Planning Calendar

I was thinking it would be nice to have some sort of mutual calendar in the campaigns for GMs and Players to select dates/times that they would want to play perhaps a month at a time. Then all the GM has to do is pick dates/times that everyone checked off on. This saves the GM and players a lot of time from having to poll dates/times for gatherings and get more time into playing. I already use other social media sites to plan these but would be nice to just do it right here on Roll20. Easier to ask folks to pick dates right after an exciting session as well without having to wait for a GM to start that next social media event...What do you guys think?
I think it would be nice, but irrelevant since there are plenty of other mediums you could use to accomplish this. I personally like Doodle since it incorporates time zones, and is quick & easy to use.
It's not irrelevant at all. I'd much rather have an integrated event scheduling system here than have a half dozen or more systems elsewhere.
My main gripe with the other event planners, doodle for example, is that they are pretty much set for one-time events and do not really have a system in place for reoccurring events. I am new to GM'ing so take my inexperience opinion with a grain of salt but I find aligning everyone's schedule for continual play the most frustrating part. Roll20 being an easy-to-use virtual desktop has minimized that pain as my players are more flexible to dates when they can sit in front of their computers in their pajamas but I still find myself having to get in contact with each member to poll for availability. Having players initiate and reveal a part of their monthly availability would really aid in completing campaigns. Given how many suggestions Roll20 gets though, I know this would be a long shot but thought I would share none-the-less.
I'm using googleplus events to organize my events. You can duplicate past events to keep the same settings.
@ lambots: You may want to check out the website Epic Words. It's a campaign management program that is similar to Obsidian Portal, but it was developed before Obsidian Portal. Anyway, it's a pretty cool program that offers a limited free account. However, the last time I checked it was like $12 USD to subscribe for a year of service. Anyway, each campaign created there has it's own forum, wiki, journal feature, and a wealth of other campaign tracking features. It also has an automatic (i.e., reoccurring) game session notification feature. Under a free account, a GM can create one active Campaign, and a player can have up to three active characters, IIRC. Anyway, the point being that if you are only going to use it for one Campaign, then both you (the GM) and your players only need to subscribe for the free account option. However, the really cool thing about the free account is that you can archive your characters or campaigns. For example, as a GM you can archive your free campaign, and this frees up your slot so that you can create another active campaign. It works the same way for active characters as well; i.e., you can archive a character to free up one of three active slots allowed in the free account. In my opinion the Google calendar does everything that is needed to schedule games in the real world. It manages time zones, invites groups, sets reoccurring meetings, tracks meeting notifications (so you know if people got the invitation)...but it does not integrate with Roll20.net. It would be nice if Roll20.net could include an option to let the game's GM send invitations in Web calendar format, so it can be booked in players' Google calendar or Yahoo calendar or Microsoft Outlook calendar or Apple calendar or any other compatible calendar.
