Our Group We are coming to the end of a more specialized campaign that was better off with three players. Now we want to get back to having a normal party composition. As such, we are looking to recruit one or two new players. Our group currently consists of four people (one GM and three players). We are a lighthearted group and our humor tends towards obscene and crude, with very few subjects being considered too taboo for discussion. This can range from anything from heavily racist jokes (emphasis on jokes, none of us are actually prejudice) to discussing strapping explosives to the orphans. If you are easily offended or can't take a joke, this group isn't for you. We use Discord for our games. We do not use webcams for our games. We play every week on Saturdays at 12:00 PM PST (GMT-7). We usually play for about 5 hours each session. Campaign We decided that we wanted to try a less traditional sort of campaign. We decided that we wanted to try a campaign where you play zealous members who have been indoctrinated to believe wholeheartedly in the doctrines of a cult. This creates a chance for party alignments to be heavily varied without the normal problems. One character could be lawful good and want to establish the proper government with their cult on top, as they believe it should be. Meanwhile, another could be chaotic evil, hoping to be rewarded for their service to the cult with power and the ability to rule over those they deem to be inferior. Either way, they're bound by the belief that adherence to the order of their cult will achieve the desired results. The players will be part of the Followers of Ymeri; a cult dedicated to Ymeri, the Elemental Lord of Fire. They seek to install their members into positions of political power and to prepare soldier to send to the plane of fire, where they expect that Ymeri will grant them immunity to fire. The players will be members who do the work of Ymeri in the material plane until they can be summoned to aid Ymeri directly. Our first session for this campaign should begin on October 29th. The GMing style of our group tends to be rather relaxed. Our campaigns are usually semi-serious, with room for fun and silliness, but not too terribly much. We also tend to have quite a few homebrew rules to make the game better (at least we think so). What We're Looking For We are looking for one player. We ask that you meet these criteria. Be at least 16 years old. Speak fluent English. Be able to use Discord's voice chat. Be okay with dirty and obscene jokes. Be able to hold your temper and not be aggressive to other members of the group. Know the system OR be capable of learning a new system. Be capable of making it to nearly all weekly games. Be able to be contacted easily outside of scheduled game times. Remember, we are willing to teach players that are new to the system or even to tabletops in general. We just ask that you are competent and dedicated enough to learn the new systems.
