[5e Shaped] 7.3.9

A typical upgrade takes only a few seconds, completing before you can even click the character sheet tab. A larger upgrade or a laggy computer or connection can take maybe 5-10 seconds. A very large upgrade like spells from the old system to the new will take between 5-30 seconds. It varies based on what is being upgraded. The indication is written in the text: when the spinning circles are no longer laggy.
Liam said: BIGBOIOTAKU said: Orta said: Hi Sean, This is a known bug and the workaround is to drag any weapons from the Compenduim and edit it as needed . This is already fixed since 7.3.9 I believe. Kryx, I really love the new version, and so do my players, both for PC and NPC with Spells and Innate casting. Great job ! I have the same problem (posted it as a thread) and im trying to fill in everything that i can i have yet to stumble upon a solution If you look at the message you replied to, the workaround is listed there. Drag a weapon from the Compendium, then edit it to what you need :) I have read all of these and attempted the workarounds, however even those don't work for me. Even just manually inputting the information rather than any sort of drag and drop. I've created an entirely new character sheet, tried drag and drop, workaround, and manually filling all information. I have also attempted to create a new game, with a new sheet, and repeating all recommendations as well as the manual approach. I still get the syntax error. I have not asked my players to attempt only because I don't want their sheets to suffer for it. All weapons that have already been on the sheet before this error work fine. I am baffled. I love this sheet and I really want to keep using it, but this kind of makes it difficult.

You must first drag and drop a weapon from the SRD. For example a longsword. Then the script will not error out and you can change it as you please. That is the current workaround and the only workaround. Manually editing without using drag and drop will fail until the version is updated by roll20.

I love this sheet and I really want to keep using it, but this kind of makes it difficult. By Drag and Drop, it means enabling the compendium for your game and dragging a weapon from there, not copy & pasting text from a document or something. The compendium allows for items to auto fill the information and triggers the sheet to initalise that item correctly, which the sheet version live for non-Pro members does not do for manual input atm. (Also make sure that you don't have the sheet popped out as you won't be able to use the compendium on a popped out sheet)

That is the current workaround and the only workaround. Manually editing without using drag and drop will fail until the version is updated by roll20. The long sword works, but I guess my question now, will it only work with long sword? I have attempted to drag and drop a mace and that fails. Obviously this won't affect anyone that has the updated sheets, so in a bit it won't even matter. Though it makes me curious what else will fail? Is there anything else that I need to keep an eye on for myself or my players until this is resolved?

A longsword works because it has properties, a mace doesn't. So really the workaround requires a weapon with properties. 7.7.0 (2016-12-03) Features Added a full list of conditions.&nbsp;Still more to do as they do nothing right now. See&nbsp; <a href="https://bitbucket.org/mlenser/5eshaped/issues/3/co" rel="nofollow">https://bitbucket.org/mlenser/5eshaped/issues/3/co</a>... for the issue. See screenshot below Bug Fixes Reverted the removal of roll_info, closing the initiative with roll2 issue:&nbsp; <a href="https://bitbucket.org/mlenser/5eshaped/issues/20/r" rel="nofollow">https://bitbucket.org/mlenser/5eshaped/issues/20/r</a>... I'll likely revamp how adv/dis works a bit in the future Abilities column is ever so slightly wider Moved Death save proficiency to the bottom left of the window so it causes no jumps when entering edit mode
Just updated to 7.7.0. &nbsp;Question: Is the "prepared" button supposed to be covering the spell names?

The screenshot above is on the spells tab which seems to have lost some styles due to some recent renaming. It looks like the min-width is lost. Likely this isn't a problem on the core or npc spells. That said the potential for overlap is always there. It&nbsp;is a consequence of prepared being shown in presentation mode and part of the reason why it was removed before people complained and I reverted it. There are a few options to avoid this issue: change prepared to a circle like OGL. Truncate the text of the spell name I don't have a strong opinion as we rarely have to worry about prepared. Probably option 1 would be better.
Yeah, Idk? circle maybe. I make handouts for each of my casters who have to prep anyway. I was just bringing it up. I'm sure there will be at least one person to complain. heh
What above moving [ prepared ] beneath the spell name? Stack would be spell name, prepared, then the level / school, etc.

Hey. First of all - thank you for all the incredible work. May I request, if possible, to make some labels to have something like auto word-wrap ? Or at least make them a lil-bit bigger ? Main 4 tabs (Core, spells, chars, all); Advantage/Disadvatage (image below); Inside spells: prepared and ritual, and maybe some others I missed. Also, it would be very-very much appreciated to get noticed when main en.js get updated somewhere in these threads. Best regards.
Kryx said: 7.6.0 (2016-12-03) Features Russian updated. Thanks&nbsp;Netoen Equipment can be condensed. It defaults to being condensed. See screenshot below for the uncondensed version Added a new "Conditions" box. Moved exhaustion to it. I may add some more conditions to it, but making the effects automatic is difficult. See screenshot below HP area redesigned (I may move rests soon as well). See screenshot below Bug Fixes On the Core page for PCs the right column no longer grows Following this update I guess that there is simply no chance that the equipment tab will be a separate tab like it was in the past?

Hi Netoen, Thanks again for the Russian translation updates. The fake-buttons have to have a set width due to how they're setup. They're setup that way because there aren't really better options within roll20. The sheet supports about 5 languages (English, French, German, Italian, and now Russian). Since the vast majority of the user base uses English the width of those words is what I've chosen to use for these fake-buttons. If I were to increase the width to fit all languages they'd all be much wider which means less fit in an area and the buttons take up more room of the sheet which makes the experience worse. That said not all fake-buttons need to function like that. Normal, Advantage, Disadvantage, and Roll2 definitely don't. So I'll change how those are setup. I'll try to post when I update translations, but you may want a better notification. See&nbsp; <a href="http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9732779/how-to-watch-only-a-directory-in-a-github-repository" rel="nofollow">http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9732779/how-to-watch-only-a-directory-in-a-github-repository</a> or you can be notified of the commits on&nbsp; <a href="https://github.com/mlenser/roll20-character-sheets/commits/master" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/mlenser/roll20-character-sheets/commits/master</a> . The commits there are either a new version, a merge from the roll20 project, or a translation, so it's a pretty small list.
So none of the spells have commas or spaces between em?&nbsp; Any reason why or soulution to this?

Same problem as&nbsp;Dvergr76. I made a change to spell styling to synchronize it across all views (PC, NPC, Spells tab) and it isn't applying correctly. I'll fix it in the next version.

7.7.1 (2016-12-04) Bug Fixes Revamped how pseudo-buttons are created. The following buttons were changed: Normal, Advantage, Disadvantage, Roll2, Generate Skills, ritual for spells, prepared for spells. Conditions use the new pseudo-buttons. Still a work in progress Hit dice box now has a more rounded upper left corner to fit with the heart next to it Spells on the spells tab and the NPC sheet now appear as expected (Spells tab was caused by the refactoring I mentioned. NPC was caused by the addition of the condense button to traits - that has been isolated now) The prepared toggle for spells viewable in presentation mode and not condensed has been moved down to the next line.

7.7.2 (2016-12-04) Bug Fixes Exhaustion moved to the end of conditions Navigation has been revamped to use the new pseudo-buttons. They can now expand based on the words in them. It'll cause them to be ever so slightly slower in execution, but shouldn't be noticeable from my testing (same as edit mode has always been). Rests moved next to the navigation. They also show for NPCs now if you have show rests toggled on. The big heart and small hearts have been adjusted. The hearts purposefully overlap See Screenshot below for current UI: Release: 7.7.2 is the version that is likely going live unless there are issues to fix. If anyone has spare time to try it on their campaign I'd appreciate it.
Just uploaded 7.7.2 to a test campaign before my live one... looks a bit broken. (Copied RAW from github)
Looks like you need to add the translation bit.
7.7.2: Spells in uncondensed mode look good. *thumbs up*
I'm having an issues with NPCs. I even tried to create a new Archmage from the compendium, and I still get the spells all put into cantrips, and I have to go to each spell and change the spell level by hand and stuff. Not sure what is happening, but I am not doing anything but drag and drop from the compendium. Thanks!

Dragging a NPC from the srd contains no info on the spells for me to parse. You must drag them from the SRD as you're doing. If you instead use the API script it will automatically do it.
Hi, I liked your new version look so much that went into your test game to see it for myself. I opened the Hunter Assassin sheet and let it convert to 7.7.2. When it finished it looked like this. Something is up with Death Saves bubble selects. Chrome browser, 100% zoom, sheet opened right in the app and not popped out. Let me know if you need any more info.
I understand, Kryx. Thanx for all the awesome upgrades to sheet. One of the major reasons me and my players even have Pro in first place.

@Heather: hmmm. I see it as normal. Is your browser font size the default size? I'll make an adjustment to it anyways to make it more reliable, but this is likely the cause.

Played our first game on the new sheet last night. It's the latest version that's live on Roll20. Not sure if these issues are logged so here we go: Bugs Some attacks had either the attack roll or saving throws or extras unchecked. The data was still there, but the checkbox had been deselected. Some spells had either the attack roll or saving throws unchecked. Some traits had either the attack roll or shaving throws or extras unchecked. Weapons uneditable unless new one dragged from SRD. (I know this is logged, but see below) If I dragged a certain weapon from the SRD and its reach was 5' I couldn't change it. It would revert to 5'. A normal mace didn't drag from the SRD. General feelings about new layout Some players liked the option for spells on the core page, but some opted to disable them on core because it made that page, "too busy and hard to read. It's a solid wall of text." Nobody edited spells from the core page because it was "too crazy", but the most condensed version was enjoyed to view / cast from core. Spell editing was done from spells tab because it felt like it had more room. Nobody missed the equipment tab, but they'd welcome it back if it gave the sheet more "breathing room". (see above issue about the data feeling too condensed on the core page) General consensus of all 5 players was, "why keep changing the sheet? it was perfect before and big updates break stuff". In short, they'd prefer stability over innovation. Requests An extras / notes field for armor & shields Make extras / notes on equipment a toggle to display it outside of edit mode. You've made the sheet very condensed for smaller screens which is a good feature. Would it be possible to make it respond larger by about 50% of the minimum width so that for those folks with large monitors or multiple monitors can view the sheet with more whitespace?&nbsp; I realize quite a bit of the above is subjective, but figured I'd mention it in the event it contributed to an overall consensus. I also explained to my players that Kryx does this project on his free time, and he likes to innovate so they're just going to have to deal. Everyone is very appreciative of the effort.
Kryx said: @Heather: hmmm. I see it as normal. Is your browser font size the default size? I'll make an adjustment to it anyways to make it more reliable, but this is likely the cause. Browser does have normal font size. However, my display has a larger text size (125%) because my screen resolution is such that it makes it hard to read. That could be it and I guess I will suffer alone. No big deal really. H

erm ... Kryx, I have an issue. In the version of 5eShaped the roll20 itself has how one switch language ? I would assume by choosing one in their account settings ? But . . . Showing passives is an optional choice and the slight misalignment is acceptable for a niche setting imo. The cost otherwise would be space elsewhere. However it can never populate the details of the spell. You'll always have to do that manually by dragging from the SRD, importing from the script, or manually add them. I'm not 100% sure what the import-statblock version will do. If you have the spells setup as a json file it should pull them in, but I'm not sure.

This is a software project that is continually improving, adding new features, revamping current features, etc.&nbsp; If we looked back even to June many features would be gone and the sheet would be worse off. To be a bit blunt: the sheet&nbsp;will continue to change, improve, and revamp. If that isn't desired then this sheet is not the right choice for a group. I try my best to make those changes as painless as possible with the upgrade system, but not all can be painless or objective. You can read about how to setup the spells and monster json files on the companion script documentation. You have to do it yourself due to everything not being released by WotC.

What is wrong with the current version? Is there some issue? I was unaware this was related to an issue. If there is an issue can you please open an issue on the issue tracker with a detailed description, screenshots, etc.
Again... You are doing a great job. I just wish I could have said no to the update or whatever until I was ready for it... Maybe need some time to learn before I turn it on. &nbsp; That type of thing. But I digress. &nbsp;Since I am able to turn off spells in the NPC section and just copy the statblock of spells in directly, I'll just keep with that until I have an easier way of NPC drag and drop, or somehow the wheel is finally available when it is free anyways. That, or the idea of creating my own json file without having to search forever to figure out how to do so... &nbsp;I am in the forums all the time, but it doesn't mean things are easy to search and find. &nbsp;Just sayin. &nbsp; &nbsp; The work you are doing is AWESOME, i can't say that enough.. I just need a ... NOT YET &nbsp;toggle!
