Yeah, it would work really well. If you want it to feel more like Skyrim or any other game like that, you could easily tweak some spells, make leveling a bit different. Maybe even eliminate the need for classes by using Skyrims perk system. Give weapons that are higher level. (Such as Iron versus Steel) attack bonus like you would a magic weapon. I recamend making it a different era though, just so PC's cant just think about what happened in any of the games.
