It is suggested that people follow the Roll20 Tutorial , which takes about an hour, to learn about all the possible Roll20 features. Go to the top of the page and touch Games.  In the pull-down menu click Tutorial.  A fake "game" starts up but it is a step-by-step illustration of Roll20 features. At the end you get a mortarboard (graduation hat!) icon in your profile.

That's a really good suggestion, knowing the mechanics of Roll20 can beneficially speed up your enjoyment of a game - and Roll20 provides a lot of kewl 'free' features! Plus, c'mon , how can you resist the grad cap?! :0) khrys...

Dynamic Lighting is only available to Pro (paid) subscribers but it has realistic controls on where your light will go. Macros are not needed any more so much because character sheets are designed with built-in rolls. If you use Tokens (placement is not so important if Fate Core uses Zones) you can set 3 characteristics on the Token rotary menu circules to be changed and it will update on the sheet too, and vice-versa.  You can type either the new number or just "-1" in the circle to lower a value by 1, and it does the subtraction.  It might be a good place to store Fate points. Or you can set up Fate tokens from the Deck system and deal them out (and return them) like you would cards. You can store a Token on a character sheet and to add a Token you just drag and drop the character name in the Handouts on the right.  For sure activate the big red X if an NPC (Mook) is Taken Out. If a type of roll is not on the sheet, learn how to type the roll in chat.  If you use double-brackets you can do an in-text roll and type things like "/me rolls a Burglary skill of [[4df+2]]."  The roll shows as a yellow square; touch the square to get the full roll breakdown. The general in-line Fate roll can be written in Chat like this, or made as a Macro: /r 4df + ?{Skill?|0} [Skill] + ?{Mod.?|0} [Modifier] This roll pauses to ask you to enter a Skill and a Modifier (for example, if you get a Boost from something), entering 0 if you just press Return without doing anything.  Do not type any + sign next to your number, this will confuse the roller.
Just for clarity Dynamic Lighting is available to Plus and Pro members - Pro is not required. And only the GM needs it - your players will all get to use it as participants in your game even if they are free (Base) users as long as you are either a Plus or Pro member.
