Okay so, I felt like making a forum post may work well for this idea I had, discuss it a bit to see what good things come up and bad ideas get filtered and see if there is interest in it so I may play out. First things first: This is an idea I have for me to run as GM, as much of a noob GM am I but gotta start somewhere, is though to run on Pathfinder and the 'regular' fantasy setting. The sorta background lore would be that the whole world was set into a great war for some reason, my first idea is use Paizo most basic stuff and say the runelords were NOT stopped from comming back, but the wars are done now, that is in the past. The point of this adventure would be what happens after. With the war raging, any and all grounds became fair game and the land was filled with battlegrounds, and in turn, filled with tombs, treasures and forgotten temples. A while after the wars were done, kings, influential lords, merchants and museums all set out prices for long lost artifcats to be recovered. That is where any and all adventurers come in! The game would be a bit of a rogue like game where indivuals or teams of different size set out to follow clues and eventually dive into ruins hoping to find treasures and artifacts of great value. Right now the plot is quite loose, is more of a running game for the fun of it, but there may be some little stories like towns fighting custody of a temple and/or its treasures, fellow hunters crossing each other of evil companies stealing important artifacts or destroying it. So far I have only though 2 points that call for 'home rules'. First is the fact that everybody can detect and disarm traps, even magical ones, however with a penalty of some sort, and maybe modify the trap system to make it a bigger point. Second is carry weight may get affected or bag space and access to 'of holding' items may need to ease up, no use in finding a 300 pound solid golden buddah only to take a month ot drag it out the place, and another 5 to get to a town! There is plenty else to plan but for now that is what is on my mind, so, any thoughs and anybody interested? Oh I wouldn't put a limit on players, players can go solo or in pair or full teams, as desired!
