New Player D&D 5E - LFG and Training

Hi everyone! I am an avid gamer although never got into RPG Tabletops , i did try Warhammer 40k as a kid but it was the model making, painting and lack of RP which turned me away. I recently found new inspiration after watching HarmonQuest with a friend and we are both wanting to play and learn. I live in Spain (Originally from the UK) so i am GMT +1 but bit of a night owl so always up late and very flexible. I have the D&D 5 Player handbook which i am reading as well as watching tutorials, but know that learning will come faster with experience. I am 28 and also have friends all older than 25 who are also interested in playing. Myself i am open to learning as much as possible, and i know running games can take a lot of time and work building the adventures etc and would enjoy working along side someone as i learn to share that responsibility, i am also pretty good with Computers and Photoshop (i make adverts and put together a newspaper as work) so could be an advantage! So maybe your a GM/DM and want to play more as a character, or want to share the responsibility or work in running a campaign, please feel free to write me back or PM me - I would love to get started straight away, either by voice chat, or text, Facetime/Facebook messenger what ever is easier for people -
Hey mate! Im 33yo and played a lot of tabletop RPGs back when I was young but its been years since I last played and treat myself as a beginner for all intents and purposes! Also completely new to roll20 and online gaming so im looking to learn by experience. Not playing hasnt stopped me from buying and reading books however and my last purchase was all three corebooks for 5e :) Was hoping to get a group up and running IRL but sofar that hasnt happened, which is why ive become interested in online gaming. I live in sweden, gmt+1, so scheduling shouldnt be much of an issue as im often up late both weeks and weekends. It sounds like were in the same situation so perhaps we could start up something for beginners together? Im mostely interested in attending as a player initially but would be open for GMing later on if things work out.
Hi Marcus, thanks for the message, Starting something together is a great idea, if we can be lucky enough to find that one person to help us on our adventure to running our own we can have a group that can learn and grow together, it seems like one of the hardest parts is having a decent GM/DM and thats why i started this post because i think if there are more GM/DM out there it will be better for everyone and it shouldnt always be on one person to do all the work I will drop you a PM so not to clog up the topic, but i think its great if we have people starting at the same level with one person to help us learn as we go and a big advantage that if we all work and learn together , taking it in turns or working together on adventures takes the weight off one person which i think would lead to even better games and experiences. Another Shout to any GM/DM help us on our quest to be knowledgeable adventurers and allow yourself to re-immerse yourself into the game more as a character,
Just an update, (and maybe a cheeky bump) but i now have 5 people confirmed in the group (4 of which are always available most evenings) the other works nights and isnt as easy to organise but will do his best So we are still on the look out for a GM/DM to help us get going provide a little training so  we can all give Dm a go when ready allowing you to be a part fo the game rather than always GM/DM If your happy to GM/DM and not worry about playing in a grou, thats still cool :) We 3 players are GMT and 2 GMT+1 so theres no hassle  (apart from the one player on GMT that is limited availability) we are also all 25-35
Hey I was wondering if you would be happy if I could tag along in your group? If we don't find a DM that would be happy to so I wouldn't mind giving it a go however I haven't done it before so our mileage may vary depending.  I have been playing D&D for 3 months and I really love the idea of being a DM and making the story world, and I have at least one amazing idea I think that if I could pull it off would be pretty fantastic. I am 18, have a microphone, and I am available at 6pm GMT+1 till about 11pm GMT+1 at a maximum (but probably would prefer to stop at 10pm just depends on how I am feeling).  I will pm you my steam, teamspeak address and skype. Add me or come onto whichever one is easiest.
