LFGM Dresden Files

As the title suggests. I'm on the lookout for a group currently messing about with the Dresden Files FATE system. Been a fan of the books for years now and ever since I learned the game was a thing. I've been wanting to play it. So for now, I'll just throw up this topic to see if I can get any interested parties. Hopefully I can either find a group. Or hopefully get a group going.

Man, where were you a few weeks ago? Lol, I'm so busy now but previously I was trying to get a Dresden Files game going. It's hard to find GMs for it.

Well that's certainly a shame. At the very least I will give you a shout if this gathers any interest.

I'll a throw voice in as interested, but being too busy with my own game to take on GMing another (as well at not overly experienced with this system). Wishing you good luck though.

Hey there, I have been looking to join a Dresden game with a friend of mine. Both of us are very interested. Maybe we could put our heads together and make a group. I've GMed the game twice now (one for a year) and I'm personnaly looking to be a player. If you want to group up message me and we can see what happens.

If anything ever comes of this I'd be interested.

We have pleanty of players. A GM is what we need.

Dangit, looks like I found this thread way too late to join then. (I'd only be any good as a player, I'm pretty new to tabletop games) If there's anyone else in this thread that is also interested in playing a Dresden game, but wouldn't, or couldn't in my case, gm give me a shout, we could always start a separate thread also looking or create a group somewhere we can talk about the game until one of us would be comfortable enough to GM.

Erm - so only enquiring to see how I'd be set (i.e. don't all go crazy :)) but what time zones are you in? And how familiar are you with the rules? The deal goes thus: I have the rules, I love the setting but I've not been able to GM a lot and the players I do have aren't MAD on FATE - which means I think I'm missing familiarity with the system. I GET it, but I'm not strong with it (like the force). Depending on timezone/availability and if you'd all be ok with a slightly green Dresden GM...

I imagine I'll be the odd one out for my timezone, being at the 'wonderful' UTC +10. Also I must admit I'm very much so green at FATE, I'd go so far as to say newbie but I've at least played one session and read the Dresden Files rule book. For me personally my interest is very much in the world and setting, not the system itself.

Well I'm BST but I...uh...have quite a bit of free time (the downside being my non-free time can be announced a little short notice - days though, not hours). But if there's a slot of time everyone's happy with and I can manage it - lets talk! I'm all into the story telling/world/setting (though everyone likes to bravado their abilities every now and then I'm sure :)) I'm also UK based so if everyone wants to play in a US style city - fully expect me to Vancouver method it!

I happen to be pure GMT. And I'll be fine with playing whatever you give us.

OK folks of this thread. I'm counting 6-7 possible interested players. Two (including me) seem to be GMT ish timezones. How's everyone else set? And who's played the game before? (I have no problem with complete newcomers, as long as you're willing to learn (and by proxy, help me improve) I'm happy!) If enough are still interested I'd be eager to set up a game, have a short chitter about character and campaign and then figure out the best times to play. If I could get a show of hands here, and we get at least day 4 players, i'll begin...

Yes indeed Gary - sorry if my previous posts were a bit unclear :) I am offering to do so, as long as we can all figure a good time slot - and also as long as everyone is a bit understanding with my lack of practice with the rules (I have familiarity, and have run the game, but not a lot...) But otherwise yes - and it's just case of figuring out the where/when/what!

If it is not too late to chime in as a potential player, I would love to join in. My timezone is CST (5 hours behind GMT). 

*Shows hand,* though ah, generally you get to pick two of Europe, Asia/Pacific, Americas, when it comes to working out times, so yay for being awkward. Though unless it's say 12am to 6am my time, I'd probably try to make it work.

I'm pretty open on time slots. Basically can't do Sundays but other than that I'm good to do any day and any time. Paul if you could make a campaign and invite us we could hammer out details pretty quick

OK - Short term I've just shot out a few private messages. The campaign is pretty much a placeholder at the moment, but let me know when you've joined and I can assign you the character sheet thang. If I've missed anyone (likely) drop a note below and I'll send you the campaign link. As long as we can figure out a day and I can sweet talk the wife, I'm fairly certain we can make this work :-) At the moments it looks like: No Sundays Not too early BST I'd be quite interested in actually doing the whole character build/campaign build as a group, but if that's not to everyone's liking, I'm quite happy to just build up a city and figure out how you link into it and we can all build around it. See you in the campaign!

Let me know if anyone's not got the messages with the private link or it's not working for 'reasons'. Those who have already joined should have character sheets available if you wanted to start thinking of names, etc. I'll now confine conversations to the game forum, just to be polite

I'd be happy to play with you guys as well. I'm PST so it'll depend a lot on where the time slot lands. (Didn't get a pm by the way.)

OK Just to put it out - we're up to 7 players (I was planning on stopping at 6, and then realised I'd already passed that, so...) Sorry if there's anyone late to the conversation that wants to join - but as many of us are still fresh to FATE and all new to each other, I think I'll have to cap it there (with Topec being the last joinee). If all goes minty and we feel we could add more players or we have some who can't continue, etc, I'll drop a note here to let those who missed out know.
