mental and a little sentence on the wall describing the trap and how to disable it (written in Kellen's silly battle language he came up with) written in bright red chalk
After marking the walls to indicate the trapped area .. the party carefully moves ahead coming to another closed door This one is made of a silver metal and Magical runes appear to Destra who detects magic on the door as they approach.  More alchemical symbols
Destra will copy the symbols on a piece of parchment with a studied hand and conviction in her eyes. Three new symbols... another test?

"ooh. i think I've got it. its wanting either salt or fresh water... maybe just steam?... probably fresh water and salt. one of you has some in a spell component punch right?"  Kellen looks across the group behind him. "or maybe just for cooking?..... lets try the fresh water first."

Max picks up a chain shirt, and a shield, before following his companion down the stairs to watch Kellen disable the trap. Maximus reaches into a pouch on his waist, and retrieves a pinch of salt from within. As he reaches for the door he nods towards Destra "You ready?"
Destra gives Max her waterskin and a sly nod. After you, troubadour.

With a swig of the waterskin, and a nod of acknowledgement; Maximus decides to try the salt first. He presses the salt he recently gathered upon the door, while readying himself for what may be within.
The salt begins to heat and melt into the doorway.  Maximus jerks his hand back quickly to avoid the sting of the substance generated by the transformation.  The salt dissolves into acid, and with it the door glows momentarily, permitting passage through.    6 fire damage and 10 acid damage (16 total) - reflex 14 for half
Kellen's confidence surges as the door crumbles
Fizziwik checks on Max, heals him a little if needed (7 healed from a Lay on Hands), and then moves on to find what wonders they will encounter behind the next door.
