Shadowrun 5e - Looking for two more players - Mondays 6pm-8pm & Fridays 10pm-midnight - AZ time

Hello! I am starting up a Shadowrun 5e game in a week or two. We are looking to grab another two or three players for two limited sessions, one on Mondays from 6pm to 8 or 8:30pm, and one on Fridays from 9:30pm or 10pm to midnight (Mountain-Arizona Time). We will be running the game for a few months to start, and more if things go well and everyone is liking how things are going. This is our first time playing Shadowrun, but the two I already have in have played D&D 3.5, Pathfinder, Deadlands, and World of Darkness for a good amount of time in the past, and I personally have been DMing D&D for a good six or seven years. We need reliable, committed players. You don't have to be an expert at Shadowrun, we are just looking for players who want to give their all to the game. Be there because you want to be there, and let's have a fantastic time! We are NOT looking for rules lawyers or power-hungry power-levellers. The game will be a good mix between combat and roleplaying, but can change depending on what players we end up with. As said before, we are looking for three or four players. Right now, I have two or three, and I'd love to have six. Also, it would be phenomenal to get a girl or two in the party to change things up a little. Let me know if you are interested, what your previous game experience is, and what your schedule looks like on friday nights. Also, while we won't be using a webcam, you should have a headset of some sort - most of the game information will be delivered via audio, not in text. Matt
What about someone with absolutely no Shadowrun experience? I have the time, and experience with D&D 3.5 and 4e, and pathfinder, but not Shadowrun. Would like to be involved though if possible.
If you are available during those times, you can hop on in! There will be a slight learning curve, but Shadowrun's concepts are similar to D&D. Have you ever played New World of Darkness? Shadowrun is similar. Rather than a d20 + mods VS target number, you add two numbers together (usually a skill and an attribute/ability) to get a number, and you roll that many d6's. 5's and 6's are a HIT and anything else is a MISS. So basically, if you have 3 in the skill and 3 in the attribute, you roll 6 dice. Let's say you get a 6, 5, two 3's, 2, and a 1, that's two successes, and you would beat a target number of 2 or lower. Same concept, just a different mechanic. Everything is bent around the "dice pool" mechanic. Once you get that, you are good to go. :) Get your hands on a manual and do a read through, if you still want the spot, we'll save it for you. :) First game should be friday, not sure yet. We are all logging in tonight to check things out and talk about what characters everyone is rolling, if you'd like to join us.
Do you have room in your Friday game? Those times are perfect for me and I would love to play some Shadowrun. :]
I will definitely get a copy and join you on friday.

Note that the game is both times. Both Mondays from 6 to 8:30 and Fridays from 9:30 or 10 to midnight. Sometimes we can go a little later on Fridays if everyone obliges. Most of the time they will be two hour sessions, there is just a little breathing room on either side. We all have lives, so I'm very careful to treat players well in that respect. There may be a session at times that we miss, but we should be able to let everyone know days in advance if something comes up. We also plan to come to an agreement on what to do when someone doesn't show up or can't make it, and how to handle their character. If you two are down, we are locked in then. You don't have to memorize the book from the get go, but skim as much as you can. Skip the history and read the mechanics so when we get into the fray of it all, things hopefully go just a little bit smoother. I've never used this program (if that scares you, no hard feelings, haha!) so the first couple sessions will be a learning experience for all of us, but if we just have fun, we can make this awesome. Joshua, are you new to the game? How much experience do you have?
Was I supposed to be here tonight too, or just from Friday on. Tonight I am supposed to have dinner at my moms house, but will be free mondays and fridays after that. Is that a problem?
Definitely not a problem. See you on friday! Swing by any time between 9:30 and 10, we'll start sometime around 10. I'll invite both of you (how? if I need email addresses, I'll have to get that from both of you), and just get me your character as soon as you can. I'm free a few days out of the week if you need to meet or have any questions about character creation. I'll also have a thread open for you to ask questions.
Actually, nevermind. I'll PM both of you the game link, it should allow you to join from there. If not, please let me know and I'll correct it! As for characters, just send them to me attached on a PM or via email to the email I'll send with the same message.
Are you planning on using the built in voice/video for roll20? If so you just create your campaign and then send invites to our emails, either the ones associated with our accounts by clicking our names or ones we give you. My email is <a href="mailto:sylverlokk@gmail.com" rel="nofollow">sylverlokk@gmail.com</a> If you are going to use an alternate means of voice like skype or whatnot, just let me know ahead of time so I can set it up.
I am reading the quick start guide from here right now to just get a little familiar with the system. <a href="http://cdn.shadowruntabletop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/E-CAT27QSR_SR5-Quick-Start-Rules.pdf" rel="nofollow">http://cdn.shadowruntabletop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/E-CAT27QSR_SR5-Quick-Start-Rules.pdf</a>
I'm planning to use voice. Video is optional, but I probably won't use mine. I don't like to waste the RAM. The campaign is created, I sent you the link, which should work. I'll also invite your email. I bought my book as a pdf on DriveThruRPG and then printed it's gigantic form out to have a semi-hard copy until I can buy a real one. The pdf should be pretty cheap. Whatever you do anyway, make sure it's 5e. I don't know how much the editions change, so I can't help you if you go memorize 4e, haha!
That link looks really good! I didn't even know they had that online somewhere. Nice!
Damn. I want to play, but I can't play on mondays (GMT+4, it would be 5am tuesday for me) :(
I would like to join your group if you have a spot open. Those times are good for me and I would love to play.
Sorry Alexander! :/ Mark, I wrote you a PM.

I will send you a copy of my character as pdf. email or skype?
Are you still looking for players, or are you all booked up?
I apologize, sir, but we are full! If we lose a player down the line, I'll shoot you a PM and see if you are still interested.
ahh, ok. PM me if you ever need more player.
