How to turn of notifications for discussions in this campaign?

I really like the idea of establishing a kind of Fate GMs and players central meeting point on Roll20. But there is a problem: notifications . The campaign discussions in this Roll20 campaign are numerous, as are the individual posts. For every single post there is a notification shown in the notification drop down on the Roll20 page. This drop down has a limited size. Having dozens and dozends of notifications per day has the effect, that notifications from other campaigns get lost. I have missed quite a few individual notifications because of this already. This current state of getting notified about every single post in this campaign is currently ruining my other game scheduling on Roll20! In this campaign there are a lot of discussions to general Fate topics that would much better be placed in a Roll20 forum - the ones NOT associated with a campaign and therefore NOT sending automatic notifications. Currently I seriously have to consider dropping out of this campaign, simply because of the detrimental side effect of all those post notifications that spam my notifications for other - real (that is, actually running instead of just organising) - campaigns on Roll20. Such a kind of organising "pseudo campaign" without any running session attached like this one here should have better been a forum in the Roll20 forums, NOT a Roll20 campaign. A Roll20 campaign is not intended to act as a "marketplace" or "forum". Those discussions attached to a campaign are supposed to support the single running campaign they are attached to. - Using one campaign as a kind of "central hub" does cause a flood of notification spam. Is there some way to turn off notifications for this campaign separately? I need to get notifications from all other sources (that don't spam my notifications at all). How could this problem be solved?
Agreed. I had like 99 notifications in my inbox because this is considered a game, not a group. As a result, finding the notifications from the game I'm actually running is made a bit harder.
I often get single, directed post to join or run different games. Those I only am aware of if they show up in my notifications. Normally my notifications were single digit per day. Now they are well in the double digits and so numerous, that not all of them are displayed in the drop down. That way such directed posts were not displayed, I was not aware of them and did not answer them, making me unintentionally rude and uncommunicative. The Roll20 forums, especially the LFG forums, are in my view a much better way to organise games - much better anyways in the long run. Discussions about Fate rules application etc. are way off-topic for this campaign forums anyway. There are quite a lot of very active Fate communities "out there" where such topics are discussed extensively. (I prefer the Google+ Fate Core community.) There has to be a way to efficiently reduce the number of notifications from this pseudo-campaign. I know that other groups use a Roll20 campaign as a kind of "meeting place", too. The campaign forums are intended for discussions occuring in actually running campaigns. That way the number of notifications keeps at a manageable level. Maybe Roll20 admins could shift all the threads here to a group forum in the regular Roll20 forums? That would solve the problem at its core.

If you refresh the page you get additional notifications after you have read or Dismissed the others, none are actually lost.  I got 31 notifications after this forum started.  It only showed a limited amount, but refreshing a page after reading/Dismissing some brings more.  There is oddly no "more notifications" button as you would expect on Facebook or other places.  They didn't program one!

Unfortunately, revisions to the Notification system have been something on the Roll20 team's TODO list for ages and you can't currently disable notifications from a game short of leaving it. You could always go upvote the suggestion in hopes that they prioritize the changes:  Overhaul Site Notifications
Upvoted, as it really is spamming my notifications. Hopefully a solution can be found soon, as I prefer not to miss my other games' notifications.

I'm encountering the same issue. If I don't log in every day, I have 60-100 messages in my inbox

And I'm sure that I'm missing a post or three that I might be interesting in, lost among the clutter. Though I, too, like the concept of a central meeting point.
So it might be a good idea to simply create a FATE Roll20 group on something like Slack.
Too many messages. A LOT.

Perhaps a google hangout or skype group?
Or, just pay attention and delete one notification at a time, and then refresh the page to see the next ten, and you don't lose any notifications...  Oh, sorry, I suggested a way that involves actually caring about it.

That was unnecessarily rude. Thank you.

These are both good ideas. It's a good idea to split up the people that are HERE in a single group to send to a bunch of other groups that may or may not be something that they'd use?  Everyone in this group uses Roll20.  That's the point.  I'm not going to join a Google Hangout or Skype or Slack when I'm playing on Roll20.
There is already a Discord group. Not sure how many have joined though.

Hello Everyone, Please keep it polite. Yes, the Discord group exists and the link is in the forums here on a separate thread. I upvoted and commented on the Overhaul Site Notifications (link above). I recommend everyone do the same.  Unfortunately, that doesn't help us now and there is no immediate solution to this issue.  I have set the Fate Corps game page to public (link is on the game page description), so it is able to be seen by everyone, not just the members listed here, with the trade-off that non-members are unable to comment but don't receive notifications.  /Matt

Most everyone seemed nice here, but, unfortunately. there's always that one person who doesn't know how to be civil and decent to their fellow human beings, especially on the internet.. But you take the good with the bad. I saw that there was already a Discord thread, so I saw no harm in adding alternative ideas; make plans on something like Skype and then play on roll20.  Roll20 is not yet conducive to the sheer amount of people and various threads to convenientnly keep up with. So, no harm in exploring temporary solutions. After all, what truly matters is gettting together to play here on roll20; how we do our plannings and discussions is not important. Happy gaming, all!
