Game day is currently set for Tuesdays (Jan 5, 12, 19...) then I may ask if everyone can play on a  Monday (Jan 25). Tuesday January 5th will be the DM's birthday game session! Nothing sounds more fun to me for a birthday party than playing D&D with you all. Add to your calendar: The above dates, usual start time 2:05PM Central USA. Time converted for your Time Zone is listed on the campaign details main page. RSVP Regrets Only: Post here if you will be unable to attend, from week to week. Solid let me know in advance that he has to leave early today. (Jan 5). Chris is in the process of moving for work and he will update us when he's able to rejoin.

Gold, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to play this coming Tuesday. My car has been in the shop over the weekend for repairs. Unfortunately I will need to pick it up right when we play. I will try and pop online to say hi to everyone. Solid

Okay, thanks for the advance notice Solid . So, we won't be looking to the Cavalier to get Sigma and Cylara out of this mess (where the Minotaur got possessed to hunt elves by an evil orc artifact spear).   Baradin is busy going to get his horse . Hopefully Rajhad and RainbowSilks will have some ideas to corral and subdue the Minotaur before he stampedes.
I object!  That nose ring is a symbol of oppression of the minotaur people!  Boooo! Dang.  Baradin was the one most likely to stop Possessed Sigma.  Now things may get a bit... twisty.
Happy Be-lated BDAY Gold!!! An update on my status - I have sold my condo (escrow closes 1st week Feb) and bought a house in La Quinta, CA (escrow closes 2nd-3rd week of Feb) and I start working in the area Jan 17th. Hopefully when I get there I will be able to work out having Mondays or Tuesdays off so I can jump back in to it! Miss D&D Tuesdays :( How have you been Hans?!?! Good to hear from you again and I hope all is going well!

Congrats on the moving progress Chris . Glad you still remember D&D haha. Hans came back. Aepod joined too. Now we have a Priest Of Ilmater (Suffering), and a Gnome Tinkerer Rogue.  Also an Elf Witch since you haven't really met Cylara ( RainbowSilks ) yet. And, big news, Baradin killed a Half-Orc Earthbender named Serga Ulma (alias "Sethus Maximus") who had a Medusa-style hair-do. Yup. Snakes for hair on a half-orc and he had turned Kaz  (NPC'd, XPC) turned to stone (temporary but long lasting effect) and shot mud-rock poo spikes that hit Furnace , Baradin and Rajhad . Yup, turned someone to stone and mud rock poo spikes! Awesome. You're figuring out... Serga's mama was a Medusa, the daddy was an Orc Earthbender (Tegwa Ulma) who was also killed during this adventure. Oh, P.S. the medusa mom is still at-large. No one thought of that fact yet. DM grin. Another tip is, they manufacture rock orcs, and that's not good. Since Chris has the only Earthbender PC (a good Flind named Wei-Ting ), I thought you'd want to know this update. Keep us updated when you find out your new-place work schedule. The boulder is excited by this development.
Congrats on the house buying Chris! And Gold on your birthday as well :) I'm alright, happy to be playing again. I had a good time yesterday!

We'll work something out. I will survey the Players about the schedule and weigh Mondays vs Tuesdays. We are also going to find out availability from Chris based on his new work schedule, soon.   For this week though, we play Tuesday 19 and so I'll plan for Rajhad to be absent/in the background. Too bad because one of the monster-types I've prepared in the snowy forest is especially fond of Halflings (I won't spoil whether they like to eat halflings or talk to them). For the week after let's plan to play on Monday Jan 25.  Paul will be able to join that session, and we will decide and arrange from there. Thanks for the heads up. We all hope you can continue playing the campaign, and we understand the reasons for school and other commitments.
I can usually play both days: Monday & Tuesday... But Monday is preferable due to my wife off on Tuesdays. Plus it's a whole less hassle with her working while we game.
I'm game for Mondays as well, either day fits equally well in my schedule.
i could potentially play on Mondays.  I have a game on Sunday currently and my own game every other Saturday that i'm running.  heck... i was asked to join another game as well which i think i'm going to have to decline.
you guys are awesome, thanks for all the support and flexability in days/times
Gold's put together a big team of All-Stars.  Some come and go from time to time, but we'll sure hang together as best we can, because everybody in this player pool improves the game for everyone---and together we can keep up with Gold! * big grin *

We're trending big now. This is good. All the Players/Characters are excellent, and fitting. There are high adventures ahead. I don't know exactly what, we will find out together, but I can sense it and prepare as DM. Mondays are voted the best day for the overall group. We play on Monday Jan 25, then plan ahead for Mondays in February. 6 to 8 players is the recommended sweet spot for AD&D parties. Granted when it gets over 5, we all have to manage game efficiently and make sure every player gets actions and chances of RP. We may play with 7 players in some upcoming session(s). We can handle that. There were a couple weeks in early winter when played with only 3 for a time and that flux was playable too. The group of 7 is strong. Here's the look of 7. Chris is back (tentatively on Mondays), Hans is back, Paul, Larry, Solid, Silks, Aepod . Wei Ting Flind Earthbender Baradin Human Cavalier Sigma Minotaur (Fallen Ranger) Cylara Elf Witch Rajhad Halfling Thief Ampton Gnome Tinkerer Friar Hugo Human Priest Of Ilmater Everyone is super cool. This makes a good party. Everyone in this group getting a spot at the table is important here, and getting a chance to participate, contribute, express their character, try new actions. I am getting psyched (translation: preparing monsters) for the upcoming "Winter Sessions" of Adventures in Homebrew World.
Pretty sure Gold is going to use one of my suggestion, you need to buy thick winter clothe everyone.
what do you mean, Gold, when you say "we're trending big now."?

RainbowSilks said: what do you mean, Gold, when you say "we're trending big now."? I mean group size, player attendance. We had as-low-as 3 active players, about a month ago. Would the group fade away? Some people were temporarily changing schedules but hoped to come back. We are up to as-much-as 7 active players for next week. We've had 5-6 players in the last couple sessions. It's a healthy trend and good group that I want to keep together, every member. 7 players is what I would call a big group. 8 players would be about my max for any given session (which is 9 people including the Dungeon Master). If we accommodate beyond 8, the 9th and up would be as observers, co-DM, recording-streaming technician, or temporary NPC roles. Some flavors of D&D or CRPG's are made for just 4, but I like the character dynamics of 6-8 for AD&D. P.S. from the D.M. Eddy is correct. PC's will want to wear your Winter Coats for the upcoming game sessions. "Baby it's cold outside!"
Hugo only has a very sweaty, uncomfortable hair shirt under his robe. I hope that'll do! ^^

are these games being recorded?  that would be pretty excellent if it were and i'm not opposed to that in the least.  thanks for the explanation :)

RainbowSilks said: are these games being recorded?  that would be pretty excellent if it were and i'm not opposed to that in the least.  thanks for the explanation :) I would love for the games to be recorded. That is a long-time dream of mine. We have done one session recorded and broadcasted so far, a couple months ago. I have places set up to share such videos on my YouTube and a Twitch channel that some viewers would probably enjoy watching/listening. The rub is this: I just don't feel I have the "clicky" capacity to manage the recording software while focusing on DM'ing. The game sessions seem to pass by in a flash of time as it is, where I'm continually focused on DM'ing. I would like to recruit a technical manager from the Players or a new person to run OBS (video screen-capture) and pipe it to Twitch TV. For me it would require a 3rd computer (I already use 2 when DM'ing). We want it to record the Player's view, not the DM's view that reveals certain hidden set-ups. If I were to run another laptop showing the Player view, it would still need to be clicked & managed occasionally throughout the game session, which would grab my attention. For example when I pop-up a large picture for the players using the DM's shift-Z technique, the player must Click anywhere on-screen to dismiss that picture and see the map again. If it was me running the recording I would need to pause DM'ing to adjust the recording screen and settings periodically. If a Player were to run the recording, they can: Catch the times to click-away the popup picture. Not reveal the DM's hidden monster/surprise layer on the recording. Use OBS recording software settings to do neat visuals such as popping up a "We are on break for 5 minutes" with a custom splash screen. Broadcast it to their own channel (if they want) and cross-stream it on my Twitch & YouTube channels. If the person is a PC, they can pick up Journal XP Bonus from doing the technical work instead of writing diary posts. Chris is considering it and wants to learn OBS/Twitch. Maybe when he gets settled and set-up in his new place. Silk if you would be interested in this role, I would like to hear your ideas for it.
i do some streaming of games that i'm playing or casting now using OBS.  though i don't mind trying to figure out some overlays and things it's not really my strong suit :)
Trying to secure the time today to play, but its looking a little grim for me. Big patch to apply across 20 some clients, including server upgrades on each of the webservers etc. I will do my best, but I have at least one meeting already during the session w/ clients to deal with explaining the security patch and required work and risks etc. Uggh, mondays!
