c02s03e06 - Who Rule Bartertown? afternoon day 63 After taking the southern outer tower, the team gets blocked by a tunnel of fire leading further into the temple. THX tosses a dispel magic that does the trick, but when the team leads the way into the tunnel they get mind bent pretty damn hard. A tactical withdraw and short rest allowed time to support the siege on the outer north and central gates to consolidate the forces on a single push inward. Each of the three primary entrances had similar barricades.. Zooming out, The temple is like a giant donut with a hollow courtyard the size of a stadium within the inner structure where the aundair and Breland ships were seen landing earlier during the city gate assault. Easy plan... take some seahorses over the walls and neutralize the blocakeds from within. There's Draegoth loyalists looting and experimenting with the airships they've captured.. mixed teams of military lay strewn about the central commons.. the aundir and breland crew were overwhelmed by the Draegoth and now the ships are under their authority. Team shreds the resistance pretty well, but the Draegoth templar in attendence reterated down a western tunnel that The Hound says leads into the lower temple. ... Dhraksis scouts the eentral passage to the front gate eastward and finds the Draegoth resistance overseeing the barricade.. a templar, a slew of temple guards and a giant-sized templar lugging a karrnath necrocannon around like a heavy rifle. Dhraksis takes a headshot on the templar and high-tails back to the team towing a train behind him- the team engages and eats some damage before cleaning up the resistance. To the northeast lies the northern entrance. To the northwest is where the envoys have been staying.. Southwest is common barracks. The Aundair, Breland and Karrnath diplomats are located and while aundair and Breland diplmats are more interested in hiding safety in their ships, the Karrnath envoys are military by nature, and say they've been under house arrest after they got caught snooping about the temple. 1. the karrnathi discovered evidence of a long-cast ritual that is best described as some sort of Doomsday weapon.. but they don't know any specific details. 2. necrotech doesn't fatigue the Draegoth necropolites. After the karrnathi were locked in their quarters, their tech was siezed. A karrnth Battle CRuiser was sunmmoned, but it met resistance from a foreign killsquad and had to retreat... Obviously the team knows that was their operation, but didn't need to share that immediately. Not until after the city was secured, at least. Another group of resistance with temple guards, templars, and giant necrotech heavies got randomed encountered heading down into the temple westward after the fleeing templar.. THX dropped to zero from a nat one head shot from Rogar.. but Rogar was able to recover him with a simple heal... the team was low on resources, but pushed further into the inner temple where they found a mass of Draegoth loyalists and priests in a large coreographed ritual around a black hole of creepy dark energy. Some 5 Giant necrogrunts, 20 Templars plus 40ish mindbending athasian temple guards was a virtual deathtrap. Dhraksis drops his other wish-- kill the loyalists in the inner temple. 80% are dusted at the cost of losing Wish access forever. The team cleans up the strays and with some 3000 troops upstairs.. the temple -- and therefore Bodak-- is Theirs. That singularity of darkness is out of the team's league of understanding, so Dhraksis tells The Hound to summon Beyonce to cash in the Favor she owes... she'll probably know what it does and how to neutralize it. <<end of session >> Dusk, day 63 2/3 to level 11 Loot acquired - City of Bodak -- now titled Bartertown. - 3600 athasian convets - 900 from stryfe keep - 2700 Bodak citizens - 6200 children of Bodak - Breland envoy and maul ship - Aundair envoy and manta ray ship - Karrnath envoy and tech Loot expended - 1200 athasian converts - Dhraksis wish
