The group consists of four individuals (1 storyteller and 3 players) and we are currently searching for one last member to join us. All three of the current players are completely new to the system but are seasoned roleplayers and have played several other systems. We're primarily looking for an individual who puts RP and a well thought out characters before character or combat mechanics. We intend to have weekly sessions but we have yet to decide on a starting time. Once we've completed our roster, we'll iron out scheduling (likely during the weekend/monday). Version: Mage: The Ascension 20th Anniversary Edition Homebrew Rules: Potential Mages will not be allowed to be actively associated with the nine paths (past association is fine). Here's a small blurb of the setting and part of its history: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Dsd4ApzFaH3T04omG1E7mMuypVnJzJkSXgXhoUm4STM/edit
Can I join never been a mage sounds interesting
Question... What do you mean by "actively associated"? Do the characters have to all be Orphans? Also, what is the mode of the roleplay? Voice, video or text?

Hi Megan, In practical terms, all characters currently function, at least socially, as Orphans. That being said, you could make a character trained by one of the Traditions (or even the Technocracy), just not associated - i.e. going to meetings or in consistent contact - with them currently, either because of simple preference or some specific catalyst. The idea is that the characters are outsiders without an organization to rely upon or draw from. Roleplay is primarily voice, with some text as the situation warrants. Hi Terron, While we are more than happy to have new players (I am the only one with actual Mage experience) you seem sort of unsure about system. Check out the Mage 20th Anniversary quick start PDF, available for free, and PM me if you are still interested with where your head is at regarding character idea(s) and what appeals to you in the system.

Hey there. I've been running a Mage 20th edition game myself for a couple of months now and am interested in what being a player would be like. :)
I would ask for clarification on the first question, but the answer to the second question already knocks me out of the running. I only play in text games. It was worth asking, though.
