If you weren't aware, the Rod of Seven Parts has long been a D&D artifact symbolizing the conflict between law and chaos. It has yet to be adapted as a 5th Edition Artifact, so I've taken some liberties in how I've converted it based on the little information I could scour from the interwebs (I do not have any copies of the original releases that contain more detail about it, but I've put together a good assortment to get a solid feel for it). That being said, after slaying the Prince of Chaos, Miska the Wolfspider, in Ashcloud Castle in the Great Conflagration between the Planes of Air and Fire (where Orryn fell dying at the mouths of his two wolf heads, but then was revived by Belanor and Vetari) the party found part 1 of 7. Our 9th level warcaster wizard Vetari is currently attuned to the first of seven parts (1/7) - this is the 2nd of 3 items he can attune to, the first was the wand of the warmage. When we return, Vetari will notice that his weight has dropped, due to the power of the artifact, he has in fact lost 5 pounds. Vetari believes, after spending the night attuning to it, that additional parts will not be easily reconnected to the rod, but that additional parts will not only add more powers, but increase the previous powers of subsequent parts. The effect of tRo7p#1 is a once per day casting of healing power that heals 1d8+spellcaster mod of either living or undead creatures (normally healing power would hurt undead, and vice versa, but not in this case). To a range of 15 ft. The Vaati first took you on the airship outside of the Etched Library in the sacred green grassy cloud city of Aaqa, led by Poetre the Wendeam, his trusty unicorn Ethitha and the King of Aaqa, Simas the Blue. King Simas revealed that Aaqa would, in a twist of fate, fall into the abyss of the Plane of Air if tRo7p was not restored in full to the city before the next 400 days. Instead of going inside the Etched Library to begin their search for the Books of Keeping to keep the fiends on the infinite staircase happy, the party wanted to find a place to rest and set up, perhaps shop and decide a plan of action. This led you to Italedad the Vaati Alehouse, where you struck a deal with Itav for him to produce and sell T&D's Blueberry Bomb & Tonic (the red and blue wine) and give you all 50% of the profits. <- Itav Now having rested, you are faced with some challenges. You know that you need the rod pieces to use as keys to the pillars in Ensamhet in the north of the Jixian continent of Arium. But the Vaati just celebrated throughout the city for the return of the first piece. What will you do? P.S. Orryn, where did you leave Speurkat?
