Hello Everyone My name is Jack and i'm an experienced 5E player looking to join a game with either of the two characters below, I'm looking to join a game that is around 10:00pm GMT+0, on any day aside from Saturdays. Thank you ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Character 1 Name: Lilith Scarlet Age: 20 Sex: Female Class: Barbarian Race: Beastfolk ( See Here ) Backstory: Lilith was born in a remote beastfolk village hidden in a forest, her father was a human prince from a far away land, and her mother was a beastfolk that lived in the village, when Lilith was born a few select priests were invited by the village mayor to bless the newborn and to ward off any curses and evil spirits, to which one of the elder priests discovered that Lilith was the reincarnation of the Beastfolks god or war, Vajra. One of the priests gave in to materiel desires and betrayed the villages trust by telling a corrupt and sinister city lord of the recent reincarnation of Vajra, who then hired thieves from an underground organisation to steal Lilith and bring her to him, to which the thieves succeeded. Lilith was then subject to a cruel upbringing, she was kept in a sealed room underneath the lords manor, deprived of natural light for almost 17 years, she was taught the basics of arithmetic, the common language, and of currency, but aside from that she was subject to a strict regime, she was given a sword twice her size, and was told that that sword could only be used by her and no one else, her first challenge was being able to even lift the sword and when she could not, she was beaten, whipped, and starved, if she failed to lift it again, more beating and more whipping, and less food. Eventually Lilith was able to lift the sword, but only just, she was then instructed on how to wield the sword, whenever she got a stance or technique wrong, a bone in her body was purposely broken, she was then subjected to more beating, fresh blood covering dried blood stains from the constant torture, simply holding the sword made her knuckles bleed, yet she did so, as the pain in her hands was nothing in comparison to the fresh hell of those the beat her half to death each day, yet they did so anyway. She slept on straw and hay, and the "facilities" available was a rusty bucket that was emptied every other day and her "cloths" was a torn and filthy shirt and nothing else. By the time Lilith turned eight, she was able to wield the sword almost perfectly, at that point it was as light to her as a feather, and it's over-encumbering size meant nothing, trained professional swordsmen struggled to defend against her attacks, the sheer weight of her sword caused their hands to bleed from the impact, at that point the lord started to use his influence within the city, he sent prisoners from the jails to his underground torture chamber, still bound by chains, he then ordered Lilith to kill them, at first she struggled, hearing the words of someone begging for their life, saying that they have a family and that they were sorry, and that they wanted to live, however Lilith feared being beaten again, and why should she be hurt over someone she has never met before? So she slaughtered them one after another, day in, day out, eventually Lilith stopped caring, no longer was she empathetic towards anyone, the same sob story after another, to her it was simple, kill or be beaten, kill or be beaten. This continued until Lilith turned fifteen, people had heard that people that went to prison disappeared, so crime in the city dropped by 98%, the lord then issued challenged throughout the land, the reward was anything they wanted that he had the power to grant, however failure was death, people of different backgrounds and races flocked at the opportunity to have their wish granted, one-by-one they were lead to the chambers, many where horrified by the sight of scene in front of them, it even made the toughest of orcs tremble, the stench of death loomed over them as they entered, dried blood everywhere, on all walls, ceiling and floors, and alone in the low light where the emotionless, unemphatic scarlet eyes, of Lilith, all those who entered never left, Lilith slaughtered them all whether they be human, elf, orc, gnome, dwarf, or something else, all fell to her blade. It all changed however during one night, she was seventeen by then, the lord had returned to his manor drunk out of his mind, barely able to stand, he pranced about his manor in a drunken delight, after a shot while however he started feeling a little "frisky", and what better way of divulging in that feeling then with his favorite plaything down in the basement, so he made his way down to the torture chamber tripping on nothing whist drinking out of a fresh bottle of whisky as he did so, eventually he arrived at the door to the room, going inside, Lilith was huddled in the corner atop her bed of straw, woken from her slumber due to the drunken singing and giggling from the lord, she stood up looking down at the lord who had sunk down onto his knees in his drunken babble, then a sudden, single thought entered her head, she was disgusted with what she saw, everything she knew and thought, the most important things that had literally been beaten into her, this man was none of those things, this repulsed her down to her very core, so she lifted her sword above her head, and removed the source of her disgust, in one swift action. The lord had been cut in two, straight down the middle, and like the fool he was, he had left the door open and unlocked, so Lilith took her first step out of the room she had lived in for seventeen whole years, she then ran as fast as she could though corridors, hallways, and large rooms until eventually she left the manor, she looked up at the sky and for the first time in her life she saw the stars and the moon, not a cloud in the sky a crystal clear view, however although she was filled with curiosity and bewilderment, she felt nothing, no feeling what so ever, she couldn't, and would probably never be able too, for all the cuts, bruises, and broken bones, this was the largest scar of them all, a lack of empathy and emotion. For the next three years Lilith traveled around, living off animals that lived in forests, on occasion she would enter a town or village and would take on a bounty, to track and hunt down a person or group for a reward which she excelled at. So for the next three years she was alone, but free, with only her sword my her side, to which she valued as greatly as her own life, as it was the one thing she could rely upon she traveled, explored, fought, and lived, eventually along the way she learned the elven and orcish langues as they were a common race which she frequently met, and who knows, maybe she might find her way back, to a small village hidden in a forest... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Character 2 Name: Nova Jadehammer Age: 36 Sex: Male Class: Barbarian or Sorcerer Race: Half-Elf or Beastfolk ( See Here ) Backstory A Nova was born to a elven father and a human mother, he was named Nova because when he was born he set the doctors ablaze due to his strong affinity to the infernal powers in his bloodline eye witnesses described the blaze as *as bright as the stars in the night sky*. His family were poor but hardy always finding some way of surviving, when Nova was about four years old a mad elvish cult raided the town purging it of those who lived there, targeting those they deemed unclean for mingling with other races and torturing half elves who, in their eyes where no better then an experiment gone wrong. As a result Nova's family were killed, he was only able to escape by hiding under the old wooden floorboards and crawling out from under the house, from then on Nova lived in the slums of Port Town surviving any way he could. Due to his living in the slums Nova mastered the art of persuasion and deceit, to try and con and lie food and money from the unsuspecting towns people. By the age of eleven Nova had learned a number of kantrips and a few spells, although they leaned towards utility, Novas intelligence and cunning allowed him to use them for what they are designed for and to give him an offensive or tactical advantage as well as his ability to wield a quarterstaff that he had bartered for when he was young, because Nova had lived on the streets for so long he taught himself how to read and write, in many languages due to the diverse race pool that lived in Port Town, he also taught himself how to act *proper* around high class people, learning the intricacies and etiquette of each social class and stature, which greatly allowed him to mingle with anyone allowing him to con more and survive easier. (Note Nova is Eleven when this happens): One night Nova was approached by the Harbor master with terms of employment, *I have something of great value that I want protected, if you can keep it safe without anyone damaging it and without you sealing it, I shall grant you a reward worth your while, here is a little something to show that i'm being serious*, and then Nova was handed a purse of 5 gold, 6 silver and 40 copper, this was the most money Nova had ever seen and he knew that the payment from someone who can just give away this amount of money as a statement was something defiantly worth the work, and so he accepted. The thing that he had to protect was a door in the Harbor masters manor, *Do not let anyone inside this room for a week aside from a head butler Samuel, and do not look inside the door and you shall be paid* and so Nova sat in front of the door not moving, sleeping and barely eating aside from the few times that Samuel came to enter and leave the room, this continued until the night of the seventh day when a loud crash echoed throughout the manor and a sudden ear splitting scream could be heard from the other side of the door, Nova who now fully realized exactly what it was that he had been protecting for all that time blitzed through the door through the room and out of the broken window, following what were now muffled screams to a darkly lit warehouse with wooden boxes piled high, and in the center of the room where two hooded figures and a bound child on the floor, one of the hooded figures whistled and drew a one-and-a-half sword, as he slowly drew the sword around twenty figures appeared around Nova all laughing and pointing some even struggling to stand due to their heavy laughter, ignoring them and focusing on the two main figures next to the child, Nova readied his quarterstaff, the thug who had drawn the sword laughed sadistically and said *you're the bodyguard? YOU? a small child is going to stop all twenty two of us? pfft go home boy don't get yourself killed!*, and with that Nova rushed to the right and hit a laughing thug over the head with a definitive crack, the thug crumpled to the floor almost immediately. Dead. The lead thug shouted *kill the bastard!* and thus the remaining twenty one tugs rushed to Nova, who used his quarterstaff to block and deal blows, strategically using his spells and kantrips to gain advantage after advantage, after about fifteen minutes of fighting it ended, Nova straightened up covered in blood from head to toe droplets dripping from his hair and chin, none of it his own, he slowly walked to the bound child on the floor who looked terrified of the sight she had just seen and of the figure that was slowly approaching her, Nova picked up the bound girl, who was no more then five years old, he did not even bother unbinding her or removing the gag in her mouth as he had no intention of listening to whatever she had to say at that point, aside from the occasional sniffle. After carrying the girl over his shoulder all the way back from the warehouse to the harbor masters manor, he unbound her in front of the harbor master and his wife who were currently in tears, and stood there using his quarterstaff as a support to keep standing, dripping blood everywhere, the harbor master could not be more thankful and offered Nova a permanent position as his daughters bodyguard as well as any gift he wanted, Nova smiled and accepted and asked for that instead of a singular large gift that he would allow him to teach and mentor his daughter so that this sort of thing would never happen again, and then and only then would he ask for a large reward. The Harbor master agreed to the deal and allowed Nova to teach his daughter, who went by the name of Stephanie or Steph for short, about a verity of topics from academic studies, to self defence and Novas personal favorite *Street Smarts* where Nova showed when Steph was being conned or pick pocketed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Backstory B There exists a dimension in between all others, inaccessible to anyone, this dimension is in its self a very large building, within this building lives beings of unimaginable powers, lesser creatures title them as "Gods". Nova is one such god, strong enough in fact to be one of the few allowed onto the "High Council of Lord Elders", a group of the most powerful that lead and control the others, in order to maintain order. Those on the "High Council of Lord Elders" are the only beings with the authority, to create and destroy universes, and after several trillions of years Nova eventually got board, after all, there are only so many galaxys, planets and stars you can make before it gets tedious, even creating life gets dull, so he turned to one of the lesser beings and asked her to create a universe, and so with the permission of a Lord Elder, she did so. The "Goddess" was inexperienced, and so the universe was flawed and rough, however there was a certain charm to it, the roughness and harshness of the universe was countered by the ability to let it freely develop and grow, the same was true with the life that started to inhabit the planets, one of which interested Nova greatly, the world had many types of sentient creatures they got along with each other, yet sometimes would fight and kill. After a few hundred thousand years of observing this particular planet Nova decided that he wanted to experience it first hand, at the same level as those who inhabit it, so he changed his from to match that of one the sentient creatures, and locked his powers to that of the mortals, he decided to grow along side them as they would normally do, that he would live as they do, and if possible, cause a bit of mischief and have a bit of fun.
