Pin Background

While setting up the backgrounds and setting for my campaigns I keep running into problems getting my tiles to stay where I want them. I want certain items, like the grass, trees, houses, etc. to be part of the background. When I am making the maps now I run into the problem of not being able to select the item I want without accidentally moving something else. If I could build from the base up and pin the items down that would improve the ability to build maps faster. By pin I mean an option, probably under advanced settings on the background layer to make the selected object immobile. If you need clarification of this idea I will try.

Just a note: something similar can be accomplished with existing tools. Step 1: Lay down the map. Step 2: Place objects that you wish to be part of the map. Step 3: Put objects you wish to be on top on top by right clicking on the object and selecting 'to back' or 'to front' to move the object on the z-layer. Step 4: Group the object with the map. Regarding you having trouble selecting objects (example: you keep grabbing the map) you can try this: (this assumes the object is on top of the map) Step 1: Hit escape Step 2: Select the object you wish if it is on top. If not on top, change the other objects until it is. If none of these suggestions help or if you have further problems with the z-layer order please feel free to let me know, we are here to help. :) (Note: I am not commenting on your suggestion, only trying to help via the current tools we already have.) - Gauss
