Pathfinder AP starting - Shattered Star Mon PST

Wanted to see if there was interest in starting a PF campaign specifically the Shattered Star AP. Looking to run Mon eves PST (6:30-10pm). If you're not familiar Shattered Star is a fairly old-school-ish campaign a la the rod of seven parts, lots of dungeons, a fair bit of diplomacy/intrigue actually. Uses the PF rules. The Shattered Star players guide is a free pdf download available here: http://paizo.com/products/btpy8txj?Pathfinder-Adventure-Path-Shattered-Star-Players-Guide Characters are starting level 1, 20 point buy. I'm open to any paizo-published content (CRB, APG, UC, UM etc.). I don't mind the stranger choices like gunslingers (for this campaign). I'd prefer not to use any other material. Also, this will be first try running a game with roll20 but have GMed for many years.
definitely interested though somewhat leary of playing shattered star since i may end up playing it again once it is sanctioned for society play
I would be interested in playing. I have have never played PF but I have played a lot of D&D 3.5.
Sounds great. Sure we'll get some more responses. Dylos, As for society play I know they've sanctioned some modules but never heard of them doing APs. Though with the pathfinder organization's role I can see that being likely. Though I am sure I will be modifying, changing some things as I go along too. Fenrisulfr, yep PF is pretty similar to 3.5. For a player the biggest changes are the abilities to the core classes though a few other things were tweaked, streamlined as well. I've run some stuff in PF since the change and am still coming across some small changes, so no worries there. When you have a chance give the players guide a read over and feel free to post character ideas here. Also, assuming we have some more players looking to start Mon Dec 10.
I'm interested in playing, thinking about playing a kobold. I haven't read through the players guide yet so don't know if it would fit but just a thought.
I'm extremely interested in playing this campaign!! I believe 6'30 PST is 4'30 AM in Greece, I will manage to wake up that early but I may need to speak in a very low voice at the start of each session, I hope that is not a problem for you guys ^^. I have not read the players' guide yet, but I am thinking maybe a curious halfling bard, aspiring to become a Pathfinder Agent one day.... I am okay with 10dec, just awaiting for you to accept me in your campaign to create my character as well ^^.
I would love to get in in this as well. I'm central time zone which makes it 8:30 I believe. That would be perfect for me. If Felix and Gio use those characters then I can go gnome alchemist and we'll have a small party.
I'm very interested, Haven't read the guide yet but I would make a Druid.
I'm interested is it full
Read through the player's guide, and I am very interested if you still have room. I was thinking about taking the Ruin Raider campaign trait (if you are allowing that), and making a very greed-driven dwarven bard.
you haven't heard of sanctioned APs because this and runelords will be first, it has been mentioned that it will happen but not sure when yet that being said I'm still interested in this group
Id like to get in on the game if it isnt full.
I would be interested as well. I'd try a magus or a wizard.
Decided I'm going to play a shoanti Tribesman
Hi all. Looks like there's some good interest which is great. As for the group size I think six is the uppermost. Dylos & Fen: feel free to post or msg me re character concepts. Felix: Shoanti definitely works though I think a kobold would've greatly suited this campaign too. What class were you thinking, melee, divine caster? Gio: thanks for the interest, but are you sure about the 4:30am commitment? Seems a bit much I guess unless you're doing shift work. Mordant: Gnome alchemist certainly works! Mike: A druid could certainly work. While there's some wilderness travel the campaign is fairly dungeons, ruins, caves, underdark just to be aware. Ryan: Yep, the ruin-raider and any of the traits given in the PG are open. A greedy dwarf bard could certainly work. I think I'm going to close it there. If folks like it might be good to use this thread to brainstorm roles in the party so everyone knows who is playing what.
I am a university student, however I only have to attend on Thursdays and Fridays, the rest of the week I am working on the second chapter of a Manga I published, my Thesis and sport. I normally wake up each morning at 6:00 am to run 7 Km before going to the gym, I'll simply wake up a bit earlier (sleep a bit earlier as well), on Wednesdays (It'd be Wednesday here), and play D&D instead of doing sports. You see... Aside from GMing, I have not played a single D&D Session in about two and a half years, I would be probably be okay even with a heavier schedule. Please, count me in ^^. I was creating the Halfling Bard I'd like to play today, in an actual Character Sheet based on 20point buy, and Paizo only material. In case I do get to play, I'd like to know if we are starting with average gold or something else, also while I haven't the whole background fleshed out yet, I do have a few things on mind, and most of his personality thought out, I'd like to talk to you about a few details. Also, as this will be my first time in a roll20 campaign, how do we send you our character? via Private Message?, Is there a Character Sheet we may fill? or something else? Thanks a lot for your time, and I really hope I can play here ^^ ~
Hey Gio, all right if you're sure that will work for you, As for character wealth yep just the average starting amounts. You can pm me and should be able to send character sheets that way as well. Here's an NPC template that could be filled in for characters.
I'm thinking a Varisian Tattooed Sorcerer, thinking Elemental (Air) for the bloodline.
Well, if Gio is going to play a Bard, I think I will go with a rogue instead. To be honest, I'll probably like that better.
Yeah I if I were to play a kobold and I'd want to be a sorcerer for my concept to work. I don't want to have 2 sorcerers in a party if I can help it, I'll be playing a Human Fighter(Two-Weapon warrior) gon' use a earth breaker and klar at 2nd level. I finished stating him I'll give you a link in a little while Backstorywise I'm going to be a shoanti tribesman that left is tribe to find himself and explore varisia, he eventually became a pathfinder. gonna flesh it out more but that's what I got so far
I finished stating my Bard Halfling, Background is almost complete as well. I will send you the details tomorrow ^^. Btw, I can't see the NPC template you posted, all i see is a blank page or something.
So, is there a good online resource to send my character sheet over? Because I am just going to write it down on paper for my use.
You should try myth weaver's website. They have free character sheets that you can post online.
You should try myth weaver's website. They have free character sheets that you can post online. this, myth-weavers.com
Ill message you my character sheet soon. also Ryan, try Mythweavers
I'd be interested in joining if you still need players?
So looks like we have: Shoanti fighter Varisian Sorcerer Halfling Bard Gnome Alchemist Rogue Wizard (Fenris) Druid The NPC template is a word doc it comes up on my computer fine though the spacing is a little off in places (it was converted from a pages files to a word doc). So not sure you could also go to http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2o3su?NPCMonster-Stat-Block-Template-Creator go to the bottom of the thread and click on the spoiler. Cut and paste the stat block and you're good to go. I see that pms don't allow you to attach files (unless I'm mistaken) feel free to email me at wyrdwik@gmail.com As for background for characters I don't expect a huge writeup but a couple of paragraphs to pitch some sort of concept, and motivations/goals I think will be helpful for you as a player. I would also suggest to think of why you're character would be interested in being a Pathfinder and more broadly an adventurer. The players guide does a pretty good job of giving a variety of suggestions that should appeal to most playing styles and alignments. Re the setup, how are folks for using google+ hangouts?
Nozza, sorry we are full at this time and I have told some other folks that I'd msg them if there was an opening later. Good luck
I set up a Google+ account for another game (that ended shortly thereafter) but I haven't used the hangout function. I'm fine with using it for the game and I also have Skype if that's helpfull.
As people are putting together their characters, aside from background feel free to let me know a bit about what you're looking for as a player, what play style you enjoy (e.g. tactics, rp, investigation). You may want to come up with some connections to the other characters too, perhaps you've worked with them or even related. Feel free to chat ideas in the thread here. The campaign is pretty versatile and of course I'll try to tailor things as we go. As for myself, hoping to run a fun casual game, I'm not usually big on the dungeons but was impressed with the books particularly the first adventure and it seemed like it would lend itself well to a VTT setup. The campaign works well for a range of characters. Fafhrd, Grey Mouser, Conan or the guys from Skullkickers comics would be right at home. So while I don't recommend evil characters, scoundrels, tomb-robbers work but there are also noble reasons for the ongoing quest.
I generally like all aspects of the game, Rp, Battles, Dungeon-Delving, Investigations, Puzzles, Comic-Relief etc... Almost equally, I do have a slight preference for Role Play over the others, yet I enjoy them all and would to have feature from each as I play. I'll send you my stat-block in a couple of minutes ~
I enjoy role playing as well as roll playing (and I'm willing to provide as much comic relief as you can put up with). Puzzles and riddles aren't exactly my bag, but I'm perfectly happy to help others solve them. I've gamed with the same group of people for the last 15 years (and still do), so I excited to try something new, so to speak. As for my gnome alchemist, he is your typical, happy-go-lucky mad bomber. Just watch your step bigfoot or this little guy might take you down a peg.
I also enjoy all aspects of the game, especially roleplaying and puzzles (however if I'm doing the two together I only have have 13 intelligence), that being said, I have had writer's block for several years now, and it has put a hamper on my roleplaying as well. As for my varisian tattooed sorcerer, she is an Ex-Sczarni (expect me to mispeel that several times if I'm not copy-pasting it), she isn't quick to trust others, and is even slower to forgive those who betray her trust if they earn it. She became a pathfinder for protection from the Sczarni. She has told the pathfinders that her name is simply Runa, however varisians have been known to give different names to different people and organizations, so weather or not that is actually her name is not certain (however the pathfinders were relieved that she did not say her name was Runa White {sorry pathfinder society reference, I couldn't resist.}). She also has a tattoo that resembles a cat on her left bicep. Also, I just wanted to check, are we starting next monday (the 10th)?
Yeah, I think I'm going to back out of this one, I'm busier then I expected and wont have any good time until after cristmas
Just sent the background. I believe we are supposed to play next Monday (10th) ^^. I'll be playing Tim Timery. He is an optimistic, friendly and cheerful Halfling, yet he is a bit of a scaredy cat even if he tries to conceal it. Tim was raised in a extremely peaceful and beautiful city, the democratic Utopia of Osibu, as such he grew up to be quite innocent and childish. His curiosity, childish behavior and overdone innocence have him getting in trouble more often than not. He is a believer of Desna and as such strongly believes in his luck, as a matter of fact he tosses a coin now and then to make some important decisions. He is driven by a unquenchable thirst for knowledge, explorations, an ambition to get his hands on old relics or artifacts, and his wish get his work in the pathfinder chronicles. He has a birthmark on his neck, and a tattoo depicting a dragon playing a guitar on his right arm (from elbow to wrist).
Hi all so on track for tomorrow 6:30 PST. Will send the invite and some additional info.
