dropping character tokens on the map.

When you have a token defaulted to a character, lets say I set token X to character Y in the journal. when I drop character Y on the map, why does it not like auto-fill the stuff? such as the character it represents... and other settings that you set constantly like what the three bars mean. this would help tremendously in not having to constantly link every character back to the settings when I jump into a new setting.
