Hi Sarah, I've been thinking about putting together a new online gaming group and the weeknights you mention as available seem to work with my schedule. You also mention D&D is not your first choice and I have no issue with that either. But what caught my eye about your post was your interest in sandbox style gaming, which happens to be my favorite way to run games. I normally only give a game a slight nudge at the start to get things going and then will typically allow the players and the goals they choose to pursue to inform the manner in which the game plays out. Some possible ideas for sandbox style games that I could put together include: - Motley crew of misfits on board their plucky if old and beat up spaceship getting into shenanigans while travelling from world to world. System used: Almost certainly Stars Without Number, which was designed with sandbox style gaming in mind. - Group of occultists and/or hunters who battle a nightly war against supernatural threats. The world is a much darker place than most suspect and it takes a heavy toll on those who know the truth. System used: I would lean towards Silent legions, which was also designed with sandbox play in mind (in fact, it's published by the same guy that made Stars Without Number), but I would consider other games as well. C.J Carella's Witchcraft comes to mind. Some of the World of Darkness games might also fit the bill. - While venal nobles indulge their baser appetites, primeval monstrosities slither from the dark corners of the world to feast on the countless dead while our group of cut throats and mercenaries make their way in a blood drenched land of war and strife. System used: If you like fantasy/swords & sorcery, just not D&D, I can run something using Barbarians of Lemuria, which emulates Swords & Sorcery rather than traditional high fantasy (think Conan the barbarian, Game of Thrones if it was all set in Essos, or the myths of the ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians or Babylonians). Or if you prefer something more recognizably medieval European, perhaps Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay or Shadows of the Demon Lord. I run my games using Skype for voice but no video. Give it some thought and feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Thanks. Alex
