I like the idea of having Map, Token, GM, Lighting and Fog Layer Layer although what I would like to request is an extension of this system. Firstly I would rename the Map, Token, GM, Lighting and Fog Layer to Sub-Layers and instead having a combination of all 4 be considered one layer. Tokens will be able to with a right click to be moved to a different sub layer (as it works now) as well as be transferred to a different layer all together. Lighting and Fog layer will be individual for each layer and will have no effect on another layer. Tokens may be able to have a toggleable option to be able to affect X layers above and below it with light and vision (These should be able to be set individually) The idea here is that you can then add multiple layers (With their 5 sub layers) which can stack on top of each other, and with a click a layer can be hidden or have a transparency set. Potential Uses for this: Visual and decorative: It allows you to have map layer objects like bushes be in front of token objects but not selectable by the GM by accident as well as having transparent map objects on top of the player tokens so they can see their tokens through trees as well as having a layer with transparent aircrafts or transparent huge bosses if you allow combat under them. Advanced lighting: If you allow tokens to be able to affect other layers with vision and lighting you can set it up so you can have vision on a token but not be able to see the ground below it for example. Multiple Floors: It will allow you to seamlessly walk between several floors of a building seamlessly and even able to turn on/off layers to allow players to fight on multiple floors of the same building Under and Above water combat: Essentially the same idea as floors, able to switch between underwater combat (So ships above them are transparent and not obscuring the tokens) and above water combat essentially hiding those tokens from the other above water players. There is also quite a lot more uses for it obviously, and I would like to discuss here with the other users how they might want to use such a system or suggest improvements to my idea.
