the full value amount . of 50 gp .. just to clarify so there isn't any confusion.

I changed what I was crafting from a map to a common survival kit, to better suit my mediocre crafting skill. Pezzack is designed for exploration, his best skills are Perception and Survival, so not being a super-crafter is okay.
Are these boats leaving from Golarion? If not, what kinds of places and countries are sending ships? It would help with background and character creation a bit.
Golarion for sure
Leaving various ports in the inner sea .. making way to an unexplored region .. ships will come each week or so with new settlers

I'm concerned the new rule for initiative paired with surprise rolls will leave someone completely out of a fight and favor already strong options(archers and spell casters). Anyway my question is can you partial charge during the first full round if you can only do a standard action due to initiative?

unless you roll a 5 or less on initiative you should be fine .. If you are able to take only a standard action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed) and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. You can't use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action on your turn.
In the outpost it says we can buy non MW items, are animals considered items? I am thinking about horses for transportation(as opposed to mastodons or other exotic creatures).
Purchase limit is based on the base value which is 10gp. So .. since a horse costs 75gp it would not be available .. A chicken costs 1gp so there is a 75% chance it is on hand and if not you can "order" a chicken to arrive the next week FYI - you can purchase a horse to bring with you using your starting gold.

Ok that clears it up, I was assuming that but the book only talked about magic items. " Base Value and Purchase Limit : This section lists the community's base value for available magic items in gp"
The book does make that distinction but in our case I think that we want to develop a better economy and need to have general restrictions on all items based on the base value which will increase as the town grows. Of course, items you guys create and NPCs have in NPC stores are available for purchase regardless of price.
What about crafting materials. Are they restricted too? If I want to build a weapon do I have to wait until the base value is high enough to allow 1/4th the cost I need in materials?
If you want to build a weapon you will also need access to a workshop and a forge, depending on the weapon.
Something I was wondering, what's the hex-to-map ratio? Like, when Pezzack makes a map of hexes he's explored, how many hexes can one map hold?

Ben H. said: What about crafting materials. Are they restricted too? If I want to build a weapon do I have to wait until the base value is high enough to allow 1/4th the cost I need in materials? I would assume the individual material components are less than 10 gp each so you are fine with crafting .. that is not something i want to necessarily limit because I want the players to drive the economy to some degree Eeyore! P. said: Something I was wondering, what's the hex-to-map ratio? Like, when Pezzack makes a map of hexes he's explored, how many hexes can one map hold? You can make maps of individual hexes with details .. each hex is 12 miles across. or a map of the overall area known where hexes would have less detail in them.
Naessae said: If you want to build a weapon you will also need access to a workshop and a forge, depending on the weapon. Yes .. please make sure you have the necessary tools for any crafting you do.
1 hex for one 50 gp map is okay for now. I'd like the maps to have some benefit to PCs who buy them, like a small bonus to certain Survival checks in the area they cover. Basically if they're useful then I think I can make some gold from them.
Okay, now that we're on the cusp of landfall, I want to get some clarification on how exploration works. Here are some questions: 1) Once a day (or more) has been spent exploring a hex, does travel to the next hex have to happen before another hex can be explored? For example, could I explore hex -01.01 one day, then explore -02.01 the next day, or does there have to be a day of travel in between to change hexes? B) On more recent rules, if it takes a week to reveal what exploration finds, does that mean that, for week 1, only the hexes currently revealed can be explored? Like, can I explore hex -02.01 and -02.00 during week 1, or do I have to wait until week 2 for those hexes to become available? III) Can Survival be used to any effect while a hex is being explored? Could I, for example, forage for food on the same day that I explore the hex, or does the exploration preclude any other non-mission downtime-like actions from taking place?
a) travel applies to getting to hexes depending on the time to travel per hex. once in a hex you can explore it with exploration time. travel time between hexes should be applied and documented in your downtime log as travel. b) i plan to reveal hexes each week although I understand you could conceivably continue exploring in a line, by making it update weekly I can more easily develop quests and missions and keep up with downtime posts. This is probably just going to have to work this way for the system to work out and not overwhelm me . .We may just have to suspend disbelief on that point. c) You can do things in a hex that you could normally do while your character is there like foraging. if you bring a portable alchemy lab you can craft alchemy etc.
For our non-exploring days on Monday and Tuesday, can we begin construction on a room, or build capital?
yes .. anything that does not involve exploration may be started .. you actually do land monday but I am opening missions and explorations wed because i need to finish a few things before you do. crafting and building should be fine to do now.
When using KP for the room reward. When does it appear? Immediately, after the number of days it takes to build, next week, other?
All rooms requested and built are "activated" at the next update .. So if you build a Farm this week it is available after the next update. If you request a room it is built this week and then "available" next week.
Any skill translates into "skilled labor" correct?
I believe name wants to know if he can use disable device to generate money. Like craft can.

If you do to think page linked in the downtime thread. There is a section that states what skills can be used to generate what. Here is a copy and paste of that section. Goods : Appraise , Bluff , Craft , Diplomacy , Disable Device , Handle Animal , Intimidate , Knowledge (dungeoneering, engineering, geography, history, local, nature, nobility, religion), Profession , Sleight of Hand , Stealth . Influence : Appraise , Bluff , Craft , Diplomacy , Handle Animal , Heal , Intimidate , Knowledge (any), Linguistics , Perform , Profession , Ride . Labor : Bluff , Climb , Craft , Diplomacy , Handle Animal , Intimidate , Knowledge (local), Profession , Ride , Survival , Swim . Magic : Appraise , Craft , Diplomacy , Heal , Knowledge (arcana, dungeoneering, nature, planes, religion), Linguistics , Profession , Spellcraft , Use Magic Device . That being said it has to makes sense in context. So using Disable Device to gather metal from armed traps all day or something might be feasable, but using it to gain food or water might not make sense.

I have some questions regarding building: - Are the Inn and Town hall buildings usable by everyone, or are they owned by someone? - If I'm building something, and I buy capitol with gold, does the purchased capitol add inmediately to the building (Like if I paid for the full cost with gold) or do I have to commit more days to adding it to the building? Also, does buying capitol take downtime... time? - Do the workers start working in the building when the first capitol arrive, or do I have to put all the capitol in the buildplace to start?

Also, does buying capitol take downtime... time? - Do the workers start working in the building when the first capitol arrive, or do I have to put all the capitol in the buildplace to start? Buildings like the INN and TOWN HALL do not belong to anyone in particular. They are community buildings. In the case of the INN, it will produce capitol for the kingdom each week and if you own a share of the inn you will get some money each week based on that share. This amount is based on population size which is based on number of buildings in the Location. Any building you BUILD on your OWN probably does not award KP and therefore is your own property and you can rent it out/use it however you like. It WILL however contribute to the overall size of the town so it will have a general impact on population. If you want a building you build all by yourself to be "available" to the town - like a forge for example - you should let other players know they can use it. If you want to charge a fee you should let them know how much it is. These owned buildings should be listed as STORE ASSETS on your store page. You may build the building as capitol is available. If you make it in downtime it is available anytime after that point .. if you purchase capitol it is available immediately. Capitol is SPENT on the building on a day by day basis as you use your downtime to build (or your workers) Buying capitol DOES not take time. It is like making a transaction to buy an item which does not require any time per say
I think some people might like to know this rule. Identifying Potions : In addition to the standard methods of identification, PCs can sample from each container they find to attempt to determine the nature of the liquid inside with a Perception check. The DC of this check is equal to 15 + the spell level of the potion (although this DC might be higher for rare or unusual potions).

Not a GM, but I skimmed it a bit, and there are some things: We use 20 point build, we have extra feats, equipment... It's all summed up here: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2612240/2-creati... The 3rd party material has to be approved, but it usually is, so, I don't think that will be a problem. Also, we are allowing unchained, if you want to use it instead of the normal rogue.
3rdd party material? I got all of my stuff off of an online version of the Pathfinder PHB, though. o3o;
You will want to create your journal entry .. then add your character information (necessary information at least) onto the character sheet in the journal. you can keep your characters on other type documents as long as you link them and the main info is on roll 20 to be accessed by GMs
The VTT isn't cooperating with me, probably because of how many people are on it right now. So I haven't been able to set up my sheet, or participate in any real-time RP.
Yeah, I think the problem is that there is FAR too much information in the Journal tab for my craptop to handle. It would be best if all the bestiary, etc. journals were elsewhere, such as in a forum, because I don't see how it's necessary to have them there.
It's necessary so that we can run encounters in the VTT.
The first time load might be really long .. I think after that it is not too bad .. Anyone else having major loading issues .. are they continual or one time when I update things? Both my laptop and computer and tablet seem to handle the VTT fine so I'm not sure if others have this issue.
Well, then, you need to hide it from all but the GM, because, again, I don't have the RAM for it, and until there's a solution, there's no way I can play.
The players need access to see the entries to determine if they hit the AC to post in character .. and they have to adjust the HP of the creatures they hit so they need to see them and be able to edit their tokens. Try and let it load for a bit one time .. and then try to reload and see if it is still long or if it is much faster the second time .. i think once it downloads the information it is faster the second time .. but i am not sure .. I realize loading is a thing but when I have had long load times in the past they seem to be absent when I load a second time because it is in the computer cache.
When I've played, the GM just says whether they hit or not, and adjusts HP accordingly. Every time I load the page, it's barely a second before I get the big, red error message that says that my connection to the server has been cut. If you put the bestiary entries in the forum, then they can use it for reference there. It's just another tab to have open, as opposed to an unresponsive tab for some players.
Well .. with this system there will not be a GM on necessarily when you take your turn. It is up to you to decide if you hit or not based on the information in the bestiary .. this is the only way asynchronous posting is possible without having to wait for a GM every time you want to post. That bogs down the posting protocols.. I'm sorry you are having problems but I don't think the other 30 people are having an issue so I'm not sure that it is the way I have it set up .. I think it is more of the computer on your end and your internet connection. If it is not working, I'm sorry. Better luck in the future. If this was a system general issue I would make changes but the other players have not had issues .. I have no issues from my phone, ipad, computer at home or laptop ..
