First Days

Andy Darkmagic takes his first steps off the boat, and into his new life. He isn't quite sure what to expect, but this wasn't it. He walks up to the guard, as he seemed to be in charge, and gives his name. "Good day sir. My name is Andy Darkmagic, Alchemist extrodanare! Can you please direct me to the towns existing alchemist? I like to scope out the competition you know. Me old pa used to say 'Andy, always make sure you know what you are up against. Otherwise the zombie's will overwhelm you and eat your brains!'"

An old man, carrying a huge, old, spiked shield on his back awaited on the deck, keeping his balance with the help of his spear. He waited until everyone else had landed to get off the ship... Maybe he disliked the chaos of the arrival, maybe he was too old to rush. Either way, he finally decided to land too, and slowly but steadily made his way towards the row of people flocking to the outpost. The soldiers there were trying to help newcomers, when they saw him, he was already looking at them. A reflex made them start the stand attention pose for half a second, before recomposing themselves. That man screamed drill instructor, and Álmos couldn't stop a small smile forming behind his beard. He greeted them with a nod, and as he marched through them, with a cracked but powerful voice, he said his name: " Álmos " - And kept walking, trying not to groan much in front of the boys.
The guard turns to andy, while the other steps out of Almos's way, " thats....good to know, ill make sure to watch out for more....guards....." he looks at his companion with concern, " just head down the street and to the market, most of the shops are set up there." he points down the road to a large and busy market.
gets off the bout and heads strate to the town hall to ask were is the nearest mine.
Shinon stretches after getting off of the ship.  It was quite the trip from home to here.  She was happy to be on solid ground again.  Next it's time to get to the town and see how things look there.  She picked up her gear and waved to the captain after taking the potion of healing from him.   Thank you sir!  Have a safe trip!   She smiled as she lugged her stuff finally on solid ground and waited for the others assuming they were going to go with her to the new place.
A guard awaits everyone at the end of the dock, "welcome to iss ladies and gentlemen, ill take your names here, the towns a straight shot down the path." He awaits people's questions, and then directs them off the docks.
the ship has docked. Kid finally step into a solid ground. well its not that solid because of the sand but good enough. Having killed 3 grindylow by himself on the way to the island make him quite confident. He go with everyone else to the town. he needs a drink and rest after 2 weeks being on sea.

"Dammit I don't like boats." A young man in his mid 20's steps off the boat, swaying back and forth. Any experienced sailor would know that he was experiencing "sea legs". He quickly went to the side of the docks before throwing up, looking to be in quite a bit of discomfort. Stepping after him was a young girl. Though she seemed to be uncomfortable as well no complaining came out of her mouth as she started to walk on to the island.      "Hey Page, wait up!" The young man stumbles forward catching up to the girl. "I'll register us and get us booked, you just wait a sec." He approaches the guard who seemed to just be documenting who is stepping foot on the island. "Hello, I'm Jason nice to meet you. Me and my sister just arrived. I was wondering if there was.... there was anywhere ... to ...." Before he was able to finish his sentence to the guard he just randomly walked up to and before the guard could respond he turned around and hurled again. I knew I shouldn't have eaten that fish...
The guard looks at first disgusted, and then concerned. he jots down your name on the paper and "if your needing al alchemist, theres one in town. just try to get there."
"Yeah, thanks. Could you point me towards it?" Jason seemed ready to just get over his sickness.      As Jason was trying to avoid throwing up again his younger sister walked up to the guard as well as his brother. Jason looked back. Cmon, let me just feel bad about myself for a little while longer ... Page of course looked unamused, seasick herself.      "Oh and by the way, while you are at it, would you happen to know if a samurai lives here? Guy named Ken, should be a little shorter than me, nasty scar on his arm. Weird haircut? Hopefully sells stomach ache medicine?" Page sighs and speaks up. "Is there a man named Ren on this island? He should be a doctor as well as a swordman."
A disheveled dwarf stumbles down from the Iron Kelpie towards the guards on the beach. His step, like many others, is unsteady, after these weeks on sea. As he approaches the guards, he notices a fetid pool of vomit. At least I'm not the only one....  he thought to himself. I am Frerin, the Red. I here came in search of new life yes?  I am in looking for a place to work. A firen-metal workplace.... a, a forge, as you say? The guard cannot help but notice his strange accent. On the other hand, his metalsmithing tools and powerful arms also make it very clear that he is indeed a blacksmith in search of employment.
Viggo walks up to the guard and after a short greeting,  Please let anyone who asks know that free bunk space is available in the dojo, no need to sleep outside unless they prefer to.
Kabril Steps off the gangway, looking around distrustfully.   I hope that I have finally avoided them, now that I have reached this god's forsaken wilderness.  I am certain the grindylow were agents of the Vizier.  I did not know it was HIS wife who looked like the dire hippopotamus.  Perhaps I should watch my tongue in this new land, at least for a time. Ahh, a servant sent to show me to my lodgings.  You, man, carry my bag and follow me... He says as he walks by the guard with the list.
Shinon smiled to the guard.   My name is Shinon Trelles.  Just a quick question, what temples do you have here?   She had to know what other religions were here maybe there were a few more paladins...
The guard looks up, surprised to finally get a normal question, "oh, well we have... we have the smith for Torag, the graveyard for Pharasma, the bank...fort...thing for abadar. Most of us guards live there at the bank, Kellen is pretty strict about things over there. "  He points to his tabard (with the symbol of abadar emblazoned on it) ad he speaks, and then shows you a small sketch of the town's layout. He then looks at the bags left behind by the wizard, and then at the massive insect climbing off the side of the ship.
Holding her shield of Iomedae by the guard.   I guess I will be trying to bring the holy light from the Goddess Iomedae to this island also.   She smiled to him.   Thank you sir.  I guess I should go to the town and find a place to sleep for the night.  I will have to start building the holy place soon!   She said as she walked off with her gear going to the town.
The massive insect follows the others off the boat, grumbling something at the guard as it passes by.
A pair of abadaran guards greet the newcomers, taking names and directing people through town. An old dwarf sits nearby watching people pass, and taking notes.
Sellion steps off the boat with a purring Kiba in his arms, holding her as he is greeted by the guards and asked his name. " Well met, Sellion Talaviir and my companion here's name is Kiba. " He would continue to talk with the guards and answer any other information they needed before then following them into the town, taking note of the old dwarf taking notes of the new arrivals.
The ratfolk following you off the ship with his pets notices the guards, and then head over to speak with the dwarf, greeting him jovially. They speak for a few moments, the rat making gestures towards the ship and his pets, and the dwarf laughing along as if he had never heard a funnier joke. Soon the dwarf points to a nearby wagon, and the ratfolk goes to work preparing the rats for cart-duty. The old dwarf turns back to the road, and the newcomers.
Valkor steps off the boat and takes a deep breath, finally he escaped that judgmental, monotonous, and run-down town. He was in a place he could explore, a place where he could find new experiences and where he would be challenged. He was going to be busy here. He would finally feel alive.
A pair of Abadaran guards stand waiting at the docks, one chatting with an elderly dwarf leaning on a walking stick, the other looking in the ship's direction. As people pass, the guard motions them over, and asks for their names.
Aladriel journeys toward the outpost, with the two noisy men in tow, uncertain whether he'd be able to get them there in one piece. If things got too rough, he knew he'd leave them for dead, but for the time being their conversation was, at the very least, entertaining.
Hello there, I am Valkor Zeildred.   Valkor says when the guards get to him. It is nice to finally be here.
The guards wave you down as you pass, Hey! Yes you, no not you, I have YOUR name. You guys! Over here please, I got some questions for ya.
Michael steps off the Iron Kelpie, salt air in his nose, fresh wind in his face.  The future looks bright, brighter than it's looked in a long time.  Now he can pay for his sins with good hard work, and reap the benefits of it.  he hopes he can find adventure too...for what is life without a little spice?  His pack is heavy, the tools he brought with him slow his steps.  He talks with his companions from the ship about small things and generally takes the walk down the pier slow and easy.
when the guards speak up Michael heads over to them.   yes sir?  what can I do for you?
What are your questions?  Valkor asks, puzzled.
Ahh yes, I just need your name here, and if you have any profession itd be preferable you just tell me now. The captain likes to know what we need around town and such, and knowing someone's name is a common courtesy. Im elery either way, and he reaches his hand out to shake both of your's
Aladriel, his pack, that no-one noticed until now (Shhhh) on his back, turns to the guards, and watches them silently, letting the other two do the talking.
Valkor smiles and shakes the mans hand. I used to be a soldier, but that is in the past, I am looking to start a smithy in this town.
The elderly dwarf steps back from the group of guards, and hobbles over to Aladriel. Not one for formalities eh?
Aladriel regards the man calmly, his hood casting his face in complete shadow, and his armor glowing every so slightly in certain parts. He absentmindedly rubs up and down his body, as if checking for wounds, and then once again eyes the dwarf. He wonders if the man can see his eerie features, he remembers something about dwarves having dark vision....
A large dwarf lugging gleaming metal armor steps off the boat.  As he walks toward the guards at the end of the pier, he spots the elderly dwarf talking to the young human.  He gives a small salute, sets his things down, and says,  Name's Dorryn.  Dorryn Silveraxe.  Of Clan Silveraxe of Janderhoff.  Do you know if there be a forge around here where I can place my things?
The elderly dwarf turns and smiles at Dorryn, Ahhh a silveraxe, its been decades since ive seen one of your line, the town is just down the road.  He points past with his thumb, and then nods at the nearby guards. Turning back to Aladriel, We can both stand here all day silently, or you can answer my questions and I will smile and wave you past. The elderly dwarf hasnt stopped smiling since the ship arrived
Elery the guard ask a few more menial questions about where they'll be staying and gives them the generic don't cause trouble, chuckle chuckle. After a few moments, he waves them past down the road.
Valkor answers the guards questions truthfully and then after being waved off, gives the guard a short solute.
Aladriel makes a hand motion, and nods to the man, he does not know if the man can see his face, but is purposely putting on an upset look so the man understands that he is not welcome to pry, though aladriel knows he'll do so anyways.
Look lad, all I'm asking for is a name, as the town's records-keeper its my job. Its not so difficult a question now is it?  He strokes his beard, leaning on his waling stick. The other guards look over nervously at the pair, but quickly turn away to welcome other passengers.
Aladriel makes a pained expression, not understanding why he can't simply get his name from the ship's ledger, but at any rate decides he must deal with this man before leaving. He looks around, and leans in to whisper in the man's ear, so that the dwarf who came near them does not hear. He gives the man his first name, but nothing more.
Do there be a Temple dedicated to the Master of the First Vault hereabouts?  Or any followers thereof?  A man must need find his own in such an environment as this.
Tha's better, see. not such a difficult task. Now go on and get to town before night falls, there's dangers of all kinds out here.  He waves you off down the road, eyebrows raised and a big grin tearing across his bearded face.
Ahh yes yes, well... i wouldn't call it a temple. Kellen is a bit of a follower, but hes not exactly here in the god's name if you catch my drift. I'm just glad he brought me and the others over, this island has been good fun. Oh, I almost forgot to offer, once we have all the new faces down and discovered, well be heading back in the ole rat-wagon , He gestures to the rat-pulled heavy wagon over his shoulder, Its a smoother ride than any horse you've ever seen, bless the rat that brought these massive bastards. hes saved me years of aching bones.  He wanders over to the back of the wagon, and takes a seat on the edge. If you'd like to come along, I can take you straight to the little lord himself. Or you may want to stop off in town, get a feel of the place before you show up. Either way the seat is yours.
Me thanks, good dwarf!  A seat behind those great vermin sounds just right for me old bones.  And this little lord sounds like someone I'd need to meet.
Elery was it. My name is Jec. A tracker by trade,   Jec looks taking in landmarks as best as possible.
This had to be the right time... Endy waits until people are looking the other way or to far away to get in the way of fun,  then climbs up the main sail thingy and jumps off into the water with some skill. Surfacing, That was alright, maybe I could try it again. ... The boat wasn't there anymore... Oops, to soon. Starts swimming towards the shore.
Dreeth Begins shifting abit awkwardly looking at  the group. He hesitantly walks to them and listens in abit, before asking elery " earlier you mentioned ...dangers in the night , Can you elaborate please?"
Ahh well, the usual is animals or kobolds, but we've seen some weird things around lately. Theres talk of some flying beast in the mountains that a group is hunting now. Around town your pretty safe, especially if Kellen is nearby. Dont worry too much, along the path there isn't much.  He smiles reassuringly.

Dreeth laughed uneasily " Just thrilled...to be along" he pauses for a moment and looks around and clearing before he passes the guard giving a quick thanks . Stopping momentarily " There a fare for The wagon? " He says glancing down at the dwarf.
uhh, not normally. I guess I could start charging, but its not actually that long of a walk....  He looks towards the front of the wagon where you hear a higher pitched voice pipe up...  Hell yeah theres a charge! Its called a favor! hop on in scaredy!  A rat-folk climbs out of the drivers seat and points into the back. The massive rodents tied to the front shift, and he turns to shout them into action. HEY! Get up you dumb things! Get a move on, lets go!  The dwarf quickly climbs motions to the guards, who start hustling nearby crates into the back of the wagon. Shouting back at the captain about his master having a word with him, the elderly dwarf climbs into the back of the wagon with the guards.
