Creating Spell Scrolls

You can scribe a scroll of any spell you know. This is similar to a wizard copying a new spell into her spell book, but longer and more tedious: since you cannot make any mistakes, further the inks needed to scribe the scroll are expensive, and the inks quickly becomes inert once prepared. You are looking at a base time requirement of 32 hours minus your Intelligence score, plus half that time again for each additional spell level. Minimum of 1 hour.  The scrolls require exotic inks derived from the spells components and powdered residuum which will cost approximately 10 gold per teaspoon and remain potent for only a number of minutes equal to a successful DC 15 Intelligence (Arcana) check multiplied by 3. Failed checks result in scrolls that will have unpredictable but usually weakened effects when activated. Once you've successfully scribed any particular spell, you can use materials and downtime days (each day translates into 8 hours work, pushing yourself risks exhaustion requiring a Constituition save DC 10 + extra work hours) to repeat the process of scribing that scroll again without having to roll. Spells of levels 1-3 usually sell for 100 gold per spell level, cantrips vary but normally can be purchased for upwards of 50 gold, while scrolls of 4-5 level spells are seldom available.  For some would be scribes, cantrip scrolls are not a cost effective product, which makes them rare outside large planar Metropoli such as the City of Brass or Sigil.
A spell scroll bears the words of a single spell, written in a mystical cipher. If the spell is on your class's spell list, you can use an action to read the scroll and cast its spell without having to provide any of the spell's components. Casting the spell by reading the scroll requires the spell’s normal casting time. Once the spell is cast, the words on the scroll fade, and it crumbles to dust. If the casting is interrupted, the scroll is not lost. If the spell is not on your class's spell or is of a higher level than you can normally cast, you must make an ability check using your spellcasting ability to determine whether you cast it successfully. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level; +4 if it is not on your classes spell list. On a failed check, the scroll is destroyed by a wild magic surge, roll to determine its effects. Once the spell is cast, the words on the scroll fade, and the scroll itself crumbles to dust.
