Hello! We have an established DnD 5e game which is currently down a player, due to schedule changes in work. While not immediately, we are hoping to eventually return to 4 players, and I was hoping someone would be willing to join. We play at the time the title suggests, though we don't always play weekly, or from 5-9. We do play semi-regularly, at least. The game is high magic, high fantasy, but magic is regulated. Nothing super serious, but not a goof-fest either. Our current party has a Rogue-fighter, an Eldritch Knight, and a Paladin, so consider your class accordingly. You must have Discord (And by extension, a Microphone) in order to play, must be able to show up regularly. Do not have a character made and set in stone by the time you want to join. I would like to have a one-on-one character building session before joining the party, since I feel it is the best way to make a character feel like they are a part of the world. The players are at level 6, so expect to start around there. I am open to anything from any 5e books, or even stuff from Unearthed Arcana, and homebrew races or classes might be allowed, but we'd have to discuss it. HERE IS THE BASIC LORE SPIEL I GAVE TO MY PLAYERS AT THE START. This is the area of the world my game takes place in, in a nutshell. The planet is called Georen. (Ji-o-ren) 30 years ago, the Gods were killed. Powerful Mages who sought to better understand the universe poked and prodded at the fabric of divinity until it tore. This event was known as the Severing. It shook the very foundation of creation. However, it seems the universe had a backup plan. Many new gods have ascended from the mortals of Georen. Some ascended immediately, becoming the gods they had once devoutly worshiped. Some were chosen seemingly by random. Many are still unaccounted for. Somehow, one divine being managed to avoid becoming Severed from the power linked to them. Ioun: (Eye-yoon) the god of knowledge. For the last 30 years, the continent of Landikar has slowly entered a new rule, controlled by those who claim to be “Touched by Ioun’s divinity.” They call themselves the Okar Dominion. Though their reach is not perfect, their laws are strict. Okar has set up what is known as the Anti-Magus Initiative, whereby public use of "harmful" magic is punishable by law. Aspiring mages must become certified by the schools of the Okar Dominances across their kingdom. (Don’t worry too much about making Mage characters. There are rebels. More on it later if you decide to play one.) The Dominance and it’s Kingdoms span a great distance, though it’s iron grip loosens the further from the Prime Citadel one is. Shenanigans tend to ensue, in spite of the laws of Okar, and many oppose their rule, and would seek to have it removed from the world. But that’s just the politics. All sorts of weird shit goes on in the world, and it’s your job to make money solving it. If you're interested, feel free to let me know!
