Hello all, Looking to see who would be interested in playing in a campaign based around the video game that came out called The Division. For those that dont know or dont know much about the setting. A Bio-engineering small pox virus was created and had gotten out on Black Friday, They named the virus "The Dollar flu" as thats how it was passed around. Much of the USA Population went down in days which leaves the US population in a post Pandemic state. A Government Organization activates sleeper agents in waves known as " The Division" The Division works as a last stand for hold humanity together with law and order, controlling riots, Jail breakers and other threat, helping the JTF( Joint task Force) which consists of Police, Firemen, EMS, Nurses, DR etc. The Division goes out in waves trying to to clear city blocks and bring civil order back from the brink of chaos. The First wave had gone out asap some reported dead others MIA. The group playing will be part of the second wave of agents getting activated. Agents are everyday normal people, Accountants, Dr, Lawyers, maintenance workers etc. Usually based on career options is an agent chosen and obvioulsy given sometype of training along the way. I plan on playing this with Hunters hunted II rules based on world of darkness.( no there are no vampires, zombies, werewolves etc.) If there is an interest the game will be played over the Voip that roll20 has with minimal to no tokens in play. there will be a few maps. Mature players of 18+ as this will contain violence, cursing etc. If you have an interest please send me a PM or leave a message here
Having played the division, I am a bit iffy with the game in and off itself, but the idea behind it is really awesome. The idea of running a game based on that sounds like a very good idea. If you run this, what days and times (with time zones) do you plan for? Not familiar with Hunters, but if it is something that I can fit into my schedule, it would be worth doing it. Here is a link to a live action trailer of the game, it should help generate a lot of interest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GLJPKQSBuc

It is soley based off the premise of the game not the actual video game lol. It will be set in another city as well. I can mainly run Late sunday nights or monday afternoons. time zone is cst. As far as Hunters Hunted II, its still up for debate, i like the idea of pool backgrounds as well as other things with in the rules( of course the super natural things will be disabled) I can also do savage worlds or modern d20.
Bumping
I would totally be down for this.
I play The Division and would definitely be interested in checking out a game based on it's story. Being an MMO you kinda have to create your own back story and fill in the current details as you play. Like when I'm running through the streets and find two people fighting over some supplies I fire my pistol into the air to clear them off the street or sometimes a dog is menacing people I shoot it. It would also be interesting to be able to see some actual progression as our agents clean up the city or suffer setbacks, maybe even find a way to incorporate improving your BOO? I'm not really familiar with the systems you named but I'm willing to learn anything. It crosses my mind that something like Fate Core might provided the flexibility and plug and play ease of fitting The Division setting into a game but I'm certainly no expert when it comes to systems. Either way I'd like to keep an eye on this idea.
I'd be interested in getting in on this, depending if the day/time lines up. I havent played the Division, but it's premise sounds like it'd be pretty cool to see played out in an rpg. As for the system choice, haven't played Hunters hunted, but if it's like any other WoD game, then I'm sure the merits/background would give room for plenty of varied characters; same would go for Savage worlds. Also wouldn't hurt to consider different systems out there that may better suit the type of game your looking to run. 'Blades in the Dark' would need some cosmetic changes, but is all about a group of people using their wits and resources as they struggle to take and secure the streets of a city against the different factions. With the many different 'Apocalypse World' games out there and how hackable they are, I wouldn't be surprised if there's something suiteable for this with a bit of adjust ments, 'the regiment' comes to mind.
So sad, not fan of system but love the division
Update: System: is still up to debate( Taking suggestions), I am not a d20 fan so that rules out alot of systems. I am however able to run it on Savage worlds, Hunters hunted II( you have backgrounds and merits and modded merits to suit game), an maybe Modern D20( cringe worthy) Days/Times: Mondays are my preferred as that is my only day off for the week. Time can be adjusted on CST time zone

I know you shy away from d20 games but mentioned. Modern d20. What about Spycraft? Ninjas & superspies? Fate?

Well Spycraft is d20 system that is geared for spy games. I've only played in one campaign and enjoyed as it as it felt like an espionage story. But your game boss :) I will definitely consider joining regardless of system as its division.
Teddy F....Assuming that isn't an old friend of my once named Aurelius( :-) ) has it right with Spycraft. Pretty much that game is designed FOR The Division, with all the work Ubisoft didn't want to put in. :-) The one problem, is that it is VERY table heavy. But since I don't see us abusing the requisitions system as much in a walled off outbreak, I think it could work quite well.
Sounds interesting. Definitely down for that, as long as the game time agrees with me. System-wise, WoD and SW definitely get the job done. FATE might too. Not too sure about Spycraft.

Going to be trying Fate core system, see how it works out, if not we can always switch systems.
