I think the pace is good as well. I am confused about one in game thing though. Have we collected 4 pods total, or just 3, and are all the collected ones at the same location?
Pat S. said: you would only hear it if your character was psychic. Those characters got whispers. Ajax is also hearing whispers, but it is only the persistent voice inside his head telling him to wait just a little longer before killing the others.
I don't mind the pace, although I'm in three games right now. I've had a busy 10 days so I'm part of the stalling problem, I'll be posting more frequently this upcoming week.
Having a slight difficulty in the game as I was reviewing the character's bio tab again and ran into a road block. I know how to handle Ajax and Bud as they are military and adventurer type. Daniel and Melody are psychics and I know how to handle them. Timothy is the expert but nothing in his background suggests what he is a expert at other than shagging a congressman's daughter. Political reason's put him on the mission but I don't have a clear clue about the character so I'm starting to spin it as him being clueless of what the mission is other than what the public knows. I really don't know what else to do as there is nothing else to work with. Suggestions anyone?
Let's put out some information and dimensions so that everyone understands the scene. The mesa is slightly over 100 ft high (stated in game text). The statue is carved out of the mesa cliff wall (stated in game text). The bottom of the statue appears to start about a third of the way up the cliff wall. The eyesockets of the statue are big enough for Ajax to physically crawl through the opening and partially inside the cavity while in his armored pressure suit (not a smart move). The crystal that was found at the bottom of the cliff wall appears to be shaped to fit either of the empty eyesockets. This means that crystal is at least as big around as Ajax's waist and proportional as thick. It is also faceted. The crystal that was found built into the eyesockets cavity wall is at least as big as Ajax's head and allows light to be shined through it from one cavity to the other but only at specific angle. I think that covers the known facts (but not the unknown ones).
unfortunately I will have to cancel this weeks game. My father is in the hospital and it's not looking good. I'm going out of town to see him before it's too late. I'll be back next week hopefully.
It is ok to miss some things due to real life issues such as your father being sick and double so since this is just a playbypost game with no actual sessions. I would wish him speedily recovery but from your post that will not happen so you have my sympathies.
As you all effectively split the party in two, I see a few ways this is going to go down. I focus on Melody and Daniel characters which will leave the rest of you in limbo mostly, I focus on the rest of you which leaves Melody and Daniel in limbo, or I try to split the focus on both groups which will confuse the hell out of some of you. This puts me in a quandry now.
Yup. With the split, those in the transport are basically spectators for the most part. I was expecting a running battle in the base or a running battle in the transport. Now it is transport speeding away, being ignored while their target is in the base.
Persephone said: Told you guys you'd either love or hate my character :P Sorry it's causing issues with the gameplay though. Melody is quite memorable.
Just to let you all know, the game is on the last leg of the storyline. You have a few key points ahead (if you don't get destroyed) then it will be a wrap.
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed the game. (I'm sure the others will agree.) It has elements of mystery, not knowing what we will encounter, challenges to figure out, and has suspense, wondering if we will survive or not. If you host another game, please let me know.
Thank you. I had a storyline to tell but it was also based on everyone's actions so it became everyone's story. There is much that is not discovered but those are just minor things that I had in place in the chance you all went in a different direction of action. Some of those things would have lead to the group's destruction (and a few are still possible) but overall it went in the direction I thought it would. From the get go, I made sure everyone knew this was a closed ended game and would end when specific goals have been reached. A couple of them have been and there is a few left so when those goals are reached, the game will be wrapped up. I also wanted to try an almost mechanics free game with results being based on logical events proceeding the actions of the characters.
I believe there has been a miscommunication somehow. Only items carried into the tube chamber, not the room, are destroyed. If a character strips prior to entering the tube then the items are untouched.
I believe Persephone is offline for a long time now or at least have to drop out of the game due to real life issues. I will take over Melody and we will finish up the game.
Yo Yo...Spring Break 2016 heads into my household.....whoop whoop....get yer beer bongs ready!!!! No really, taking the fam to the desert. Be gone for a week. @Pat take the reigns is needed.
Sorry that I have not been posting any but life has gotten busy for me at the moment. A storm that blew through the area, knocked out my dryer so I'm having to work on it and the wife fell in the shower but she was lucky and broke nothing. I'm planning on posting within the next few days when life settles back down.
Would you be planning a sequel to this when the characters return home? There is fame, possible fortune, and another base to explore as well as our employers trying to get in on the action.
