General Discussion: Post Here New People!

Hi everyone, I'm new to Torchbearer and Mouse Guard, excited to play both of them. I'm looking to join a campaign or a couple of one-shots to get a feel for it, and I'd also like to GM some one-shots in the future once I get a hang on everything. Thanks!
I see there's another thread for new people, so I'll just copy and paste what I posted before: Hello, I'm a new player looking to get some experience with Burning Wheel and related systems. I'm mostly interested in story-driven games, but anything is fine as long as I'm able to gain some experience. I have a lot of free time at the moment, but evenings are preferable to me. So from about 8pm GMT+1 I should probably be available. Other times could work too.
Hi everyone! New to Burning Wheel and Torchbearer but excited about learning the game and playing with everyone here!
New to Torchbearer. I arrived here after looking for a tabletop game to replicate the brutality and grim tones of Darkest Dungeon. I always have the most fun in games (most all types of games) when resources are scarce and survival is the typical result (and is appreciated). I'll be trawling around for a game, so hope to see a few of you soon!
Good choice! A lot of people like comparing the two games. Someone even made a hack a while back, though I can't profess to know much about it. link
hey just putting my post in here. Been in this group a while but haven't said anything much yet. Hit me up if you want to create a Dwarf Burning Wheel campaign I'm so in! Also interested in torchbearer but haven't played it yet.

I would be interested in a Torchbearer or Burning Wheel one shot but I'm new to it so I wouldn't be able to GM.
I'd love a game of mouse guard. Atleast a one shot it a short campaign to get staryed. After that, I'd love to GM one!

Seems like there's some solid interest right now, I can set something up. I've made a separate thread for it here .
Are there any games of Burning wheel going on that I could jump into? I've been urging to play it but I'm quite hesitant to start one, as it is quite advanced.

What NickNack said. Having previously listened to the awesome 100+ episode podcast of a burning wheel campaign called Inquisition of Blood by the wonderful Strand Gamers, I was enthralled by this curious game system, and bought the gold book. Tried to play two games a few years ago (one running it, one playing) neither got very far. Would love to find a good group to experience burning wheel with :) Saw the torchbearer kickstarter a while ago but given my lack of success with burning wheel I didn't bother to back it, I'd be willing to give torchbearer a try, but would be more interested in playing some burning wheel.
I've heard that Torchbearer and Mouseguard are easier version of the burning wheel system and work as a great jumping stone to BW.
yeah, just more focussed and and simplified. Still I'm usually pretty good with mechanics, it's just like... coming up with good beliefs and goals that seem like the tricky thing in burning wheel.
Hey guys I'm new here. I am looking for a torchbearer game, I am learning the rules. I am willing to GM or play.
Hi folks! I'm new here, so I guess this is where I post. I'm looking to get players for some Burning Wheel. This would be an every other Friday thing (Pacific time zone 6-10pm). I'm looking to do some short introductory runs at first, to let folks see if I'm a good GM for them, and if the group works well together and such. I'm mainly a PbtA GM. As far as BWHQ games go, I'm an experienced Mouse Guard GM, but not Burning Wheel yet. I've only played BW a few times. I've read through BW Gold/Codex a good bit and have watched several AP videos, but I'm still learning the system. The games would be run here, plus Discord for voice. Hit me up if you're interested!
ahh dang it, would be really keen for some burning wheel but already have an ongoing game friday evening :/
Hey David, I’m interested. I’ll PM you! I’ve been wanting to play or run a Burning Wheel campaign for a while. Or torchbearer. Or mouse guard.
Dang it indeed, Peanuts! It seems we botched our Astrology roll, and the stars are against us. Talk to you in PM, Paul!
Hi all, just stumbled upon this place. I've been playing RPGs since the 80's, with a resume of AD&D/Shadowrun/GURPS/Cyberpunk/Warhammer etc. I mostly wandered away from RPGs though as it got somewhat bland for me. The new indie type RPGs have brought me back to the hobby, with PBtA catching my eye at about the same time as Burning Wheel. I've been aching to play some Burning Wheel/Mouseguard/Torchbearer for a few years now and just never got around to it. Really hoping to find out what BW is all about and whether the system works for me. I did get to play one session of Mouseguard, probably needed a few more for the rigid player/GM turn mechanic to sink in. Timezone: GMT+1 (or GMT+2 in summer time); I can be around somewhat predictably workday evenings, less predictable during weekends.

Hey folks! I'm new around these parts, and I'm a big Burning Wheel fan in the US eastern time zone (UTC-4). Would love to get involved in either a Burning Wheel campaign on a weeknight. I've never played Torchbearer, but I'm very interested in the game and would really like to try out a one shot, see how it plays.
Hi all! GMT+1/2 here. Looking to play, especially as Middarmark has just come out! \o/
New here! CST-EST : LFG : Voice & Text Placed my pitch in the wrong spot so I'd thought I'd link it. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/5778007/looking-... Thanks, -Sage
Hey, I'm mostly looking to run a local game in Boston, but I'm writing up all my campaign materials and invite others to try 'em out.
Hey there folks, I've been playing in a game of Mouse Guard that spans across three different parties for the past two years, we just had a truly epic-scale (21-player) battle to retake Lockhaven from a usurper Matriarch. I'm mostly looking to play or possibly GM Mouse Guard myself, but I would be interested in Burning Wheel and Torchbearer as well!
Hello, I have been interested in trying out Burning Wheel for a few years and have just purchased a copy that should finish shipping to me in a week. I haven't played Burning Wheel before but have played D&D, King Arthur Pendragon, and have GM'd for Stars Without Number so I am not new to Roleplay games. I would like to join a new campaign but am also open to joining a pre-existing one if there is an opening as a player. I am in Pacific Standard Time (UCT -8) but have played with people in Europe, Australia, and China before so I am more than willing to work around schedules and time zones.
Would love to get in on a game of Torchbearer or Mouse Guard. I live in CST, and am available for any time after 6:00 cst on weekdays and any time on weekends.
Hello, I have a little experience playing Torchbearer, but would like to play any of the Burning HQ games. I´m on UTC -3 and available on weekends and friday nights. Thanks.
Hi, everyone. I've been DMing and playing D&D for a number of years now, so I have some experience with role playing games. I don't have hands-on experience with any of the Burning HQ games, but own well-read copies of the Burning Wheel and Mouse Guard, and would love to get into a game of either ! I'm on UTC+2 (Germany) and free most weekday evenings. Happy to be here. ^^
Was in the group about a year ago but had to back out of gaming for a bit. Interested in all the BWHQ books, especially burning wheel and torchbearer. Been Roleplaying in some capacity my whole life, but tabletop wise since ‘94. I’m on UTC-6 and free besides Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Howdy, new Mouse Guard player here. Been hoping to get in on a few campaigns to get better acquainted with the system, hopefully do my own GMing in the long run. Hours of availability are currently...open and/or incredibly flexible. All day, everyday, 24/7, though I'd prefer if things could be kept closer to evening hours.Text RPer, but I do have voice chat available (bear with me though, I'm a bit more timid when it comes to that). As I said, I'm new to the game, but I have plenty experience with tabletop gaming so it shouldn't take me too long to pick up on things - heck, I've already made three characters I'm ready to put through the grinder... >_>
Thank you for the invitation to the group. I've been playing tabletop games for many years, but I'm new to Mouse Guard and Torchbearer (and Burning Wheel). I've been watching a bunch of sessions on You Tube this last week and am very keen to play.

Hi! I'm hoping to finally play Mouse Guard after years of loving the comics. I'm working my way through the Roll20 videos on the game. I have played various versions of D&D and Gamma World over the last 6 or 7 years. I am in the US Midwest, EST. Work about 9-5 M-F so weeknights (excluding Wednesdays) or weekends are my options.
Hi everyone, been on Roll20 for a while now, but not had the opportunity to play any games as yet mainly due to work at the moment! Wouldn't mind partaking in a game of Mouse Guard if anybody is thinking of running a game.

Hello Neal! I just finished a one-shot of Mouse Guard and planning to host a game of it. You can join here https://app.roll20.net/join/1346559/7CMCgQ
Hello everyone. New member here and happy to be here. I'm returning to tabletop gaming after a decade or so but use to run very extensively for 30 years or so. I loved Burning Wheel and ran a campaign set in a mythic version of the Kingdom of Jerusalem circa 1134 in it that was very enjoyable. Getting back into gaming now through roll20 and enjoying it. Would love to find a BW or TB game and get an opportunity to see the system run. I found it hard trying to run it with no experience but still loved it.
Hi All, Very interested in playing Burning Wheel, I have the core and codex, but am yet to play. Currently watching Adam Koebel's campaign he ran. I have 30 years Role playing experience with many game systems and am very keen on finding a Burn Wheel campaign. If you have a campaign that has an open slot please PM me, I have a very open schedule and most days/times I would be able to join.
Hello. I'm Brian. I've been a fan of Burning Wheel for a long time now. Hope to get into a game sometime soon!
Heey all, Couple of months back a Roll20 member introduced me to BW. We did set up a game, created characters and played for two sessions but in the end sadly we never picked it up again. Still very interested in playing BW and hope to find a game here to join or to create one with others, although my BW experience is not much (I see myself as a beginning player, definitely not comfortable GM just yet). Live in the GMT+1/2 time zone and I am looking to play weekly in the night hours. Available every night except on Monday and Thursday nights. I have been really enjoying watching Adams game on the Roll20 Youtube channel with the focus on the more social/intrigue based games instead of dungeon crawls. For example it would be fun to play a group of characters that are considered the rejects or misfits of a large city. Each in their own way struggle to survive, but brought together when they were invited to show their unique talents in a circus (I watched “The Greatest Showman” movie before posting this…) and there they start helping each other out by dealing with the problem they have each brought with them into the group. So if there is a game open looking for a player or if there is a GM out there wanting to create a group, feel free to PM me or start discussing it in the forums (? is that how it works here ?).
