Huge Tracks

Wed GM Slot 1 Approaching the creature did not seem the right thing to do .. It forgot all about its wounds upon seeing them and rose into a defensive posture.  It seemed to pause only for a moment before striking out.  It headed towards them, slowly building up speed.   Pezzack had his eyes on the creature as it began its shouting bellow and attack.  He cast his spell swiftly hoping to catch the creature in his entangling magic.  Vines rose to entrap it but it just kept moving as if unfazed.  (21 reflex) The creature rose its tail as if its next move would be to strike // Prytania can post her readied attack ahead of time next time so i will know what to do to it but you can make it on your next turn this time  // Technically the wild empathy should take a bit (because it is like diplomacy, but I am going to rule you did this while you were attempting to approach cautiously but when that broke down you prepared to defend yourselves.   Next Wed GM Slot 2

Wed Slot 1 "Hey you!" Rusty advances, hoping to draw its attack away from his friends.  "What did this?" OOC: Total defense for any AOO included in AC on token.

Wed Slot 1 Harold motions for Flint to stay before approaching the dinosaur cautiously with empty hands raised, Woh there fella, we can help you.   He cautiously reaches out trying to touch the dino and just barely managed to make contact with it for a moment, at which point a green energy flows from Harold into the beast healing some of it's wounds.   See, we're here to help. ((OOC: Melee Touch attack 9 vs it's 8 touch AC, Cure light wounds for 11 damage healed))

Prytania decided not to anger the creature further. Seeing Harold attempt to get near, she started chanting a relaxing prayer. The creature slowed down for a second, but not before shrugging it off and charging again. At least she won some time for Harold to do his thing... (OOC Prytania casts Calm emotions, but the anchilosaurus just barely passes it)

Wed GM Slot 2 Viggo's plan works .. he draws the creatures attack .. Its tail rises up and then swings down with great force against Viggo's shield, shattering it two, while the spikes continued downward into his armor and lay him on the ground.  His body smashed into the plains and when the creature raised his tail up, large chunks of Viggo remained on it.  The animal cried out again as Viggo lay dying and .. as Harold touched the creature at the same time, its wounds healing, the creature was uncertain what to do about it.  Seeing Harold as a threat it raised his spike up against him as well and smashed into him sending him tumbling and bleeding profusely, his bones shattered in a hundred places. The spike -tail turned to face the others but a great roar interrupted the thought .. Around a giant rock came another large lizard, only this one had sharp teeth and fierce pouncing legs.  Immediately drawn to its prey, it snapped and roared again .. The spike-tail charging forward at his enemy, determined to send it away. //ooc .. two CONFIRMED CRITS in 1 turn .. thats a new record!  sorry guys NEXT GM Wed Slot 3

Pezzack's skin pales beneath his black feathers as he watches his two companions get smashed to pieces, knowing that if something wasn't done to change the situation, he might very well join them. Pezzack calls upon the power of nature's spirit, seeking to calm the more predatory beast, and hopefully stay the rage of both creatures. His magic temporarily halts the hunting of the terrible lizard. (OOC: Cast calm animal on the allosaurus, Will DC 15, dino rolled a 12.)

Wednesday Slot 3 The huge beast disposed the two closest with just one swing of its tail. Rusty's body was too mangled and twisted to have survived... Harold was weakly holding his hand up. Prytania rushed at him, and saw his chest completely crushed. Blood was pouring everywhere... No way she could heal him. She grabbed his hand: " Harold, do you hear me? Harold? - And gesturing with her head that he was not going to survive that, she added- I'm sorry, Is there anything I can do for you? " (OOC: If he doesn't fight to live and is clearly suffering, I'll cast Death Knell on him to put him away from his misery) 

Harold looks up at Prytania but seems to be looking through her, at something beyond.  He feebly attempts to raise his hand. Maegan, my love, I'm ....   The last words trailing off as he coughs up a mouth full of blood, his body wracked in pain.  

Wednesday Slot 3, part 2 Harold was dying, and there was nothing she could do to save him. His last words before being drowned in blood were for someone named Maegan... With a tear in her eyes, Prytania decided to end his suffering(" Maybe his life force will help us all... We sure need it "). She closed his eyes with a hand as she kissed his forehead. His life ended at that moment. (OOC Sense motive check: 26; Prytania casts Death knell on Harold. He decides to fail the check)

      !!!! Ren was caught off guard as the dinosaur swung it's tail. Ren had expected the thing to be strong but he wasn't expecting this much power. One swing hit both Rusty and Harold. Rusty was beyond repair, his body mangled and broken. Dammit!  Ren immediately put himself between the dinosaur and everyone else. He looked behind him and Harold wasn't looking too good. He wasn't close enough to make a good examination, but his gut told him it was too late. Well... his gut and the look on Prytania's face. She leaned down, maybe to kisten for a heartbeat maybe to kiss him, either way Ren looked back forward.       Ren didn't know too much about these things, but given how big it was, he was assuming that it ran quite fast.     "Prytania, Pezzack, is Harold okay? Answer me! Take him and get start running away. The thing was injured so hopefully it won't chase us, but if it does we could all be in big trouble!"      If this thing chases I doubt Prytania can get away with that armor of her's. We'll just have to hope this thing is satisfied.  Actions:  Total Defense - Added AC on character Ren is going to stand there and take total defense.      

(Fun fact i have los and rolled a 20 for spellcraft i know what spell Prytania used.)

Wed Slot 3  Prytania, unaware that Harold's life force had already past to the next plane, cast an evil spell upon him to take his soul into herself for strength.  It, however had no effect.  Zordlon noticed this spell being cast as death knell.   Ren prepared for a fight but the anklyosaurus took no notice and seemed to concentrate on the allosaurus which, thanks to a powerful calming spell by Pezzack, seemed content to wander off, leaving the anklyosaurus once again without a combatant.  It stood guard, waiting for the allosaurus to strike but a strike never came.  It bellowed out an stood defensively, as if ready to strike with its giant tail again anything that came too close. Thursday Timeslot 1 Prytania starts dragging Harold's body back from his feet. Seeing that Ren is just staying there, she yells at him: " What do you think you're doing Ren? Grab Rusty and come back here! " - We better start figuring how do these stones work before they turn back on us! (OOC I agree that it's a (minor) act of evil. Pretty much all necromancy is, but I don't think casting Death knell captures his soul... In the description it says life force. I wouldn't use it if it absorbed one's soul... I see it more like you are stealing from them that willpower, that positive energy that's keeping them alive)

Thursday Slot 1 The party can take a moment to decide what to do .. it seems that while not in the anklyosaurus' space, the beast is content no to engage them .. for now .. It scans for the bigger threat.  There is still an allosaurus out there (which will become a hex mission needed for claiming should it remain)  you have some valuable information you can return to town with at this point and there is no shame in running away to return later better prepared.  This is, of course, up to you.  I will let you post what you would like to do and discuss this for a bit before we proceed Next Thursday Slot 2 // ooc .. i agree with your assessment but the spell does have the "evil" descriptor and I wanted to make sure you were aware some clerics (like Agela) might not agree with the use of such magic.  Prytania may not care and that is fine .. It is the fact that prytania may have a darker side that keeps Agela on the defensive about her in the first place even though she has proven to be a valuable asset to the town. :)

(note: if you use evil spells often I may start rumors. It's sorta what i do.) Zordlon, seeing the allosauras wander off, Runs away he's not very... brave..... and the allosaur is very big and scary.As for the Anklyosaur ,well, It killed Two people with one swing of it's tail. 

Tursday, timeslot 2 Ren was still guarding, just in case the dinosaur decided to turn back on them. Prytania kept shouting as she dragged Harold: " REN! stop watching and help me gather these two. I don't want to have to deal with your corpse too! " - She then turned to Pezzack - " Hey Pezzack, do you have any idea on how the stones work? We're probably going to have to use them if we want to carry these two"

(OOC: I assume we are out of combat)      Ren is glad the the beast decided to back off. Sheathing his sword Ren drag's Rusty's body back a bit. Closer to Prytania and Harold. Without saying anything Ren walked closer to Harold. After a quick glace it was easy to tell that there was no saving him. Dammit. Ren was use to death, and was expecting it as well. He didn't know Harold that well, but he seemed like a good man. And if he hadn't been standing there maybe I would be the one that died. Not really a pleasant thought.      Turning back to Rusty's body Ren addressed Prytania. "Tania, you know if these stone can bring bodies back with us?" Ren kept the dino in his vision just in case. 

"Tania, you know if these stone can bring bodies back with us?" - Prytania shrugged - " I have no idea, but if that thing charges towards us again, it may be our only chance... There's no way we can outrun it. Let's keep moving! "

//OOC you notice that you can push the button on the stones that the bodies have .. maybe it will send them back

Pezzack tugged at his shirt collar, and said, "I don't know anything about these magic stones you speak of, so whether or not they can carry the dead is unknown, you'll just have to try it and see. What I'm more worried about is, can we pick up their bodies and carry them away without enraging the beast further? I'll do my best to calm the creature." Pezzack carefully approaches and cautiously tries once again to connect with this powerful creature. (Wild Empathy roll of 12)

Zordlon runs up to the group and says some very helpful words "Pezzack don't try to tame it run away we have 2 corpses already we don''t need a third!" Yes, very helpful. (double move)

It looked like the beasts were busy with one another, and they gained some ground. Prytania stopped to catch some breath: " Ok, let's stop for a second and think what are we going to do now. We could run away, and there's no shame in that. But if the dinosaurs hurt one another enough... We may have a chance to secure the zone, and their deaths wouldn't have been in vain ". - She placed her hand on his shoulder, trying to calm his fear - " Zord, you can be quite sneaky when you want, how about you go back and watch the fight? If things go wrong, come back, or even use the stone. If you tink we have a chance, just signal us to go back in " (OOC; Diplomacy check: 25 to help him overcome his fear)

While keeping a lookout for trouble, the amulets of harold and rusty are activated, a hum and energy and a flash of light .. and then they are gone .. (Hope that worked).  Keeping an eye on the dinosaurs was easy .. Ren climbed to the top of the rocks and watched as the allosaur headed one way like a gentle baby and the Anklyosaur took the opportunity to head in the opposite direction.   They were definitely going to have to mark this danger for everyone to know about this area of the island.  Dinosaurs are serious business. Gathering up their things, the party slowly headed back to the outpost.  There was little conversation due to the fact that two of their friends had just died.  They would warn the town and perhaps return one day to deal with the threat .. Avenging the lives of their friends ... but only when they were stronger.  (or you can use the stones .. if you do you need to PM me with a % die roll) This concludes this post.  You may continue to role play but he mission is over.
