Dynamic Lighting with drawn circles issue.

Is it just me or do circles have these weird holes in them? In the example the "Well" was actually supposed to be a bit tree. but if a player goes to one side of the circle, he will be able to see through it. Besides using other tools, is there a way to fix these broken circles? (seems to be broken no matter the size.
The instructions specifically mention don't use circles for DL walls. Instead, use polygon (you can use small steps to be close).
I thought it said don't use free hand drawing. If I missed that,  Sorry
