Idea for Fate scifi setting

Has any one thought about using the Fate system to create a campaign set in the the Star Trek universe?
Not at any great length but the idea has come up. I'm actually thinking about trying a Robotech conversion but that's down the road still. Let me know if you come up with anything. I'd like to see what your thoughts are.
I was thinking about uses the various species in the Star Trek verse to set up bonus for starting skills for example Vulcans: Will +5 Physique +4 Investigate +5 and Lore +4 to represent there superhuman mental capabilities and physiology. Klingons: Physique +5 Fight +5 Athletics +4 Shoot +4 to reflect there robust physiology and warrior culture. Humans being naturally diverse and adaptable would receive a number of extra skills or skill levels to reflect this
I just use the Trek games out there. more than adequate, but the idea is interesting.
