SPLASH!

I had better be ready to protect her in case this nymph is  hostile Armand thinks to himself in reference to Tania Armand moves a little close to Tania and prepares to shield her if something goes wrong.
The captain shouted towards Prytania Tell her thanks but that but will be going that way.  Taking the ship past that formation is the only way to ensure we find our destination.  Some strange magic emanates from those stones allow us clear passage.   Of course we may have to deal with these creatures that seem to have taken up residence.   If she means us no harm then we plan to return the favor .   The nymph looked puzzled. Where are you going of you aren't lost?  If you plan to head to that way you may find more trouble than you care to find.   The nymph continued to swim along side the ship as it past by the formation.  Suddenly she got a worried expression on her face and offered a warning before returning to the protection of the waters.  I think you have company coming.  A dozen or so.  Prepare yourselves.
Hearing, " If you plan to head to that way you may find more trouble than you care to find." , Issachar sprints to the top of the forecastle stairs, nocking his bow and scanning the water ahead for targets. (OOC: Perception 12, Initiative 5)
Sensing trouble, Harold meets up with Flint in the middle of the deck.  Upon touching Flint's head, blue energy flows from Harold, through the great cat, and into his claws, which maintain a faint blue glow.  As Harold turns from the cat to see dangers lurk in their path, his eyes shift and become more like a bird of preys. //Cast Magic Fang (claws) on Flint and activated Animal Focus (Falcon) [Initiative 22, Perception 14]

Pezzack gives the captain a sidelong glance at his statement of holding course. "You're the leader, so it's your call, but if we are attacked, any deaths are on your head." With that, Pezzack moved towards the middle of the deck, near Madella and Harold. "I feel a little safer by my fellow outdoorsmen. We shall use our natural gifts to defend this ship. We must be cautious, though, as the nymph's warning could also be a kind of mischief." With that, Pezzack drew out his sling, and began spinning in over his head, readying an attack with one of his magic stones against any small threat that comes at the ship from the quickly approaching rocks. (Initiative 14.03, Perception 18)
Zordlon continues hiding so he can suprise anything that attempts to board

He prepares and releases another attack but misses widely. (init: 19, Perception 22)

Will quickly moves away from the edge of the ship towards the middle where people seemed to be grouping up. As he was moving he removed his bow from his shoulder and readied an arrow. ((OOC: Initiative Check - 12 Perception Check - 8 ))

As the crew and passengers prepared for trouble, they looked around the ship .. several small creatures emerged from seemingly beneath the ship and began scaling the walls with javelins, daggers and nets in their mouths or at their side.  They appeared to be blue goblins, but seemed to climb using octopus-like legs, wrapping their suckered tentacles around strange rocky barnacles they placed on the wooden sides of the Iron Kelpie as they advanced.  Due to the odd shape of the ship, it was hard to get a good luck at the creatures until they were almost at the ledges.  From the sounds of it, there were more climbing behind the first wave. Cromp naw shintaraghan!  (Aquan) They exclaimed in unision as they came into view, hissing at the onlookers.  // Note - If you speak aquan you can translate in the strange translations journal handout otherwise do not look :)

The tentacled creatures suddenly started to climb the ship, but the prow was too crowded to manouver, and Prytania couldn't get near any creature. (" None coming from here, check the sides! ") - she shouted. She waited until all attention was centered on the creatures, turned her back on her shipmates and quickly drew the unholy symbol from her pocket. she held it barely hanging from her hand slightly below face height. It's silvery shine always comforted her; Prytania started to pray, her words inspiring whomever heard them into battle. As she finished the prayer, the symbol that was shining by itself at this point, faded into it's normal state. Prytania quickly placed it back on her pocket and prepared to sheathe her sword. (OOC . INIT: 6) (OOC. Prytania casts bless: +1 to all attack rolls for 1 minute. The only unaffected characters are Alizebeth and the captain, that are too far away :()

"Cromp naw shintaraghan!"  "None coming from here, check the sides!"  Ren spins around too see a few goblin like creatures scaling the iron kelpie. Dammit more shenanigans.  His ear's perk up before getting too far away. What is that? A quick look back confirms what he thought was happening, the young cleric had her hands together praying. Not bad, Steping lightly, Ren dashes to the stairs before making a sharp right down, placing himself within 5m of one of the grindylows. there are more of us on top, I'll let the people there deal with the two coming from the top. Just coming over the top was one of the goblins. With a quick flick of the wrist Ren brings his katana that into slashing position, still behind his body. The moment the Goblin is in range Ren bring's his sword forward, slashing lightly across the creature's face, disfiguring it. Blood gushes out. The limbs of the grindylow go limb as it slowly falls back into the ocean.  Tch, these aren't any tougher than the one's on land.  Init: 21 Attack: 22 (+1 from Bless) Damage: 8
When they reached the top of the ship Will decided it was his time to move. He shifted his footing slightly towards one of the creatures to be in a better position to shoot at it and released the arrow from his bow.  It must have been longer than he thought it had been since he had last shot off an arrow from this bow because the arrow flew very wide landing with a tiny splash in the ocean beyond. "That was a warning shot!" Will said as he tried to cover up how rusty he was with the bow. ((Attack - 9 BIG WHIFF))
Lyon hearing that there might be enemies comming onboard takes out his falchion and takes a slight step further to the center of the boat, prepearing to strike any opponent that might be unlucky eanough to come within his reach. (Init 19, Prepeared action to Attack; Atk 17 Dmg 10)
As the beasts come over the sides of the ship, Pezzack lets fly with his first stone, giving a glancing blow on one of the beasts. Knowing that there were likely more water-goblins in waiting ahead of them, and speed was of the essence, the young druid drew a feather from his belt pouch. Rubbing the feather and activating its magic, Pezzack summons a magical fan to add its force to the wind powering the ships sails, hopefully shortening the time the ship is under attack.
Azariah, spotting one of the creatures climbing over the rim of the ship unabated, ran straight for it. As he did, his head morphed into his wolfen state, and - snarling and slavering - he arrived before it. His first bite caught its shoulder, and crushed it to the bone, he wrenched it into the air, and bit down a second time, catching its skull, and feeling it burst beneath his jaws. The transformed Tiefling growled and shook his head side to side for a moment before releasing the body to fall beneath the waves. (Missed Init Round) Attack rolls 20, 21 Damage 6, 14
Alizebeth looked to the creatures for several moments, squinting at the suckers as she responded in their own language. A few choice words before looking out to the rest of the group. "They intend to feed us to their young. Perhaps now would be a good time to dispatch of them?" She lifts her hands slightly, backing away as she brings her index finger up to her lips, staring at the closest to whisper, "Shh..." (DC 15 v: Sleep)
Pezzack looks down at the strange goblin-like creature he had struck with his sling, which he lets fall to the ground. He moves to engage the creature as he draws his blade, running alongside Madella as the two druids moved to defend the seasick Alizebeth. Pezzack tries to strike him with his wakizashi sword, but the creature easily dodged. As the creature bobbed and weaved, however, it moved closer to Madella's sword... (Attack roll 6)
Madella sees that Alizbeth is alone on the East side of the boat and runs alongside Pezzack. "Charge, Bitey!" Madella calls out as she runs up the stairs, her pet velociprator in toe. Madella squares off with a Grindylow (Grindylow 3), taking advantage of the openeing created by Pezzack, while Bitey claws at another (Grindylow 1) // Madella hits AC 20 VS Grindylow 3 for 8 slashing dmg. Bitey hits AC 16 VS Grindylow 1 for 4dmg.
Harold watches as the able bodied adventurers leap to the defense of the Iron Kelpie.  As each creature rise to the deck, a combatant is there, ready to stop it's assault.  After a moment, Harold notices that while no creatures are there yet, there is a small chink in the defensive line and so he and Flint move to fill that space, as he does his eyes adjust back to normal and his nose flares out and his shoulder's widen and he lets out a snort . //Swift action to shift animal focus from falcon to bull

GM POST DAY 1 EVENING SLOT 1am-9am EST  They just kept coming .. as grindylow fell linto the ocean, sliced or diced or filleted it mattered not..another took its place.   More of the aquatic menaces poured onto the boat.  Thorm, the master gunner shot one directly in the face but it kept coming at him with a raised spear.  Lyon successfully repelled an intruder slicing his falchion deep into its gut leaving it flopping about on the boat deck.  One took a spear and thrust it into Alizebeth and the Captain ran over, chopping the spear arm right off the creature leaving the spear stuck inside the winter witch who gasped in pain.  Another one came up behind her. Cromp naw shintaraghan! - the chants grew louder
One of the foul abominations clambers over the railing so suddenly, Issachar takes a step back.  As he does, he stumbles over a deck shackle, causing his shot to go wide. (Attack:7). Seeing the overwhelming number of the beasts, Issachar drops his bow and falls into a rage.

Even more creatures rushed to the deck. Prytania could spot a grindylow climbing through the headfigure. She focused negative energy into her hand and tried to grab it, but the creature was too slippery for her. After a quick turn, the grindilow managed to board the ship.
Flint, kill this one  Harold yells as he dashes to aid Alizebeth.  Harold takes several swipes at the creature climbing up the side, but misses with each attack.  Harold runs to Alizebeth and as he touches her shoulder green energy flows into her, gathering around her wounds and seems to close some of them. //Cure Light wounds for 4 on Alizebeth
Azariah, spotting a second grindylow confronting Ren, charges the creature from behind. All concepts of a fair duel out the window against these disgusting creatures. The wolfen tiefling came up behind it, clamping his jaws around its neck from behind and lifting it well into the air, shaking it side to side for a moment before throwing it to the ground in a bloodied heap atk roll 16 vs ac 15 12 damage dealt, enemy reduced to -6
OOC to hit 18 damage 5 IC: Getting an angle on a grindylow (#4) Zordlon takes a shot the arrow tearing through the beasts muscle and flesh though the grindylow remains alive.

Will, being a little frustrated from his first miss turns as he hears that someone had been stabbed up by the captain, it was Alizebeth.  Feeling the need to protect the lady Will launches an arrow off towards the creature that is nearest to her. Duck Harold! he yells as he fires the arrows over Harold's shoulder sending it into the creature, the arrow ripped through the creature's chest leaving a hole straight through as it tumbled back into the sea. ((1st Rapid Shot Roll - 24(crit) Crit Confirm Roll - 21 Damage Roll - 5, 10, 5  Grindylow #10)) Will, hearing another one of these vile creatures climbing onto the boat near him, spins on his heel and fires another arrow directly into the recently boarded creature. Another for the sea Will cries as the arrow strikes true sending the creature back down into the depths where it belongs. ((2nd Rapid Shot Roll - 19 Damage Roll - 10 Grindylow #12))
1am -9am POST and 9am-5pm Viggo Draws his sword and strikes at the nearest thing. His attack misses. Viggo swings again, with determination in his eyes. His attack fails to hit, his nemesis chortling and writhing out of reach. Perhaps he can distract it enough for Qualstar to hit.
Seeing more creatures arriving, Pezzack dashes across the deck to assist Viggo. He swings at the grindylow, but the nimble wretch dances just outside the arc of the blade. (Attack 13)

As Ren finished off the first grindylow, a second took it's place, however right when Ren turned to face it he heard someone rush down the stairs. The grindylow was lifted off the ground like a ragdoll. Well, doesn't he work fast.  Before the grindylow hit's the ground Ren scans his surroundings for other critter, on the other-side of the boat, there was another surrounded. Ren dashed over and making another quick slash at the grindylow's head. The grindlylow realizes a moment too late, it's head is sparated from it's body as it fall's over lifeless.  Moved to grindylow 8 Attack - 15 (+1 Bless)  Damage - 11
In his effort to protect his friend Tania, he missed with his wild swing of his hammer. (Attack 5)
The captain pulled out his sidearm, aiming squarely at the last grindylow coming aboard a loud blast followed by a gargled death throw and it was all over.   Well that was most unpleasant.  throw em overboard and clean up their guts .. I don't want this place stinking any worse than you lot do. With the present threat eliminated the captain continued course but paused .. "So," Madella asks, "Who's in the mood for seafood?"
Zordlon likes sushi though he dislikes clamari.
Rusty starts cleaning up the mess. First pushing the disgusting things overboard then scrubbing up any mess.   He will not fight with any one or their pets if they grab parts for themselves.
