Aligning maps any guides besiedes the official?

So yir. Ive tried with the orinal guide, but my problem, is not matter how pixel perfect i fell i align the map, when i go from one side to another side of the map, it is not aligned anymore...... Altrough im close, it becomes a problem on bigger maps (Running curse of strahd with the official WOC maps by Mike Schley) So yir, any sulutions? Do i have to make it X pixels within gimp when converting it from pdf? Or is it a general problem with the Schley maps ?! No matter what , thanks for the helps guys and happy rolling!
Schely's maps are hand drawn and the grids are not always perfect. As long as you are close it should be fine. Don't drive yourself crazy with it. Happy Gaming Ed
You could just turn off the grid and run it that way.

Both of the above 2 suggestions are good advice for different approaches. I usually do what Ed said. Another option is put a fractional number in the Grid Size Units setting. Try using a Grid Size Units of .5 instead of the default 1. This allows more discrete squares / positions of movement, while maintaining the same Scale, so it is easier to adjust a token to a specific spot. Wiki docs, https://wiki.roll20.net/Page_Settings#Grid You can also hold down your ALT or Option key to move a token without it snapping to the grid. https://wiki.roll20.net/Keyboard_Shortcuts#Moving....
So well i guess that explains a bit Ed - thanks for that (new they where hand drawn i just kinda thought that the grid part had been either machine made or drawn really precise!) SkyCaptain if i turn off the grid, how will player movement be then?! (can they move "freely" as in not being dragged too a specefic spot like with the grid on?!) Gold : already tried with Alt, didnt help :/ But ill try too turn the grid size down!! And thanks all three of you!

I set my page scale to measure what I want and let my players use the waypoint method to measure their movements.
Another option is to 'get it close' and turn the alpha on the Roll20 grid all the way down. That way you don't see that the grids don't line up perfectly. A token being a few pixels off on the map grid won't matter.

Excellent point, that is another great technique to help with this. What Swords called the alpha, is termed Opacity in the Roll20 interface for Page Settings. In other words, make the Roll20 grid invisible, to help hide where it is not perfectly matched with the underlying grid on your art/map. I suggest watching this video by Cody from Taking20. I think it's probably the easiest way to set up maps. Aligning grids to maps starts about the 6 minute mark.
I'm surprised he doesn't show the Align to Grid function built in to Roll20.

Did you try this guide: https://wiki.roll20.net/Aligning_Maps Actually, I'm guessing from the title you did.. but might as well link it here...
The Aaron - i did , but it did not fix my problem tho, and hey, im in tech, and i continiusly get suprised how often i can ask people "did you follow the guide" and the answer is either "what guide" or "noooope" - so good idea posting it any way mate ;) I think ive "fixed" the problem, ive turned off the grid in roll20, a lot off the maps simply seemed impossible for me too actually align. So now we will see how the players handle it .
Another option is a time-intensive, but pretty accurate, way of aligning the maps: Use the built-in Roll20 method to get the map close. Line up the top-left corner of a square in the upper left portion of the map with the Roll20 grid. Increase, or decrease, the width of the map graphic to get it closer to the grid. Repeat step 2-3 until the grid is as close as you can get to the Roll20 grid. Repeat steaps 2-4 for the vertical axis. Using this method, I haven't had any problems w/ the Schley maps I've downloaded and used. (Most of The Red Hand of Doom and all of the Lost Mines of Phandelver.)
