Import Dynamic Lighting

Dynamic Light is really awesome... except the setup. It's like i'm drawing my maps twice. Is there any consideration for allowing an image to be placed on the Lighting layer to be used as a boundary mask?  Black/white image, or transparent/opaque perhaps?  Be a bit of crossover from vector to raster, I'd imagine.  Would also need a flag similar to 'Is Drawing' to distinguish between a boundary object and other lighting objects on the layer.
