I've played a lot of D&D 3.5 and 4e (with a splash of Pathfinder thrown in) over the last 8 or so years, often as a DM. The headspace for all those rules. The hour-long combats. Sometimes it's just a bit much. I need a bit of a break from the splat book overload with an occasional freeform, rules light game. One shot? Perfect. A mini-series of 3 games? Sounds great. Epic, sprawling campaign massive amounts of backstory? Well... we can talk. Games that look interesting: 13th Age Numenera Wait, what? Well, I did say Rules Light(ish) in the title. I come from 3.5e/4e stock. These are more freeform and rules lighty-er in comparison. More games that look interesting: Blood & Treasure Monsters & Magic Torchbearer Microlite74 Microlite81 Swords & Wizardry Labyrinth Lord And might as well throw in the usual BX, BECMI and AD&D When? Well my own schedule can be weird. Right now Tuesdays and Thursday after 7pm PDT (GMT-8) or Saturday mornings starting around 10am PDT (GMT-8) are ideal for me but since we are only talking one shots or mini-series, I can be flexible.
