[5e Community] Proficiency Bonuses not adding correctly

I don't know if it's the character sheets or what but the formulas for our weapon strikes and skill checks are way off. My character is a homebrewed drunken brawler. He has proficiency in unarmed strikes and has a Strength of 18. So he should have a +6 to hit. Yet whenever I roll using STR as the stat it always rolls a D20 +3. When I roll an Acrobatics check (something he's proficient in. Also he has a Dex of 17) it should be a d20 + 5 but instead it's a d20 +6 in the formula. It's not just me, every player in our session has had their rolls off by a few numbers. What could be causing this? Is it a setting my DM put on or is it the character sheets? Please help!

Hi Jason, I'm assuming from your description that you are playing D&D 5e, but it's always a good idea to be clear about this on the forums as there are many different systems played on Roll20. The other thing is that it would help if you could post a pic of what your sheet looks like with the offending attack opened to the edit window. As it stands now, I'm wondering if your group switched from one 5e sheet to another 5e sheet recently. There are sometimes issues with duplicate attributes when this occurs that cause funkiness with totals. If you recently noticed a drastic change in the look of your sheet, or if your DM says that he did change what sheet the game was using, I'd start by asking your DM to make you a fresh sheet and reenter all your values on the sheet (you can also do this by finding and deleting the duplicate attributes, but this is rather time intensive and prone to error).
I think that is what may have caused the issue.&nbsp; Let me start at the beginning. We are playing 5e. My Dm was using the ShapedV2 for an old campaign: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/sheet-previews/dnd5eshaped2" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/sheet-previews/dnd5eshaped2</a>... The session ended up dying out but recently she opted to bring it back. She cleared off our old character sheets to use. However, I quickly noticed that it wasn't homebrew friendly (myself and another player are playing with Homebrew classes) so I asked her to switch to the community contributed version: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/sheet-previews/dnd5e.png" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/sheet-previews/dnd5e.png</a> Two new players added to this session have no issues with their sheets. It's just me and two others who were using recycled sheets from the previous session. ^I have a +6 to hit with 'Woopin' Stick' but the formula calculates it as a +3 only.

Ah, yeah, I'd try switching your sheets over to new ones or going through to weed out the duplicate attributes.

If you do make the switch to either of the new sheets (Shaped or OGL) then I'd recommend starting each sheet from scratch as old values will potentially cause problems.

Ah, to be clear, I meant new characters, not switching sheet.
I had my DM make new character sheets for myself and my two other campaign buddies. Everything works exactly as intended now! Thank you all for the help and responses.
