Looking for 1 new player (new to D&D that is) to join a 5E forgotten realms custom campaign

Edited 1470194968
Short story is I lost my 4th member but the group is still young, so I think adding a 4th new-to-D&D'er wouldn't be so tough! I thought I'd post my original LFG post so you can get an idea about what I and my group are all about (and since I put so much damn time into it!!) and what kind of person I'm looking for. If you're interested, feel free to follow the template I ask for below, or to just post here or PM me about yourself. Quick things I'm looking for are someone not still in school to ensure maturity and comfort with mature language and themes (18+ please), little or no experience in D&D or roleplaying, good internet/tech setup as well as ability to do voice and video without constant roboting, reconnecting, somebody else in the room yelling., commitment to make our regular game times 95%+ of the time, and, most of all, someone who's fun to play this awesome game with! Our next game is tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12PM MST so if we can get somebody on board that quickly, that'd be great, but I won't get my hopes up. :) Good luck! ========Original LFG Post:======== Hey all! Andy here. ## Huh?! I'm currently looking for 3-4 people who are either new to D&D, roll20, 5th edition, or any combination. I haven't DM'ed in about 10 years and I'm still getting used to 5th edition and roll20 myself but want to run this campaign to get my DM-ing chops up as well as help a few people get into the wonderful world of digital Dungeons & Dragons! And so, among you new players, I am also bringing in 1 or 2 of my friends whom are very experienced, not only with DM-ing their own games, but also playing in others. They will take a kind of "backseat" role, I imagine, and will be helping all of us along the way. ## Session Details On to some details! We will start with a **"zero session"** in I which we will: * Develop our characters, fill out character sheets, get to know 5th edition a little better and answer any questions players have before we start our first session. * Typically about the world/environment we will be playing in, but for our case, we will talk a bit about the background of your group, why you are there, and what the point/goal of your current predicament is. After the "zero session", we will start with 1-2 custom encounters and then move on to a pre-made adventure. That is currently my plan but we'll see what happens. My friends and I are very anxious to bring new people in and also flexible on where our party goes in the future. Think about what kind of characters you want to play. ## How to Apply: Please post a new topic with the following information: - Your timezone - Your age - Gaming experience, digital, tabletop, cards or... anything! - The root of your interest in fantasy; why do you want to join a D&D session? - Any experience you have in creative hobbies/activities (writing, acting, music, playing cops and robbers as a kid?!... anything!) - Your experience in D&D, if any (Don't worry if this is none! That's what we're here for!) Also, please note that I am a twitch streamer and plan on streaming all of our sessions, including character setup, on my twitch account: https://www.twitch.tv/andizlack - therefore, you will need to be able socially and technically to either join and use a group meeting program and have the bandwidth to not sound like a robot! I'll be messaging you with a scheduler link for you to figure out so we can come up with specifics on when to meet, but the plan is 2-3 hours once a week with a 2-3 10 minute breaks. Preference will be given to those who can make early/late afternoon weekday sessions. So be sure to check your inboxes here on roll20 for more info! Feel free to stop by my stream and say hi if you'd like! **Happy hunting!** -Andy
Florida (EST) 28 Tabletop D&D, video games To enjoy myself Reading, being a bum I've hosted a few games, played a few games. Mainly 3.5 and 4e. Getting into 5e lately
- Central Time - 19 - play d&d once in high school, learned a lot, video games - D&D; to play D&D - Tag, does that count? - played it once in highschool with 5e
EST Time 19 Warhammer 40k and Digital Gaming. To see a different world or even a different view of the same world. Music, Photoshop and writing. Played it with friends even though it seemed off compared to the real version.
-Eastern, 30 -Experienced videogamer Played in a few 5e sessions but haven't had the opportunity to experience a full campaign. New to roll20. Got character creation down but I want to fully flesh out a character. -Grown interested in D&D by watching Critical Role and Acquisitions Inc. and others. -I will probably be difficult to handle by thinking outside the box a lot. But all to make the event more entertaining.
- Eastern Timezone [New York] - 26 - Extensive video game playing haha, have looked into D&D sessions but have never joined one unfortunately. - I love fantasy worlds and have always been interested in joining a D&D campaign to delve into the world deeper than a video game often allows. I love worlds of magic, lore and story I just have never known anyone to play with locally so i have decided to try online! - I've played the drums my whole life, and have interest in writing a series of books [not sure about being able to do this though]. I feel like I can produce a fun and entertaining character, I am certainly not shy and am hoping to have a great time. -No D&D experience.
My Timezone -5 GMT (Eastern Standard Timezone) Age 29 Years Gaming Experience Been a gamer since I was 2 years old. I was raised on the old systems and have tried numerous setups. I have played on laptops, Xbox, Playstation, Super Nintendo, Regular Nintendo, even the old Gameboy Bricks. I have played everything from Magic The Gathering to Magi Duels. I've also played Pathfinder, Ways of the Wicked, Marvel Heroics, and now plan to go into learning D&D if you'll allow me. Fantasy Interest I've always been fascinated with the world of mythology and lore. There are seeds of truth in every legend if you look hard enough. I find games a unique way to learn about the world via an artist's rendering of their own inner fantasies such as gaming. I've been known to write things myself from time to time. Hobbies Geek things too numerous to list. D&D Experience None really beyond the basic online MMOs. But I have played an absurd amount of pathfinder; so I don't think I'll be too bad off.
Curious, did you mean 12AM?
12PM, also known as noon, MST :)
With the posts here and all the PM's I've received though I'm gonna go ahead and close this down though as I'm just looking for 1 more person. Anybody who made it this far, thanks for reading!
