The articles of the Ten Companies state that all expeditions must do two things before receiving money for completed jobs . They must: a) write an account of their expedition (session log; this need not be long nor detailed) but please write it in the past tense and first person (from your character's point of view). b) update the map with new locations and names. So at the end of every session, a PLAYER must update create an expedition log or the players receive NO XP nor Gold for the adventure. A basic Campaign log lists: expedition members, an account of where traveled and the reason for the journey and any monsters encountered, good campsites or new locations discovered. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2845582/The%20Maladon%20Campaign.pdf

Experience and Gold for this first adventure (two sessions) is herein published; so that all may see where reward lies in the worshipful service of the Empire; Session 1: Into the Bonewood 1) Lord Darvin gifts each of member the Company of the Blue Sashes who undertook this mission; the sum of 50 gold, save for the barbarian Dirk and Jon Heron; who are fined half their pay for sloping off early. The GM further rewards the Company as follows: Session 1 For confronting the Cider Boys and reporting them to the authorities: 50 XP For confronting the Goblins and the Troll: 250 XP (not for fighting per se but for clever use of magic to escape a no-win fight) For Good roleplaying: 100 XP Session 2: Trouble in Gatesgarth For aiding the sons of Meg Of Gatesgarth, despite much verbal abuse; +3 Fellowship (Meg of Gatesgarth) For discovering Gatesgarth and dealing fairly with its folk; despite some provocation; 100 XP and 1 renown (Gatesgarth) For dealing fairly with the Grey Arrow tribe of Goblins; 200 XP and +1 renown (Grey Arrow Tribe) n.b. renown will be lost next new moon if hunter is not brought before the Goblins. For finding the Fane of the Haunter and defeating its Guardian 200 XP For Good Role-playing 100 XP For bringing the matter of the missing livestock to a close; 1 renown for each member of the Company present for BOTH sessions (Blue Sashes). Jon Heron; 25 gold and 80 XP Dirk Mossflower: 25 gold and 80 XP Orryn Treestrider : 50 gold and 230 XP, +3 Fellowship (Meg of Gatesgarth), +1 renown (Blue Sashes); +1 renown (Gatesgarth) Mindarkis: 50 gold & 230 XP: +3 fellowship (Meg of Gatesgarth), +1 renown (Blue Sashes);+1 renown (Gatesgarth);+1 renown (Grey Arrow Tribe). Shedim: 50 gold & 230 XP: +3 fellowship (Meg of Gatesgarth),+1 renown (Blue Sashes);+1 renown (Gatesgarth);+1 renown (Grey Arrow Tribe). Tarville: 150 XP; +3 fellowship (Meg of Gatesgarth); +2 renown (Gatesgarth); +1 renown (Grey Arrow Tribe). Renown is used in reaction rolls to determine the response of a community or organization to your character. The higher your renown, the more help you can call upon. Fellowship is the same but works on individuals and your influence over them. Hence Meg of Gatesgarth is now far more willing to aid some members of this company than she was before. Note that Fellowship and Renown are not always granted for 'good' deeds; some evil communities respect only strength and are impressed by violence or posturing. Should also mention that Renown and Fellowship both reduce or are 'spent' by asking for favours that require the target or group to take risks or give up matierla rescources. The mission was supposed to entail 30 gold total; but greater reward was given because this adventuring band prevented conflicts with both Gatesgarth and the Goblins despite a very tense atmosphere;; and increased the standing of the Blue Sashes in the eyes of both of these two parties. If the party had started a war with the Goblins of the Grey Arrow tribe, as well as the renegade Goblins, they could well have ended up with -1 or less renown for the Blue Sashes and a similar story if they were high handed with the folk of Gatesgarth. There is no limit to the heights or depths of renown but a -10 renown score will probably result in ejection from most of the Ten Companies............... I have rewarded Good roleplaying, as you can see. In future I will be rewarding very clever play or excellent RP with individual XP or other rewards. For example; Tarville lead the fightened villagers in soulful prayer during one part of this game (not reported in the log, but it happened) and so I gave him 2 renown with the people of Gatesgarth.

Hunting down the Cider Boys and the Scarlet Blades Brocc Cain accompanied by Lilla at the fort assault Dorn Kaar Syvil Vallith (I may have messed up the party I do not see the post with the attendees anymore and things in parenthesis I did not know the name of) The group had gotten together and started pooling information about the Cider Boys or Scarlet Blades but even with Cain’s retainer Viola and Dorn’s knowledge of the streets they could not find any real information about what they were going up against. The group only knew that they needed to go to the northern part of the lower city and look at the street of the three fishes. Here they found Vallith speaking to a guard and learned about the whereabouts of some possible Cider boys. The group came up with an idea to dress up Kaar as a wealthy man with a hefty purse to draw them out. Most of the group took the thugs head on while Cain and Dorn fought behind the enemies main line after a grueling fight only a few members of the party were still standing and they managed to capture a crazed woman named (Tallia) who admitted to being a Cider Boy member and had a map locating a Scarlet Blade hideout. After they received this information the group deduced that the veil was sending in spirits to the city and the Cider Boys were helping smuggle it in through a possible tunnel to the upper city. The group then spent some time debating if they should attack the castle that could be a possible trap or find a way to attack the supply of spirits the cider boys were bringing in. The group ultimately went with taking the siege of the castle and Adolpho gathered a ship with a siege catapult and Cain and Syvil went to the Rising Sun to request for paladins to aid them. The group had finally made landfall at the castle and it was being torn apart by the siege weapon mounted upon one of the ships and it had looked as though the brotherhood of light’s ship was having trouble with the wind and could not land. When they had reached the castle Lilla, Cain’s retainer, had joined them and most of the group waited at the front of the castle for Syvil and Dorn to intercept any stragglers at the rear of the castle. After the assault had begun and the frontal assault team had taken some damage they managed to break through. As for the intercept team they were met with the vicious leader of the group who landed some powerful blows on each of them leaving Syvil unconscious and to everyone’s dismay Dorn Dundragon’s death. After these events everyone in the castle was killed or captured and just when the cart looked as though it was about to get away Adolpho massacred the three men on the cart. The surviving members of the fort revealed that they were just mercenaries hired by (I forget who hired them) and were let go by the party. It also came to the realization of everyone that the Rising Sun were not having ship problems and through their political game decided not to join the fight. After this everyone mourned Dorn and funeral processions began for him.

Can I make an appeal to all future log writers to write your log in the past tense and first person (from your character's point of view) as altering it is taking me a lot of effort. It's my fault; should have stated it before.
