The Silver Harp

I'm William, but people called me Kid. Im a sharpshooter, i only very rarely miss an attack. But i mainly stay at range, I also love some beers.

OOC:      Iss is right, we can't have 7. We could split into 3-4? If any of you have a cohort or something it could be 4-4. If it really doesn't work out I'll have Page sit out. 

OOC: I'll sit out.  You guys go.  I've got other stuff Fizzy can work on.

OOC :      Okay, so we are going to use the Lion. If you are still interested, please add your name to the token on the VTT. This is going to be (effectively) my first time doing exploration so it may take a bit longer.      On another note, is there any specific route anyone wants to take? Or a specific direction someone wants to go? If not I'll just try to get the most squares explored possible. 

OOC id prefer to avoid the areas other groups are already working on, so probably heading south or something

WE GO NOW?  OOC we should probably explore south, and then scout further down there, since the other two teams are doing exploration in the NE. Alternatively, we could re-explore stuff to get loot and resources. if we do so, we will need to know everyone's take-10 perception, knowledge geography,  survival, profession cartographer, and base land speed. We will also need to decide how long we will be out. we can go for maximum of 29 days for people who went on missions. Our NPC's will keep capitol from decaying so no worried there. I need to know all of this right away, because we only have a day left to finish ALL of our exploring AND random encounters and such. I can do all the math for us, but i need information beforehand.

OOC I apologize for starting late, I wasn't able to get one today till now. Ren and Page will both be taking 10 on perception. Ren - Page Perception: 19 - 13 Geography: 10 - 16 Survival: 12 - 13 Land Speed: 40 - 30 I was planning on going for 25 days. That sound fine to everyone? 

Kid puts his meal down, and drinks his beers. Let's get going then, shall we?.

OOC need group to meet at some point today to run live encounter if group never meets, amy and ren and kirby will run on our own, with very little care for you lives

Shinon walked back into the Harp after the mission.  Nobody was around.  She shrugged and went to the bar.   Can I have a glass of wine with some food please?   She said with a smile on her face.

Rauno pulls a wine glass out and pours the perfect amount into the glass, giving the bottle a little twist as the last drop falls.  With a flourish he puts the bottle away and places the glass in front of Shinon.   We'll have some fresh bread and stew out for you in a few minutes.

Thank you!   She said with a big smile as she sipped the wine, looking around still seeing nobody back from going out.

Rauno comes from the back, bearing the stew and a couple of hot rolls.   Quiet day so far, it's sure to pick up shortly though.  If you don't mind, I think I'll play a song to while away the time.   That said he moves to the other end of the bar and pulls down his very plain looking lute.  Moving to the stage he plucks a few strings before starting his song.  In Varisian he sings: Naj ma shela me te lav de mange tu tyira sha de mange tu tyira sha, te na desla ingravla Having heard the song from the back, Esmerelda comes out with a tambourine and begins keeping time, joining her voice with Rauno's as she dances to the music. Si ma shela me te lav de mange tu tyira sha de mange tu tyira sha te na desla csoravla Ah, reminds me of home  Esmerelda says as they finish the song.   Well, now, these inns don't tend themselves, we'll have customers before long, always lots to do.   Nimbly he hops from the stage and replaces the lute on the wall.

She applauded once they were finished.   Very well done!   She wish that she knew what they were saying during the song but she loved it anyways!

((OOC)) Calling all players, we should figure out what missions we want to complete in the next section, and this is the place to do it. If people dont fill out at least half a mission, it doesn't run, and that means you have to sign up for something you might not really want to do. Obviously, the Kobold fortress will be running with a very similar team, if not the same. The rest of you should talk here and figure out which missions people are hoping to accomplish. Doing this regularly will make it easier to build balanced teams for missions, and increase survivability of teams.

Kabril has chosen to seek gemstones.  Kabril likes the gemstones, and he wishes to continue working with Miss Scarlet.

You notice many signs around town reminding you that the Silver Harp is updating the mission boards and Rauno is offering 2 free rounds of drinks to any adventurers who come in tonight to sign up for a mission.  As you arrive, Rauno is at the door, welcoming each of you with his ever present smile.  You notice that one side of the main room has been renovated with a large door leading to the stable area, a slightly taller ceiling and a custom made chair.  A couple of young guys are tending the bar and several young ladies with serving trays are moving about the room.  Esmerelda is on the stage, chatting with a few musicians who appear about to start playing.  You hear Rauno behind you, Ladies and Gentlemen, we are in for a true treat tonight, my sister is going to sing for us as you decide how to spend your time.  Remember, the first 2 rounds are on the house and a fresh rabbit stew will be served shortly.  Oh, if only we could get a hold of some Bison, then we could make some real treats.  Ah, well, enjoy all.   As Rauno finishes speaking the band starts softly playing and Esmerelda starts singing.  The missions board has been moved to the middle of the room, so that everyone can see it easier.   - Holding your breath (Level 3, Challenge) - Dark Shadow from Above  (Level 5, Challenge) -Gemstone Mines (Level 2, Kingdom) - Kobold Stronghold Part 2 (Level 5, Challenge - Already full) - Underground Tunnels (Level 3, Kingdom) - Dire Tiger Lair (Level 7, Standard) - What a Boar! A dashing young gnome with an amazing mustache and a very fancy hat walks in, accepts a free mug of Ale and goes to check out the message board.  Noticing Kabril nearby he nods towards him.   Good evening sir, Bebblebrox is the name, just off the boat.  My uncle said I should come here to find some work.  Looks like you've signed up for the mines, mind if I join you?  I've been told that my tongue can be sharp, but I assure you that my blade is sharper. I hear something valuable might have washed up near the coast. Anyone else interested in going? I have strong arms, but would enjoy the company of someone(s) more experienced on the water.  Holding Your Breath

Good day, Master Bebblebrox.  Kabril would be delighted if you join him to search out the richness of this land.  

Sellion would begin making his way through town, noticing the posts about the updated mission board as it seemed there was thing needing done in this up in coming settlement. Upon reading the board, he would then make his way to the tavern to acquire some information about the current standings of the town as the handsome young elf walked inside, looking around as he carried his kitten in his arms before then approaching the tavern owner. " Excuse me, I am quite new in town but I had seen that you are in needing of assistance with some matters. I wished to inquire with you about the current state of the settlement as it seemed you need some hunting done.. are you in need of food? "

SCOURGE LIKES GEM. WE GO SOON. CLEAR CAVES.  SCOURGE plans on heading to the gemstone mines. ((the new arrivals, and lower level characters should get together for bison migration, or what a boar.))

Shinon strolls into the bar.  Looking at the different jobs available.   Well I don't think I can handle those... Is anyone looking for some bison or a boar?  

Sellion would turn as he heard someone mention the posting about the bison as he raised is hand " I was inquiring about the bison.. but I was curious if the town was in need of food before going out and trying to track them. If there is no need for food for furs then I see no need in hunting a animal for no reason. "

Zordlon, having heard the Silver Harp posted some missions, walks into the bar and signs up to go to the buffalo (buffalos?). "Well looks like I'm going to go help find food. I might actually be decent at this."

Shinon turned over to Sellion, while there is food, sometimes you will need to find something to eat besides a rabbit.  Plus, we will always need food with more people coming in.   She didn't want to say too much to scare the new guy.  After the last mission and seeing the old man... who knew what plans were here and what would happen to them.  

Sellion nodded " Well if there is need for food and fur then I will help aid in the tracking and hunting of the bison. I might as well make myself useful whilst getting a feel for the place, if you wish to bring others and accompany me it would be of great help. They aren't easy animals to take down and I would wish to take them down as quickly as possible, less suffering for them that way. " Having said that, Sellion then made his way to sign up for the hunt of the bison, jotting down his name and Kiba's on the paper.

Shinon smiled.   I'm in.  The Gods know we will need more food with more people showing up.   She signed up for the bison mission also.  She then walked over to the bar.   Can I have the first of my two free glasses of wine please?

Destra has set up a fortress of journals, loose parchment and scrivening tools at a smoky table next to a window. She is dividing her time between council recommendations and a personal letter in a much older and esoteric language: Such astounding progress! It is better than we could have hoped! I have been honored of with a seat on the governing council of this colony.  My words must have moved these people in ways I could not have predicted.  He has empowered me in this, I am certain.  We may not have to live and worship in secrecy for long, if at all.  I pray this letter reaches you well. Travel safely and suffer no fools, Destra carefully folds the letter into a leather case and makes her way to the board.  She signs up for the Gemstone Mines job with a flick of her wrist.

Kid just came out of his room, it seems he had a serious hangover this past few days. Too much  elven wine and halfling mead certainly not good.  Rauno, I need some water and a boiled egg please.

Rauno, chipper as ever, responds with a smile. Coming right up Kid.   He places a cup of water on the bar before heading into the kitchen.  You hear some pots jingle about, some water splash, a quiet thunk, a metal door opening, some wooden clunks, a metal door shutting, and 3 plops.  Rauno comes back out of the kitchen.   Eggs will be ready shortly, are you sure I can't get you anything stiffer?   Picking up his own mug he tops it off from the tap and takes a healthy swig.   Best hangover relief I've ever found! he says while grinning from ear to ear.

Early in the morning, Frerin arrives in the Silver Harp. He drops down on a table nearest to the door and calls for the innkeeper.  Howdy, Rauno. Gimme some bacon n' eggs, will'ya? And some coffee, if you have some. I gotta exploring to do! Know of any folks who might want to take a trek into the northern woods? I been thinking of assembling a group to claim a few of these hexes, exploring others and even scouting a few. It'll probably take a couple weeks to get up there and back.

Kabril is to explore the mountains to the south.  He is looking for companions for his journey.  Kabril finds it necessary for the purposes of accumulating materials for his research. Sitting down at a table in the corner, Kabril waits for takers.

Bebblebrox grabs an Ale from the bar and waves off Rauno as he asks about some brunch.   Hey Kabril  he says as he approaches.   I hear you're looking to do some traveling, mind if I tag along?

     Returning to the tavern Ren spots a few faces. "Greeting Kabril. I enjoyed working with you last month, your skills are quite impressive. Would you mind if I joined you again this month?" 

Shinon came into the harp bandaged up.  She was beat up from the fight where she almost died.  A little timid at the moment of holding a weapon and getting into a fight she sat at the bar.  She needed a drink to get some confidence back.   Can I get some wine and something to eat?

SCOURGE and puddles arrive at the harp, hearing that exploration has begun again. Looking around, the spot Kabril and approach to discuss exploration strategies.

Certainly, certainly Rauno says as he ducks under the bar, coming back up with a very dusty, very old looking bottle.  He carefully pops the cork, letting the bottle breath for a moment before pouring a glass.  As he places the drink down he kicks open the kitchen door, We need some stew over here sis.   Turning back to Shinon,  This one is on the house, what have you gotten yourself into my dear?

She smiled with the wine.   Thank you very much.  Well the last mission, I was tore up by a bison on the last mission.  I am lucky to be alive.   She sighed thinking about the bison tearing her up.  She needed to drink some....

Goodness me, that sounds awefull.  You look a little banged up still, have your wounds healed?

Most have healed up.  Thank you for asking.  I'll be hurting for a while, but that's what you get for charging and taking the lead.   She said as she tried to stretch some but it hurt so she stopped.

Some of that halfling drink please.  Viggo takes a seat alone and waits. Make that two. Both are for him. Trying to distract himself he flips through a book on fighting styles. Stopping on polearms and spiked armor, a brutal combat form thought to have little weakness...mainly you look like an idiot.

Kellen arrives at the Silver Harp, sighing and holding his head. Looking around, he sees the new arrivals and smiles. I hope all of the new arrivals will consider the offer that i post here, while scouting last month we discovered something. Issachar has decided he wants to investigate on his own, but I wanted to go as well. I invite the newcomers to join me in scouting to the southwest. He tacks a piece of paper up on teh board, and then heads back to his compound, to continue work on the observatory. (im have 5 slots open to show the newcomers how exploration works. Some might already know and just want to jump on my team, bring your own mount preferably so we can move faster than normal pace. Anyone without their own light warhorse will have to ride in the wagon.)

Frerin approaches the paper that Kellen stuck on the board and reads it carefully. Well, if noone is going to travel north, then at least i can join with other to explore somewhere else. He signs his name on the paper and starts to softly sing to himself, while enjoying breakfast: Go southwest, go southwest, life is (kinda) peaceful there... go southwest, in the open air...

Shinon nodded, walked over to the board and signed up after Frerin was finished.  Even if she about died, she is still alive!
