[LFP] DM For Hire Seeking Dedicated Players!

Hello everyone, As a long-time DM whose dream of merely playing in a campaign seems to have run adrift, I would like to put in my consideration as a DM or GM to a future campaign of the player's collective choosing. However, due to a full time job and the fact that I commit myself wholly to running a campaign to its fullest - including constant roleplaying between games, visual set up, secret player interactions, and other provisions - I am asking for modest compensation for me time. We shall see how this endeavors turns out! I have been a DM for around 10 years now. I have run campaigns and one-shots ranging from Lord of the Rings to Star Wars to Superheroes to Traditional Fantasy and beyond. Among my primary areas of focus are player interaction, roleplaying, immersion, and story. Combat always has a reason, and the core of the campaign is the party and the main characters. Every character's backstory is woven into the campaign, so they all have an important role to play. There are no "background" characters in the party. Everyone is a lead. My campaigns aren't just played once a week during game time. All week long we have roleplaying and storytelling, continuing the adventure with text until our next session. This creates a living world that rarely sleeps, and fun times are always to be had! I use messaging programs like Slack to keep on top of roleplaying during the week. In fact, a good 80% of roleplaying tends to be done during the week between games - leaving the games themselves for running combat and other more sensitive NPC interactions. There are a few things I expect of players, and they are not grueling tasks by any means: PARTICIPATION: This is the primary requirement. As mentioned before, roleplaying is constant and vibrant, interactive and fun. Players will need to keep on top of responses, and not just show up at game time asking about what they missed during the week. RELAX: I'm a very laid back, humorous guy. While I take gaming seriously (and both expect and hope players to as well) please don't treat the game as some competition. We're all here to socialize and live out an amazing adventure. Your characters may die. NPCs may not cooperate. Treasure may not be epic. None of these are reasons to rage quit and ruin the enjoyment for others. BACKSTORY: As mentioned above, every character is important. Every character should have a history, a present task, and a future goal. A wandering mercenary who glowers in a bar, with no ambition other than drinking and getting paid, simply won't cut it. I am more than happy to spend a lot of time developing characters before we begin, and help out in any way I can to help forge a well-rounded and very personal character. COMMUNICATION: If you can't show up for a game, please tell everyone ahead of time. If you have concerns or issues, please bring them to me privately and in a mature fashion. I'm happy to help in any way I can. LATE GAMES: Due to work and family, games will need to be in the late evenings (at least 10 PM EST // 7 PM PST) and typically last about 4 hours. However, any day of the week works for me so that remains flexible. By far my favorite RPG system to run is D&D 5th Edition, and the one with which I have the most experience . However, there are other options to be considered and everything can be discussed. Below is a list of my top choices to run, numbered in order of preference: Star Wars (5e Conversion) Star Wars Saga Edition Lord of the Rings (5e Conversion) Traditional 5e Campaign (i.e. Tyranny of Dragons, EE, Strahd, etc.) Superhero Campaign (Tristat/d20) Neverland Setting (5e Conversion) Wizard of Oz Setting (5e Conversion) All 5th Edition conversion materials and references are available on request. ROLL20 DISCLAIMER: This game will require payment for my time as a Game Master at a rate of $10 per week per player. Be advised that payment will occur off site via Paypal and cannot be enforced by the Roll20 staff.
Hello! You've gotten me very interested. I've played and very much enjoyed several of the systems you listed, and I'd be happy to take part in your games, 5e or otherwise.
