His eldest brother seemed to get everything, and his older brother never seemed to get in trouble. One day, Rezkin had enough, and left, going to seek solace in the forest. He was out walking, looking for a place to rest, when he found an obelisk, one with strange, almost eldritch markings on them. Curious, he decided to rest next to the obelisk. He studied it, yet he could not seem to understand. So every two days, he would head over to the obelisk, and study it, trying to learn what the secrets held, curious as to what the purpose of the obelisk was. He was up late one night, studying, when he fell asleep next to the obelisk, he dreamt of a strange fog, which seemed to be endless. Then he heard a voice, "Question not the words of Moander, lest you be stricken by the Eating From Within. Go forth and possess beings of all power and influence me. Slay, and let the rot cover all. Fear me, and obey." Terrified by these words, Rezkin readily agreed, and was swiftly awoken from these dream. He looked down at his hands, wondering why he had such a dream, when he saw part of his hand start to rot away. Running home, he told his family of what had happened. His family, told him that this dream was called "the seed of Moander." It meant he possessed certain power, but was bound to this eldritch being. His family urged him to leave, since such an pact is frowned upon in society, and greatly so. He hated to go to the Empire's lands, yet he had no choice, so he left.
